He looked at Danica, and how pink she was. Her questions were leading. She wanted an out. They way he saw it, he had two choices: he could coddle her and let her run around this awkward situation until it imploded. But wasn't she Summer? Wasn't she supposed to stand her ground, face the odds? He decided he was going to be a good friend instead.
"Oh no you don't. If I dragged my sorry self all the way to this shindig, the least you can do is go and talk to them." His voice was low enough that only those close to them could hear him. His face never wavered, the same morose expression plastered across it. "You'll be fine." And she would be. The worst Riley could do was limerick Danica in front of all these Changelings for... talking to them? Or they wouldn't. Either way, the Elemental would at least know where they stand. He sighed - being the Responsible One really didn't suit him.
"I'll be in the cactus park thing outside." He waved at his friend, grabbed some wine and headed outside. He shouldn't have come.

Solomon's attention briefly flicks to the Polychromatic as Archie cracks the innocuous question. Tis the season. "Kai Rose can answer for herself, I don't think it's very gentlemanly of me to talk career over her like she's a glorified secretary," he said plainly. His head tilted, "Official or plus one? That says a lot, doesn't it. How about you, mister Hartman? I can give you a break from hosting, so you can have a night off of being beyond busy."Without waiting for an answer, Solomon turned back and opened one of the side doors for a towering chivalric figure of silver light to duck through, head swiveling as Solomon spoke to them in a low voice and nodded towards Archie. "Good evening, kind sir!" the White Knight said in a jovial tone, offering a hand. His voice had a distant echoing quality, but it was pleasant and happy to be here. "Not to worry about any disruptions, I will blend in just as well as anyone else here this evening. Point me in a direction, and you can enjoy the fine evening you have crafted as a proper majordomo." "You should introduce us to some of your friends," Solomon suggested bluntly.

Kai winked at Archie, offsetting the tension. "It was definitely the chocolate," she said with a grin as Solomon opened the door and the White Knight entered. "Wow. That's unique." She gestured at the servant with a grin to the Chatelaine. She'd never seen that one before.
"What do you say, Archie? Want to hang out and introduce Sir Solomon to some folks?"
Solomon wasn't very cordial, but he was a good connection to have... if you could deal with him being blunt as hell.

“Ah, you know, two sides, figured an opportunity to gush, the standard.”
He was a winner, a real party guy, just a treat. “Ah yes, says that we really haven’t the chance to bond, you know get some real one on one time. Get to know each other. Got any hobbies?”
A quick question that was interrupted by the Knight turning around and summoning a...knight. “I - ah, am not one to relinquish my hosting duties seeing as it is the best part of the evening. BUT, since you have been so gracious as to go to the effort, I suppose at least having a proper doorman would be nice, and I could mingle a bit more.”
Speaking of which, queue Riley and Linden. “OH my goodness! First of all - thank you Linden, that means a lot because this…”
He made motion to the whole outfit. “Is James Dean if he actually wanted to be cool. And he was actually pretty cool. Riley! The hair, the hair, the hair. Killing it. You two together? I feel like I need to up my game, geeze. Anyway, manners! Let me introduce you two to Sir Solomon, he is Ms. Rose’s guest this evening and has been kind enough to give use the services of...Large...Hob...Knight.” “Sir Solomon, this is Linden and Riley - both acquaintances and wonderful company, as well as Riley being a client of Have A. Hart. So if you are a fan of dance keep your eyes peeled because there are big things on the Horizon. How about we head in for some food and drink though rather than crowd the lobby...Fire and Rowan have already made their way in. "He began to move. “So tell me Sir Solomon, what do you drink? My guess would be red but I am going to venture a white here.”

The moth chuckled as Archie laid on the compliments thick on to Lindens look, James dean? They could see it. At the mention of their hair, they did a small hair flip while resting the flat of their hand-like table beneath their chin.
"Why thank you, Archie-" The Darkling stopped mid-sentence at the approach of the towering Suit of armor. Glancing for a moment to Linden, before flicking their obsidian eyes between the Ogre and the Hob. A silent battle raged in their mind. Who would win. It was hard to say.
Returning from the fleeting distraction. Riley looked to Sir Solomon and Kai with a polite smile.
"Kai its good to see you again, you look lovely tonight." They turned and gave a nod a polite nod to Sir Solomon.
" Good evening sir" the darkling felt uncertain how to React to Solomon, the last they met it had been uncomfortable and rather serious. Nor do they think they made a great impression on the cop.
"Don't mind Archie he like blowing the horn. It's all just a work in progress at the moment. "
Hearing the mention of Dani and Rowan caused Riley to let out a nervous chuckle.
"I thought I saw them!" They say trying to sound nonchalant as possible.

