Pip pip.
Two mountain sized snow white scoops of vanilla flavored chocolate chips sprinkled creamy delicacy. She's Captain James Cook, and the ice-cream aisle is the uncharted New Zealand. Who knows how many hours after practice she's spent in search of a store with bargain prices. This is the holy grail of organic diary supremacy. She can feel the cows moo and sing happily. Thanks Uncle Ben ( from great power comes great responsibility, not that Ben), thanks Uncle Jerry. She's really overdressed for groceries shopping, but never get between her low calories-no carbs ice-cream and her, especially after an audition. She rushes to the last tub like a gold digger would rush for the last nugget. Her hand is almost on the prize, that's the last pint. And then...

The aisle flashes momentarily, making the linoleum sparkle like the soft waves of a lake catching sunlight. A small youth that could easily mistaken for a high-schooler, if not for the time of day, plucks the tub without much thought. Her humming and distracted look makes it obvious that the white-hot, radiating hair likely hid earbuds.
She frowns at the label, spinning it while reading the ingredients, before Titania's obvious presence forces her attention away from the task. "Oh! Were you going for this?" she asked, a little louder than necessary, before she freed an ear that blasted Lorde from the tiny speaker.
A wide, charitable grin is offered along with the desert as a peace offering. Aside from the obvious supernatural marker of her mane, her eyes had a ring of light around her pupils, irises glittering as it diffused, "I missed the 'dairy' part," she explained, turning back to grab the vegan brand.
"You new here?" she asked over her shoulder, trying to keep things casual. "I don't think I've seen you at any of the holiday parties."
If this was First Contact, this might get awkward, but her motley was around the corner skiing around with a shopping cart.

Her long neck jerks back all of a sudden, liquid gold widens as it catches sight of the sun but it doesn't hurt. Rather, her two orbital formations reshape into Question marks. She jumps with a soft squeal. Surprise, gotcha. The little ghost reminds her of a Firefly, to ensnare with your net and bottle her up, such is a worthy goal. She flashes a timid smile, voicing a "Thank you" as she accepts the gift; not unlike the caterpillars she used to receive from the other kids when she was a child. But she's listening, her song too is reshaping its tune to the stranger's one. And the temptation to hum along is strong. "Yes", she says with a tinge of embarrassment. Her gaze looking down if just for an instant. She's new here. She's not new, that's it, not young. Though she's older than this stranger. Wait, why she's even going there? "Arrived recently. Just presented myself to the admission office a couple weeks ago", she outstreches her hand. Introductions... what should she do next? Wait for the other's name or present her own?

The other Fairest stood with the proper purchase, bouncing on her heels. There is a brief look of concern as the woman signaled just how 'new' she was, quickly blanketed with a reassuring smile. There's a pause as she tries to pull something encouraging to say.
"I hear your manager is actually quite nice!" The hand is taken without hesitation as she cups it with both hands, the tub tucked under her arm, "Welcome to Vegas, most people know me by Cinderella. I don't look like much, but I help out with security," she chuckles. "This place is pretty relaxed, though. Mostly just internal investigations with their own departments." Despite her age, she sounds surprisingly confident, speaking with a voice that is used to some level of authority.
"Are you working with anyone specifically? To get you settled?"

"Yes", she shakes the girl's hand and nod in unison with the maddened metal structures, as if it was some sort of choreography. "I'm Titania, it's a pleasure to meet you", if just for a moment her face grows dark, "No... not yet. I was told to set an appointment with Mr. Nimbus. I'm a singer". The tube of ice-cream disappears into her shopping bag with the rest of her worry. For once she's glad to have made a new acquaintance. The girl was about her age and she looked like somebody dependable. Well...

"Oh cool! In nova fert animus mutatas dicere formas corpora," she rattled off, blinking, "Or do you like Shakespeare?"
Her mouth opens in a silent "Ah" at the mention of waiting on an appointment with the Knight of Rains. "You're in the right city, then. They're pretty good at hooking people up, but if he's taking a while," she fished through the small, wallet-sized Kate Spade purse to produce a card for a dance academy. "Ignore the company, it's the guy who teaches there. He's a Bishop," she explained, double-checking the print before offering it to Titania. "Super nice. He's not caught up in, like...the politics?"
Cinder's eyes keep wandering back to the floating nodes. "I gotta ask, are those servitors?" She squinted, trying to assess the element, and likely wondering where the woman got her hands on so much mercury.

She's not entirely sure of why she's quoting Ovid. Alas, she decides to humor her. "Hmm yes", she says, "Both". She nods, cradling the card in both her hands, brushing a thumb against the letter-print, "Mr. Mitchell Carr", she reads aloud, seemingly hypnotized by the patterns. "I will do that", she chirps in a crystalline voice, "Thank you". Even though her assurance doesn't sound so genuine. Between humans, everything is politics.
Quicksilver morphs into two exclamation marks. Servitude is a taboo for many Lost, too many echoes of their past. "N...no", she says, almost as she was defending herself from the accusation of a crime, "They are my siblings"

Cinder chuckled at the joke—it was a joke, right?
Her eyes briefly flicked to the sound of shouting and a grocery cart falling over the next aisle over, followed by snickering. She looked tired as she gritted her teeth, "Um, anyway."
Watching the glittering Disney Princess look so startled at the question, she quirked an eyebrow. "You'd know the one, that bends an element into an idea," she ventured, holding up a hand against her head to indicate 'Crown'. "It's cool, either way. Are you with a group...? Have you lived here before? There's lots of stuff to check out."

