There was something about February, and that its most recognizable holiday was based around chocolate and sensualism...Oh and love. Regardless the issue was it was not always the greatest day for the Lost, as many were unable to form the bonds that brought them the same sense of belonging and love as they had had before they were taken. This was not a universal statement but more so an observation, but rang true enough home with the Fairest that he felt a certain amount of compulsion to do something about it. Thus, with his hands in the Residency market now, and his own revenue flow flowing - combined with some greased wheels and promises here and there had secured the venue for the night. Thus chocolate, wine, and a walk through the warm night air was available for the Lost of Las Vegas in the venue's yearly Lights of Love. Chocolate and Wine was available in the tasting room which served as a nice lounge for anyone who wanted to sit, enjou, and chat the night away. Otherwise the illuminated Cactus garden provided plenty of room to stroll in this little piece of nature within the urban sprawl. Archie had greeted a few people here and there as they began to arrive, the rank and file few that gave the place enough of a bustle. The business supplied the chocolate, and Archie made sure there was plenty of wine on site to please the palate. Mr. Hartman himself? He was lingering at the entrance to the garden, lavender collared shirt with sleeves rolled up and pink mother of pearl buttons, alongside a matching pink and white striped bowtie, and the rest was fairly uniform, black slacks and oxfords with lavender laces. Whether they had romance or not, the Lost had each other, right?

Firebringer arrives at the venue wearing an oddly short for her, red dress, black tights, and her standard black boots. Her hair is up in a fluffy ponytail. Fluffy less because it is intentional, but because frizz is life. Behind her, she's got Rowan "C'mon, this is going to be fun. Or at the very least, there will be wine. Plus, I feel like we've been stuffed up for a bit." She says with a laugh. In truth, the Torrent just didn't like being alone from the 12th to the 14th. Things were just... a mess for her. But no, we don't want that on the mind. We push that away and pretend none of that ever happened. It's better that way. "Oh, and I brought some slightly chocolate flavored wafers if you want some." Cause she did remember how the lemon bars fared the last time. There was also something about walking with Rowan that tickled her wrong. Really, it was just because of the perpetual whispers that she could feel constantly caressing her neck in a way that was both scary and oddly... yeah. Of course, she's sure her own crackling, smoky mantle was kind of weird as well.

He hadn't wanted to go. He had been very verbal about it, actually. Mainly because Archie was the one hosting and Rowan didn't want to revisit that particular conversation. But, in the end, Danica had won with her incessant pestering and promises of a good time. The Darkling had agreed to go under the condition that he would be complaining the whole time.
And boy did he deliver.
It had started with his outfit (too flashy, too boring, too colourful), the temperature (too humid, too windy, too much sand in the air) and the trip (too many people, not enough shadows, what was that music). He had meant to discourage the Torrent, but instead it had turned into a silly game to pass the time. So there they were, at the entrance of the chocolate factory. He accepted the wafer, out of politeness more than anything else - he just kept it in his hand without biting in it. He had settled on khaki cargo shorts and a white t-shirt with pink flamingos on it and even then Rowan had complained.
"I hope there won't be too many people," he said meekly. He didn't like crowds. They made him feel like there was no way out. "Um, ladies first."

From viewing the garden, the Arch man would circle back through the building itself. Taking the time to move through the tasting room which was currently well stocked with wine and plenty of the company’s own signature chocolates. He had to stop and simply try one...or two...or three even before he was off to see if anyone was beginning to trickle in for the evening. If it was a bust it just meant that there was more chocolate to send out to clients and contacts, or always hoard at home for himself.
Either way, chocolate taken care of, he whisked himself to the front door to find that there were actually some attendees. It was almost a relief to find that some Lost had arrived to drink his money away. If not it may have injured his inner host something fierce.
“Welcome, welcome! First ones to arrive, and such a lovely couple at that, fitting for the day, eh?”
A chuckle as he raised a glass, standing apart from them and motioning them towards the tasting room where the real good stuff was.
Personal feelings on the matter? Archie was a consummate host, and wouldn’t be letting those get in the way of this evening.

