"Too kind, Eis. Mr. Hartmann deserves the praise. All of this, and my opportunities of his creation."
Riley said, standing up from their table and setting down the crystal cocktail glass.
"I have my skills, but they have no merit without the opportunities Archie has made. Speakin' of"
Courteous was the name of the game, even if Riley got the sense the teacher held some disdain for the Bright One. The darkling gave the Autumn courtier a look over.
"I hear Archie has brought you on for some research. Correct?"

“Yes. I suppose you’d be one the the parties privileged with that knowledge...” she says, narrowing her eyes for a moment. Riley is part of Archie’s Motley? That’s... that’s something. Something indeed. It changes things, somewhat. Eis can only imagine how poorly it would go over if she upset Riley at their own debut event only to be sharing space with them soon after.
“Humble of you. And commendable. Giving Archie so much credit. There’s no arguing that he’s rather capable. And we all stand to benefit from cooperation.” Her words are flat. Not insincere. Simply... lacking a certain enthusiasm. The frosty Fairest begins shelving nearly a dozen quips for when they’re needed. That ‘when’ wouldn’t be tonight. Nor any time in the next four months. Perhaps, in a more private setting, the two of them could come to an understanding.
“Well, then! It really isn’t my place to impose myself on my host’s hospitality. I’m going to have to find myself a drink. Give me half a moment, would you? I promise I’ll be back shortly.” She smiles apologetically, then makes a quick scan for the nearest server. She spins off without another word, and, after a moment, returns with a double martini.
“Here we are.” Another smile. “Enough about Archie, though. Tell me about you, dear. I won’t do you the disservice of pretending I know anything about this debut of yours. Better to hear it from the source.” She sips her drink, then returns as natural a smile as she can muster.

“Eis, so happy you could make it! Have you met Mitch? Officer, and someone I have a great deal of support for as a senior member of our organization.”
He gave a quick introduction as he offered Mitch a seat at the same time, and made several of the bottles on the table available for the Bishop should he now choose to indulge.
“I hope we aren’t interrupting, but I would love to bask in this tale.”

Archie noted the immediate change in demeanor. The Fairest's mood dropped as his mouth twitched, head turning to take in the rest of the attendees. His lips parted in a silent, confused question, complexion greying slightly as he folded his arms as if to defend himself from the sudden maelstrom of needy courtiers. After a beat, he reset his affect with a shiver, focusing back on the Chatelaine. Light from stained glass splays across the table as a few blue and bronzed birds swept above the pool to take a drink to announce the other Emerald. Even with Archie's Mantle influence, Mitchell's footsteps still ghosted the cement as crystals pierced through the flesh of his heels and ankles. The Swan smiles at the newer Autumn courtier, though was unaware of her association due to the hardened Mask. The swirling wave patterns embedded in stone flesh glittered like diamond veins next to the torches; something Riley had not seen before. The stark white eyes were also a little off-putting compared to the warm grey from a month ago, sapping any colour and humanity that was left in his features as the Dancer moved closer to Faerie. "No, we haven't. Pleasure to meet you, Eis," he said, offering a hand in a flowing motion more fit for a ballet sequence.

The Twilight Dancer picked up their cocktail, looking back to Eis at her request for further information.
"I landed a roll in the cirque du Soleil show Zummanity. Over at the Newyork Newyork. " The Moth was uncertain how much about the Entertainment in town Eis would know so clarified further. "Its a Cabaret show" They said with a nod.
As Mitch approached Riley turned their attention over towards him and gave him a warm greeting.
"Good evenin', Mitch," Riley said with a soft smile and a slight pause. They couldn't help but notice their light dance off the diamond-like elements of the Dancer's flesh. He had changed since the last time they saw each other.

Archie's appearance at the table is certainly tolerable. The man seems to build bridges between people and their desires. Very 'Spring', isn't it? The statuesque figure accompanying him, heralded by so much avian flutter, is another story. Not that she has any intention of immediately levying judgment. That would be silly. She nods to Archie and extends her fingers to Mitch, palms down. Eis is a lady, after all.
"I go by Ms. Rebecca Goodman this evening. And the pleasure is shared, dear. Archie really does keep good company."
Eis then shoots Archie a coy look. "Not at all! Riley was doing me a kindness in detailing their work in this 'Zumanity'. I haven't played patron to a Cabaret show in quite some time." Namely; ever. "So I'd be elated if you'd tell me more." she finishes, eyes on the Moth. Her brow arches slightly, betraying - or perhaps advertising - her curiosity. A little more information might just put the enigma that is Riley in a new light. Anything to remain civil in tone and not ruin anyone's evening. Tempting as that may be.

“Before they gush I do encourage everyone to top up even if they are topped off. If they are going to be charging me out the wazoo for bottles, I am going to make sure that at the very least I make them empty.”
Temperance was not the name of the game this evening and the show was in full effect, and even while Riley was the Star the spotlight of the mantle really did glow. Maybe it was the light that gave the whole idea a little more umph when the Fairest mentioned it, but when one sat with Spring, wouldn’t it be rude to not do as Spring does.
Also,
“Tickets by the way? Some of the best seats, got them as part of the deal. I can get both of you hooked up Rebecca, Mitch. My treat.”
Truly they were good seats. Truly it was a great show. They should take this offer too.