The Ogre's gaze turned to the floor, momentarily bashful in the face of Archie's compliment but recovered quickly, snapping one of their suspenders at him with a wink. It felt good, arriving with a friend to something hosted by a friend, or associate, or whatever Linden and Archie were to each other. Comrades? Whatever they were, they were known and well intentioned toward each other.
Linden's lips parted in a silent whistle at the hob knight and they cocked a gauntleted finger gun at them. "Very sharp look, sir." The humor in their expression faded to something more respectful as introductions were made, inclining their head deeply to Solomon. "Hey Kai, good to see you. Sir." Despite it being a social event and outside the range of his duties, it felt inappropriate to engage in something as trivial as small talk with the Hunter of the Longest Day. The idea of him being there as Kai's guest assuaged some discomfort, but he looked so different from the last time they'd seen him Linden was thrown. Saying too little was always more appealing than saying too much.
It was easy to turn their attention back to Riley as Archie talked about their work together. "Sounds like you're being modest to me," they teased the moth. "Let's grab a drink and say hi to Fire, it's been a minute for me." Once a wineglass was in their hand they raised it to Archie before beginning to slip away. "Thanks for hosting!"

Fire isn't so much scared to go talk to Riley as she is scared of the idea of walking up and being rejected in a public and then having to deal with a mass of feelings around a bunch of people and no where to decompress and-and-and... Danica's mind is a mess. Nope. Can't do it. Not to day. Maybe another day. I... I'll text them. Yeah. I'll totally do that.
She looks at Rowan and groans, squinting at him in an annoyed, friendly, but also wants to nudge him hard in the ribs kind of way. "Fine." Probably not. "I'll... think about it." I'll definitely think about it. All night. Fail to do so and then regret it for the rest of the evening and pretty much every day afterwards. NO. Stop it. Urgh. When did I get like this?
Of course, sometimes a little glamour messes with the head a little bit and nudges things along... but Dani doesn't know that.
The Elemental makes her way with her drink over to where chocolate is. Gorging sounds nice. Gorge. Go see pretty lights. Maybe try? She gets herself some fudge and looks around to see if she could even find Riley. Maybe it is because she's kind of short, but she doesn't actually see them.

As Linden mention catching up with Fire, the Moth needed an out. They weren't ready for that right after Imbolc.
"Excuse me," they say to Kai and Sir Solomon. Before looking at Archie. " This looks fantastic, don't let me leave before getting a chat with ya'" Lastly, they looked to Linden. " I'll catch up. I think I saw Rowan wander off. Was going to catch him." The Moth shot the ogre a glance, holding up their hands.
"I'll behave. "
They smiled with a smirk of someone who was about to get into trouble. They had a plan, and starting a fight with Rowan was on the docket. Then gain their relationship had been turbulent at best. But small steps, right? Heading for where they saw Rowan, Riley passes Fire on the way out, hard to miss the elemental. They raised their hand in a quick greeting, flashed a smile, and moved on to find Rowan. Hopefully, Linden would pin down Firebringer for a hot second while Riley sorted this.

Hobbies?
"No."
Kai's continued cadence of 'the girl next door' as she happily presented the isolated Inquisitor like they were totes bffs was more than a little jarring. Solomon didn't seem to cue into the bit, opening his mouth to explain it's just a Hobgoblin, before Archie made good on the request and was boasting the sharp looking Darkling and easy-natured Ogre.
"Depends on the dance," he says to Archie's comment on their talents, while slowly raising his hand to properly meet the Moth outside of the realm of work — and Lucky Jack's suspension — only to drop it as they fluttered off.
"Hi, Linden-" His expression tightened as the Summer immediately grabbed alcohol and tried to fade away from the Fairest's spotlight. His eyes momentarily looked up, not so much as rolling them entirely, before glancing at Kai.
"I don't drink," he said stiffly to Archie, looking a little lost and more frustrated by the moment.
He gave up before he even had started, and lit a cigarette.