Kai showed next, wearing a very sunny-looking pink party dress with coral heels. A plain beige clutch dangled from her wrist, just big enough to carry a cellular phone, cards and keys. Nothing about the number screamed 'money' - she'd gotten the dress thrifting in the off-season at the place she'd met Riley, Rowan and Ivory months back - but it fit well. She'd paid a few bucks for a bit of tailoring to make a dress which was a little loose on her work with her athletic frame. She hadn't come alone. Someone had been flagged as a person worth keeping an eye on, and that warranted getting resources moving to smooth out a potentially difficult situation before it popped. "Archie!" She waved. "Thank you so much for setting this up. It's gorgeous here. I'd like to introduce you to someone."She gestured to her dour, intimidating companion, flashing a broad smile to help him relax a little. He wasn't really one for a party, but she had promised him this would be slower than normal. "This is my liege lord... Sir Solomon."
Innocently, Kai's hand slowly popped a bit of nearby chocolate into her face.

The Knight of Scales was as Spartan as ever; a complete foil to Archie with the complete lack of personal touch in his outfit. The shirt was slate grey, because it was clean. The blazer was black, because he was likely unaware that colour existed in suits. He hadn't bothered with a tie, because it was a waste of his time.
What was even more offensive was that it took another full stop to recognize the menacing inquisitor. During the day, Archie could at least tell himself that he wasn't as ugly as Benjamin Murphy... but Solomon was a close second. It's not that his face was malformed, or his mien was cursed with a gross occurrence like some unfortunate Blightbent.
No, Solomon's mien wore hatred on the outside, and frankly reminded everyone how harrowing the Durance was.
The gaunt, parchment-grey skin that looked like it could crumple to the touch had smoothed, restored and catching moonlight with an unblemished silvery enamel. The fire-brand pinpoints in black sockets that triggered the instinct of danger had shifted to humane, scarlet irises more suited for a vampire romance novel. Solomon didn't look as pinched or tired, and frankly it took years of disdain off of his face that he was trying to make up for in a held scowl.
Even then, he looked friendlier than the Magistrate of Nightmares. It made the pathetic suit almost endearing, like a project waiting to be adopted by a naïve princess.
The pale hand was offered, without callouses and a perfect manicure.
This fucker cheated.

The holiday like for many was a strange concoction of experiences for Riley. With their history of turbulent and complicated relationships, the holiday never really held a place of emotional significance, or more true, they didn't place emotional importance on it for their comfort. In the last two years, it had become a busy time for work, the week leading up to (and day of) were often booked with different clubs around town or parties. Las Vegas never seemed to run dry on reasons to add pole dancing or stripping to any holiday and Valentine's often wrote itself for shows. The bewitched however had decided to avoid work today, or at least the stage kind. With their new budding work relationship with Archie, hearing about his rental for a private night at the "Lights of Love", the moth figured it was important to make an appearance. Waking up early, at the ungodly hour of 1 pm. Riley took to preparing for the evening and handling the business of their own. Claire had started texting in the late hours of the night ( morning by most people's standards) and was in a bit of a panic over her date with her new boyfriend. Riley mustered their patience for the matter and spoke with Claire throughout the day. Clothes, makeup, topics for conversations, talking down moments of panic. It did not help that Claire had refused to give Riley the name of this guy yet. " I want you to meet him without you looking him up on social media" What was this guy hiding? All the while the moth had been working on several drafts for Danica. ranging from informal ' hey you going tonight?' to more formal invitations 'Wanna go to the Lights tonight?'. No strings. Riley's words came back to haunt them as they deleted each draft one after another. An unimportant holiday soon founded itself with unintended mounting pressures. Riley blamed it on emotional bleed from Claire. Never mind the swelling anxiety about going to a Light show. It was never their own shit. Instead, the bewitched spring courtier took a different approach to the evening. Texting their pal Linden instead. Riley caught a cab and swung by to linden's. With whom they shared a pregame beer while helping pick the Ogre's Look for the evening. It was one of Riley's favorite pass times. The choosing of clothes, the painting of a presentation, the metamorphosis. It was something they loved to share with others.
Stepping from the car, and glancing towards the lights the Darkling squinted at the display. Their skin crawled, and the flesh on their back grew tight, for a moment they swore they could hear it gripping like stretched leather. Then it was gone. That evening Riley wore a classic slim black suit, that sat open with a white mostly unbuttoned shirt beneath. For a bit of holiday flair, they wore a bright hot pink wig this evening to add a vibrant blast of color to the look. Shaking off the fleeting sensation they turned to look back at Linden. "Don't know about you, but I'm fixin' for copious amounts of chocolate"