Despite his rank the Dancer takes Eis' and and indulges the gesture seamlessly, hand cool amd smooth to the touch while offering compliments and generally having fun with the exchange.
After the fiasco that was January, Archie had become quite familiar with Mitchell Carr. The rejection of alcohol that fateful evening might have been a professional choice, but they were of the Verdant Crown and it would be lying for one to ignore either a spiritual or medical obligation. The way the Fairest had downed an entire pint of tequila when his cohorts had pressed a narrative that demanded he answer to, was a story in itself. The man hadn't even flinched. And then promptly disappeared without warning or reassurance.
Archie knew Mitchell had problems with saying no.
But what could hurt? He had handled his office and missions with the grace he was known for, and was as chipper as they came. He couldn't deny the power trip that came from nudging the glass into the hand that had rejected him the first time around. With his new countenance, the Dancer could loosen up and stop flagellating himself with the leftover demands of a church upbringing. Maybe he would even make a friend, instead of being everyone's watchful therapist.
"You've been doing awesome, Riley. I've seen one of your shows it looks like a lot of hard work."
Carr blinked as he looked around again, still processing the dread that came from his new intense Desire. He even felt guilty sitting down, recognizing faces and seeing bad choices play out, the crystals needling from the veins of his skin in response. The drink was downed on muscle memory alone, a look a resigned guilt flickering across his features like he was disappointed with himself.
Realizing that he was sapping from Archie's offer, his smile was warm and genuine. "You'd probably be able to get better seats than me just getting invited by one of the staff," he chuckled. "What do you think, Ms. Goodman, want to go?"
There wasn't any sarcasm or emphasis on the sudden formality. The Snowskin had made a request about her name and he didn't have an issue respecting that.

"The show is an exploration of human sexuality. Using a variety of acts of burlesque, dance, and gymnastics in true Cirque fashion. The fishbowl and the orgy are popular acts." Riley says with a playful laugh.
"You've seen it?!" Riley says, looking to Mitch, both flattered and excited. Mitch was a stellar dancer, and his skills were to be admired. Riley couldn't help but get a coy flirtatious smile. "Thank you, it's been a lot of work. I still have more to learn...but honestly, it's been life-changing" the twilight dancer glanced at Archie with a radiant smile.
Three years ago, Riley had escaped. Their life in tatters, their world upside down. They never had thought they would be here, a member of Cirque, doing burlesque. A dream job. This had been made possible by Archie. For the first time since their return that the Moth felt like their mortal life was finally finding its footing. In no small part to their friend Archie.
"But I agree you should join Mr.Carr; it's an experience, and the company of Mitch alone is worth the show. " Mitch was pleasant to be around and agreeable enough even for the likes of the cold demeanored Eis.
"Maybe even Mitch could give you insight into the history of art forms being used on stage," Riley says, looking over to Mitch with a wink. The Moth didn't put a second thought to Mitch drinking; Riley didn't know much of his prior history, and in truth, hardly thought much on the time they got him to down a bottle. Besides, tonight was a party in Vegas.

This Mitch is charming. Though, Eis supposes, it comes with the territory for Springs. They're all some combination of charm, sex, indulgence and pride, aren't they? She slips a glance at Riley again, over her inner monologue, while hiding behind her drink. Pride and sex indeed. Free spirits aren't really an issue for her; it's the publicity that makes her cringe. A respectable level of audacity, to be sure. And she's no stranger to the rhetoric they'd likely supply in defense. 'Shine so bright They can't see you'? But really... is it worth the risk?
But here comes Archie with a sweeping gesture. Unbelievable. Oh, she can't fault him for being a magnanimous host. Truly. She can't. But why is it, every time Springs are involved, there's so much bloody drinking? If Spring Herself had asked only that her adherents revel in drink to wear her Mantle, Eis would be well on her way to knighthood.
Lovely.
Still, what can she do? She's already set her mind to being polite, and now Archie's 'concerned' his expensive alcohol will go to waste. Alright, then, Archie. Have it your way. Throwing caution to the wind - or perhaps proving to herself she can handle it - she finishes what remains of her martini. Her glass, cradling only the olive now, is gingerly set on the table before giving the performer her attention again. "Indeed? Well, I’m happy for you. Everyone must find a way to keep moving. Though you'd be hard pressed to find me in a situation like that." She lets out a short laugh, covering her mouth as she does. "I lack the talent for it."
Archie's offer, Riley's second and Mitch's genuine interest leave her little choice. "Why not?" she answers Mitch's question at last. "If an officer can make time for me, I see no reason to refuse. I might even enjoy myself." Her smile, unclouded by her haunted Fae visage, could very well be described as warm.
Her smile twists into something a little more mischievous when she sets her sights on Archie again. In a crisp gesture, she withdraws the speared olive from her glass and pulls it from its skewer behind her teeth. "Mr. Hartman, I do believe you mentioned drinks. And one can't toast another's success with an empty glass, can they?" Her gaze holds on Archie daring - and all but demanding - him to pour a lady a drink. Oh yes; she's going to remember this. One of these days she'll get back at him, too.