Kai smiled at the various folks greeting her, offering appropriate greetings in reply. Unlike Solomon, who seemed to be a bit stiff, the Polychromatic was tracking the goings-on in the room. People were giving him greetings, but they were nervous. Scared, even. Frankly, even a tricked-out Solomon was still Sir Solomon, the Knight of Scales. It was a big deal meeting him, and for those who might have something to hide, it might not be an easy hang.
That was okay. The right people were present. Time to let Archie off the hook and help Solomon go in the right direction.
"Water and some dark chocolate would be great, Archie, but I'm not going to ask you to serve us -- you've done so much already. We can take care of it. Thank you so much for everything you've done here."
Bring it back into the waters where Solomon was more familiar. She flashed the Knight a smile, a bit of pep and a reminder that this was worthwhile. He just needed to try. Every person knew how to socialize a little, and her own aura was aimed at helping him chill out and hate this less.
"Up for a meet and greet with the Court, sir?"
A smaller group would help. Archie had clearly done something to get his back up about propriety. It was something that could be worked around with less exposure, and making it a moment for a Summer Court chat had the added benefit of letting Archie and Solomon mutually off the hook.

Archie made a motion as they came through the tasting room, and noticed the cigarette made an appearance. No smoking indoors, let's try to fix this.
“How about we catch a breather on the patio?"
Eyebrow raise, kind offer, willing to lead the way, I mean how could one say no? Well Archie assumed there was a way that Solomon could find a way to say no. He just wanted to imagine that his gesture would be taken in kind as he continued to broach the most important guest at his party (at least by rank).
“Kai, how about you grab the whole gang and we can grab a nip and a nosh on our way out. Place is covered in chocolate. Plus always fun to enjoy these kinds of treats with group”
A hostly chuckle.
“I have to respect a man who doesn’t drink, surprised I found a taste in myself, the household was mostly dry sans wine for special occasions. My Bubbie told my Zayda that if he was a lush like her brother God would not look kindly on them. So a big deal.”
A shrug and smile.
“Though I think the thought of being embarrassed in Temple was more of a motivating factor sometimes, I am not going to deny her piety.”
If followed, he was able to sweep up some delightful goodies, darks for the Rose Ms. Rose - hah - and a mix which he would offer to the anxious officer before they would be set to make their way outside.

Solomon's attention sweeps from Linden, to Firebringer, "Once they're finished up. Linden's situation seemed urgent. You can drink if you want, Rose, I wasn't meaning to set a precedent."
Kai was agreeable, and offering to ease them in — letting him take a backseat was appreciated, especially when they were clearly avoiding him and forcing socializing was just going to make things more awkward.
How Loki was surrounded by people when he broke bones at the drop of a hat was beyond him. Maybe Stockholm?
His hand grabbed a chocolate without looking at what kind it was, rolling it between his fingers as Archie Hartmann stuck around. The Fairest speaking about trauma from alcoholism threw him off. As far as he understood it, that was an inappropriate topic to broach with a stranger.
"Temple? You're Jewish?" he managed, going with the easier thread.

"Sure, when they're done," Kai agreed, following Solomon's wish along with Archie's suggestion. If Linden had shit to do with Firebringer, that was fair enough. They could meet and greet later. She took a glass of wine and lifted it slightly in the Knight's direction in salute before taking a sip. She sniffed the bouquet of the drink as she let Archie speak about himself. Apparently, the severe Fairest had found something of interest.

Riley emerged from the Gardens. At first, they were heading toward Linden and Fire. But the two summers seemed too thick as thieves for the moment. A smile crossed their lips watching them, sometimes you need to stop to spot the moments of joy. Best not ruin some good chatter.
Riley came back towards the entrance glancing around for Archie before noticing he was speaking with Solomon. Than they spotted Kai.
"Hey" the darkling raised a hand as they approached. They moved to the side closer to Kai, giving the Polychromatic a smile.
It had dawned on the Moth the two hadn't had much time to talk last few months. Ran across each other enough at events like this, but never a time to chat. Riley glanced over to Solomon and Archie, trying to piece together what the almost polar opposite men were ... chatting about before turning back to Kai.
"So. Solomon?" They raise an eye brow at the question.