To anyone who knew the Ogre, it wouldn't be hard to guess someone else had input on their outfit. There were still familiar touches, like the worn leather jacket hanging over their shoulder from a crooked finger, but dress clothes had not touched Linden's body for quite some time. They always had a pair of slacks and a white shirt, tucked away somewhere because people were supposed to, but they had both needed an emergency pressing before leaving the house. Riley had pointed out that the Summer had put on more muscle since they last wore this shirt, but they hadn't said it like it was a bad thing. Replete with suspenders and hair swept artfully back from their face, Linden actually thought they looked quite nice. All things considered. "I am going to go in there, get some wine, and immediately dump it on myself. Why does anyone wear white?" they grumbled as they shut the car door, but it melted into a smile. "Chocolate does sound kind of great. And I guess if I stain my shirt I can always go for the bare chest under a leather jacket look, that's a thing, right?" Linden laughed at the thought, finding the picture in their mind absurd. Settling a bit of Riley's pink wig, they gestured to the door. "After you."

Firebringer laughs at Rowan's words, "Oh, you'll survive. Worse comes to worse, I can bulldoze us a path to an exit." You know, his whining was almost endearing. Almost.
She gives a nod of thanks to him as he opens the door for her. She steps through and takes a look around, though is a bit startled when she is immediately greeted by Archie. "Oh. Hey-" then she blushes and shakes her head, "We're not a-" she sticks out her tongue at Archie. Springs. Thinking the know a couple when they see one. Inwardly, she rolls her eyes. Then outwardly, she rolls her eyes. She didn't do subtle very well.
Others immediately begin arriving behind them and she scoots out of the way, taking that moment to better observe the place while Archie is greeting his guests. A good Summer always has the layout of a place with exits planned in their mind anyway, right? Or was she just the paranoid one?
And then Riley arrived and she had to take a visible moment to just gaze while they weren't looking. They look adorable in that pink wig... No strings. Riley's words echo in her mind for a moment. Just a one time thing, right? And they couldn't ever talk about it. Left in a ditch of her emotions that she has been trying to bury away. And what would she have done at this point anyway? Just walk up and wrap their arms around them and- Okay. We haven't even had wine yet. Oh God, what is wine going to do to me? We just avoid at all costs, right?
And yet, no matter what she did to try to push them from their mind, it was as if whenever they were about, she had no control of her head. They were always at the forefront of her mind.
She makes sure she doesn't stare long enough for Rowan to catch it. At least, she tries to. She doesn't really know if she's successful or not. Looking back at the Snowskin, she says "So, I'm gonna grab myself a bit of wine. Then we should check out the things." She says with a big smile.

“We’re not a---ctually ever seen apart, adorable really.”
He laughed it off, gave both Fire and Rowan the finger guns before motioning towards the tasting room.
“Well, help yourself, chocolate is all out and free for you to help yourself too, Wine is with the pop up bar, so just ask what they have, I made sure we had plenty of options brought in. Just have your ID ready, I wouldn't want to get busted for not carding.”
He waved off the joke.
“Either way, have fun, enjoy yourselves!”
Queue Kai, and the bland one himself.
“Kai, pleasure! Haven’t had a chance to see since when? The Wynn? Ahh! I didn’t even think of that one, right off the top of the head!”
He made a small explosion motion off the side of his head - mind blown. He was that funny.
“Sir Solomon, a pleasure.”
A bow of his head before he took the hand, firm shake.
“Liege Lord? I was not aware that Kai had sworn, but I have always been beyond busy so I don’t know a lot of things. What kind of work does she do for you? And is this an official...or a plus one situation?”
He let the insinuation hang, impressed that Kai would appear with a Knight, her Liege Lord nonetheless as her date and/or plus one. The intense accountant look really couldn’t be more far apart from the Polychromatic herself. His first thought was that Solomon was packing, if catch the Arch man's drift.
“What I really want to know though, is what won you over, the wine or the chocolate?”
He asked the knight, attempting to crack that exterior.