“Rebecca, when you wear green everything is at the very least more fun. Plus who else is suited to making dreams come true?”
He looked to and nodded towards Riley who was currently the perfect example of dreams
being chased and found.
For Eis, it was a matter of simply nodding and fetching a bottle from the table, and offering a whole bottle of Hennessy, waiting for a glass to present itself or for Eis to take it. This was a Spring party, and as much as she thought she would remember things the night was young and the bar was stocked.
“Speaking of dreams, Mitch, have you ever thought of taking a promotion? I can’t think of anyone more deserving...You really did save us out there a few months back.”

The Fairest flushed a bit, nodding the affirmative with a chuckle at Riley's excitement before beaming at the regal Snowskin.
"Art history? I'm not the most academic person in the world," he laughed, tucking some of his hair, "Most of it's osmosis with learning all the movement. Maybe at some point I'll officially qualify as an expert on Elementals."
There's a quick toast to Archie's praise to the tenants of Verdant Crown, before he coordinates with all three of them for a convenient evening. Eis is given a card as an out is she wasn't comfortable putting his personal number in her contacts list, explaining he's pretty easy to find in the Freehold due to his position with the Bishopric of Blackbirds. The woman seemed very invested in her boundaries and he didn't want to put her in a spot of peer pressure.
When Archie brings up 'saving them', the Dancer stills, staring off for a moment as he puts the drink down while a new vein of diamond blooms from his eye to his chin, arching around the temple. A crystalline wing forces its way through the wound, attempting to unfurl as Mitchell winces, hand smoothing it back to non-existence as if nursing an ocular migraine.
"Thanks Archie, but your team did most of the work. I don't remember January that well," he said quietly, blinking away the refracting colour as he downed a fresh glass. It wasn't chugging; he just treated it like it wasn't any more potent or exciting than juice. "Snow's more qualified to lead the Bishopric. I'm more of a glorified life coach compared to a PhD." His tone wasn't pitiable or self deprecating, remaining upbeat as if the lapse hadn't happened.

“Riley,” Wayland’s voice is warm but quiet, she doesn’t want to interrupt the conversation they’re all clearly in the middle of, just get a portion of the Fairest’s attention. She’s approached from an open space to the side, still damp from the pool despite a quick toweling-off, having donned her outerwear again over her swimsuit. “Hey, congrats,” she goes on with a smile, pulling out a chair nearby the moth and dropping into her seat.
Her attention stays with the Darkling for a while, but then it flicks to the rest of the party that has gathered here. Archie’s face is familiar, but the other two are not. She listens a moment, trying to figure out what it is they’re discussing so she can catch up, maybe contribute something.

"We all find our places, in the end, I imagine," The moth said simply in response to Eis's thoughts on talent and find a way to move on.
"Well then, Archie can oblige to arrange a viewing, " Riley said graciously. Looking to Archie with an approving nod before their attention shifted to Mitch.
"Leadership can look like different things. And If you ask me, guidance is one of those options."
The Twilight dancer was about to speak again when the approaching blacksmith caught their attention.
"Ramona! Welcome!" They moved over to shake hands if offered. They weren't sure if Wayland was using their mortal or fae name this evening, so they played it safe.
"Can I offer you a drink? Oh, Introductions! You know Archie, This is Rebecca, she is a teacher. And This is Mitch, a self-proclaimed life coach but also a very talented dancer. "

Eis smirks at Archie's comment. True enough. She takes one last tip of her glass to free it of any lingering martini and offers it up to Archie for the Hennessy. Let the libations begin. She isn't precisely being forced to partake, but the pressure to maintain a good public face is strong. And it's Spring's time. For a little while longer. She raises her glass to Mitch's toast and sets her eyes on the Dancer. History, in all its forms, is a subject Eis could converse over at length. Even if Riley's previous assessment of the man's talents is inaccurate. Praise seems to wind its way to him through the twisting streams of niceties. Even to the point of Archie suggesting the man move up another notch in the Spring Court.
"Absolutely." she answers Riley, eager to move on from the subject. Time isn't on her side to pull the rising star from their 'public' and dig deeper into the matter, what with everyone and their brother likely on their way to offer them praise. So why not let the conversation flow wherever it's headed?
Eis gives the newly arrived Blacksmith a little wave with her free hand - since she's committed to keeping a drink in the other. She's seen her around, but their interactions have been close to non-existent. A fact she'd likely have no choice but to remedy in the upcoming months. And, if she's honest with herself, she probably won't mind. Summer's traditions will almost certainly hold a different 'flavor'; one she doesn't have to feel indignant about. Her own philosophies tie in very well to the tune of 'sticking it to the man'. At least when the 'man' in question is represented by Them.
"Good to meet you, Ramona. You don't strike me as 'one who wears Green'." she slips Archie another grin at the adage. She could just as easily included some clever twist of words to identify her own Court. But let's face it; its so much more enjoyable to leave others guessing. One more way for the Fairest keep her advantage in conversation.