She shakes her head, her brows wiggle into a curious expression. "Crown?", she asks. "Nope" The falling cart solicits a worried scowl, before she's back to the light-bulb. "No, no, no. They're natural", she says, her cheeks taking on a pink hue. From the frozen food corner comes a sneer. "I'm afraid I haven't familiarized myself with the city. So far I've only gone shopping for furniture"

"Well like you said, it's only been a couple of weeks. I research like crazy, can't help it," Cinder responded. Whether her own embarrassment was genuine or just an act was unclear, but the blush was gone as she tucked her hair and cleared her throat.
"I can help if you want, most of my campus stuff is done and September is pretty light on coursework," she said. "What do you do for fun?"
At Titania's scowl, she shrugs, forcing an assured grin. "That's probably my friends," she walked to peer around the corner, "Y'all all right? Can we not get kicked out this time? Cool?"
A lanky fellow, taller than Cinder and not looking much older pats her on the shoulder. He had a wyrd chimerical combination of antlers and rabbit ears. The jackelope looked just as annoyed as the other motley member, before he briefly spied Titania. He gave a nervous wave before walking backwards, back to the initial aisle he came from like he had just interrupted something.

The two pillars scroll up and down excited. She puts a hand to her mouth, "So fluffy. May I touch them...", but Donnie Darko is already gone. "Spiffy. I'd love to", and in the blink of an eye, she's already hand in hand with her new friend. As she leads her to the cashier, she can't help but shower her with questions, "Coursework? What are you studying? Are those your friends? I'm a singer. Oh and I read for fun. The classics mostly, oh and mystery novels... the forbidden kind. Yoga too, oh and I'm a great dancer. What about you, what were you listening to?", astonishing that she fit all those words within the span of a single breath. But again, she's a singer.

Cinder blinked at Titania's request, "Hah, I mean, you can meet them if you want. I think he got that you're not someone whose been here long. It's kind of rude to crowd...But he's with the Mirror," she said quietly with a shrug. That was the nice way of putting it. The Oath could be detected with a simple focus, but that didn't mean that the new face would be happy to suddenly be swarmed by strangers. That was the Twilit Page's department, Cinderella was just a talker and assumed he knew better.
As the other woman was suddenly touching her and steering, she gave a nervous grin. "Oop! Um, okay. Yeah, there's four of us actually. I'm studying political science and public administration," she said, relaxing a bit. It was hard to stay guarded around the woman's cheerful affect. "I love books! Though, mostly it's articles these days, or stuff I shouldn't be reading."
As they passed the aisle where the rest of the motley was, the jackelope had gathered the groceries in his own basket, blinking as the metallic Spring proceeded to lead Cinderella away. He opened his mouth to say something, before sidestepping as the cart was sprinted forward. The youngest, a harpy who looked like she was just entering her teens, was keeping her balance in the tray meant for toddlers, surfing as the other let go of the handle, stuffing his hands in his pockets and waiting for the harpy to realize her peril.
The harpy swore loudly, laughing as she bailed and allowed the cart to crash into the clothing rack. She shoved the other that looked to be dusted with gold scales and serpentine eyes.
"Uhh- never did Yoga," Cinder continued, colouring, "There's an interesting discussion about the cultural appropriation with European and North American businesses having coopted the art into a huge industry..." she trailed off, realizing now probably wasn't the time to get on a soapbox. "I suck at dance, you should show me how to do it properly. I was listening to Lorde." She nodded, satisfied that she had checked all the boxes. She shivered as the Fall courtier caught up, the light around them tuning to dawn as the air swirled a bit. The vegan ice cream tub was starting to bend from being stuck under her arm, and she handed it to the older student. "This is Tanner," she offered. He gave Titania a polite nod, more invested in looking to see of a security guard would manifest from their motley's immature antics.

"Coopted you say?", she asks perplexed, "Well, everybody wants to rule the World 🎶 ", quicksilver morphs again into musical notes. Her voice though, it could melt the polar caps. Mr. Tanner is spared a thoughtful look and a greeting. Her attention however is to her little firefly, as she leads her to the cash register and swipes her credit card to the cashier. "My treat tonight", she flashes a million watts smile.

Cinderella clapped excitedly before holding her hands together, "Beautiful!" She paused as the woman appeared to be offering to pay? "Oh, wow that isn't necessary," she said, flushing and unsure if it was rude to brush her off. Tanner shrugged, adjusting the sleeves of his jacket, before putting the tub on the conveyer as an easy compromise. He was apparently used to his friend being a little too worried about everything. The jackelope offered a polite 'thanks', before heading back to herd the other two with the rest of the groceries.
"We should hang out sometime once you're not too busy settling in," Cinder continued, "We stay on campus, up in Paradise."

For the most part, she doesn't suspect anything foul. The cashier swipes her card and she inputs her pincode. Her newfound friend firmly under her arm. Of course they're lively, but again, it's the spring of youth.
GhostwalkerOggi alle 14:05 @Dicecord-CoD roll 2 Dicecord-CoD BOT Oggi alle 14:05 @Ghostwalker rolled 2 dice and got 1 success. 7 8 "Definitely", she says while putting the card back in her expensive wallet, "We should trade numbers. What are your instagram and Tik Tok handles?" "Lunch... Sunday?", she says unsure.