Kai flashed a smile at the joke and the explosion motion, letting the gregarious Chatelaine have a moment to introduce himself to the Knight. "I'm an analyst, and you never asked," she led, shooting Solomon a wink. "I just had to drag the boss out of the office for a night. One thing's for sure -- he works super hard make sure everyone's good and safe."
She glanced past the Chatelaine at the others, waving at the pairs present and mouthing the word 'hello!'

Rowan couldn't help but crack the tiniest smile when he saw how people reacted to Solomon. 'Yeah, we done been knew,' he thought. Kiths were kind of his thing.
And also couldn't help to crack a wider smile when he saw Danica's reaction to Riley. Enough that it made him ignore Archie's comment because this was More Interesting. Sure, the Oath was keeping him from saying anything, but he didn't need to talk.
He pretended to hide his shit-eating grin as he bit down on the wafer while elbowing Danica and looking in Riley's direction.
"You still want to bulldoze that path?" he asked with a chuckle as he was lured deeper inside by the promise of chocolate. Valentine's was at least good for that. The carding joke rubbed him the wrong way. Did some tell him? Did he know? No, that couldn't be. Ivory had promised not to say and FB didn't seem to get along with Archie either. He shook his head to chase away the intrusive thought.

“I need to burrow that for a show” Riley said with a laugh at the image of dumping wine on one’s self.
“But some how I think you would pull it off in a way I can only dream of”
After being offered to go first they grinned Riley and responded with dramatic flair.
“Why thank you!”
The bright one moved up the path towards the event with a smile.
“Oh BTW-” They were about to say something when someone caught their eye, Firebringer. Their stomach dropped to their feet and they nearly tripped over it. Why was she here?!
Of course she is here, you punked out from asking her to be. DUH.
Riley let out a nervous chuckle and spun in place as if to go right back towards the cab. But seeing it was already gone, they spun on their heels again and looped one arm around Linden’s and let out a laugh. They raised their hand to wave off the sudden erratic behavior.
“I signed with Archie, he’s my new manager. Not sure how it will turn out, but he seems gun hoe. Know him? Quite the character."
As they got close to Archie at the door, Riley waved.
"Evening Arch'"

Linden flapped their hand at Riley in an 'oh you,' and didn't try to hide that they were pleased by the compliment. They hung dutifully on the 'by the way', staring blankly at the moth as they turned circles; was this a catch for a contract they didn't know? As the moth's arm threaded through theirs they waited for the sensation of glamour, but it didn't come. Perplexed, they listened to the information about Archie trying to figure out how the things had been connected.
"Uh yeah, I know Archie. We met at a diner I like, had breakfast a couple of times." Their finger spun laziy in the air, describing the moths movements. "Were you... hyping yourself up to say that? I think it's really cool you have a manager, and whenever he talks about work Archie lights up; I think you're in good hands."
Speak of the devil, they grinned at their host. "The lavender suits you."

Firebringer sticks out her tongue again at Archie, "Booooo." Is her response. He knew she and Rowan weren't a thing. Not that he isn't precious, but he is a teenager precious and she wasn't into that. He needs the mom of the motley that doesn't exist yet. How did she always end up in that role? Not that she's really actually mom-ing him. Just. Being a good friend. And he acts like a kid. So, there's that.
The Elemental turns back to her friend and her face is clearly pink, but trying to hold back. "Hey. That's enough out of you." She nudges him back. "Rude."
Did Danica want to keep on that path? Well... there isn't much of a path there, is there? No strings. One time thing. If they wanted more out of it, well, they could at least say hi to her. But they seem to be avoiding her as much as she is avoiding them. Was that because they felt the same or because they thought she'd become clingy. Too many thoughts.
"Urgh. I need wine. Now." She steps over to the bar, gets her wine, and then looks at Rowan again, "Do you want anything? Are the lights too bright? Too many people?" Please complain so I can laugh at you and poke you back.
Then another thought crossed her mind. Oh god. What if they didn't believe me when I said I wasn't dating Rowan. Craaap. Urgh. Well, I guess it is what it is for now...
