Shit, he just knocked Archie cold. But it wasn’t a wild, vicious blow. It was… calculated. Controlled. And she could barely lay hands on him. There’s no way she’s pulling him off Archie if he doesn’t want to go. And there doesn’t seem to be a need for it anymore; if the stranger wanted to hurt Archie worse than this, he would’ve already done it.
And now Riley’s up in Loki’s face, and there are phone cameras locked on the confrontation, and a voice is quietly at her back. She turns to look, a quick glance that becomes a lingering one as she sees Kai’s face. Wayland’s scowl turns darker. Less wrathful, more angry. More resentful. More despairing. Not of Kai. Of the situation.
She turns her gaze back to the confrontation and takes a step back towards Kai. It’s a painful step. Leaving Riley, one of her friends in the Freehold, to stand alone. But Kai’s right, it’s not her story.

The Elemental blinked back at the Fairest once Wayland stepped back, patting Archie's face to rouse him. It wasn't gentle, but it wasn't a motion packed with malicious intent either. He wasn't out yet, and Loki wasn't done.
Clearly the group here didn't get it, which made the entire thing pointless. "You're gonna apologize to Carr," he said, gesturing behind him to the Dancer, "For whatever the fuck Desire you gave him. Because I bet that wasn't his choice, was it?"
The fight was done, he was starting to stand now.
"Then you're gonna apologize to Agrippa for the indentured servitude bullshit, and Sweeney for trying to force him to turn on his brother with the same nonsense you did to Carr. Or we're going to have another talk, yeah?" The flaming socket was aimed at Riley, reading their reaction to see if the Darkling was complicit in this scandal. "Don't worry, I'm leaving. God help you if your companion needed to answer for his rampant bullshit against our community. Congratulations, though. This wasn't about you."
He shook his head, gesturing for Nathaniel to back off, unless Linden had other plans.

Linden didn’t question it when Prasad stepped aside-- whatever had changed in the moments just before, one less person between the Ogre and their motleymate was gravy. But a second later the feeling of being dismissed rose, as if now that Loki was standing everything was over. The charging Metalflesh wasn’t a threat; no status, no ability to wind back time, no kind of deterrent.
They’d seen the video of someone who could only be Loki beheading one of the people from the desert fiasco, and they’d watched him lash out and break a friend’s rib. It wasn’t smart to want someone like that to see them as a threat, but as their fist swung for him it was all Linden wanted.

Some molten uranium flecked from the impact as the Ogre charged and knocked the shorter Lost in the face as he turned around to face them. Surrounding mundies jeered, happy their fight video wasn't over by the time everyone had their screens up. A few people who knew who Loki was had made themselves scarce, but it was rare for the normal party-goer. The group that had hung out with Linden earlier chanted for them to Fuck 'Em Up!
Archie's hired security were doing their job, but it would take some time to move through the crush of bodies when the assault had only happened less than a minute ago. The Knight Commander wiped the split that had cut across his cheekbone from Linden's iron fist.
"How you wanna do this?" he asked plainly. There wasn't any peacocking to the question; he couldn't tell if the Ogre wanted to continue to throw down, wanted a full blown duel, or was done with their own right to Wrath.

A low rage-laugh vibrated in Linden's chest, itching to hit him again. "Fuck. Off," was all they growled in response, eyes boring into his. There was tension in every inch of them, not making a move to take another swing but body language screaming that they would if he tried anything more.

It didn't really matter if you were desensitized to violence, or were surrounded by the Seeming on the daily. An enraged Ogre rumbling at you to get the fuck out of there was worse than a charging grizzly, and Linden's expression wasn't any less forgiving. Loki blinked with his good eye, showing his hands in a placating gesture as he harmlessly continued to step away.
Linden felt light sweep across them as they realized the basilisk was quietly assessing, like a naga taking a measure. It was eerie in its animalistic coldness, and they realized the other wasn't an Ogre at all despite the size. Prasad gave Liden a wide berth, pupils thin as his head swung excitedly to track the racing warm bodies that booed and poked for more. Loki waved his hands tiredly at the security, shouting he was going while elbowing Prasad as the snake tongue started to flick.

As soon as the Chevaliers had appropriate distance and mundane attention was solely on the warrior trio, Mitchell threaded the Wyrd through mundane motions of giving Archie medical attention, wiping away the most alarming bruising and keeping the Fairest from passing out. Despite Loki's accusations, he seemed solely concerned with the other's well being and asked Riley if they could help their friend to the first aid tent.
He didn't offer comment otherwise, not wanting to throw a match on already heightened emotions.

Kai clapped Wayland on the shoulder, her good decision appreciated to prevent needless escalation. The story had played out as it was going to play for tonight. Wrath had been free to move, Archie's hubris checked and Loki's very public violence answered. Linden had performed their role, stopping Afterparty's tumble in face, and thankfully, Loki hadn't felt the need to flex further. The job was done.
Nobody else had managed to get their asses kicked. Good enough. Kai looked to Ivory and cocked her head toward the exit. Her congratulations card and gift would be left for Riley, but the Polychromatic had no intention of sitting through the obvious awkward end to this party. Better to give some space.
Further questions would follow, but for the moment, this engagement was over.

Ivory's expression hadn't changed much over the course of Linden's Wrath towards Loki and Riley's attempts to shame him. Instead, she remained where she was watching as the explosive display fizzled. Golden eyes fell to the bleeding Chatelaine and then to Kai as the Polychromatic's movement caught her attention. In response to Kai's unspoken suggestion that it was time to bail, Ivory gave a nod.
As the Pale Dragon followed her motley mate, her gilded gaze found purchase on the Moth. Ivory had yet to congratulate her, as had been requested by the RSVP. Given the revelations of the evening, Ivory believed it well within the realms of possibilities that Archie could have found a way to manipulate the Wyrd in an attempt to enforce it.
"Congratulations on your recent success," she offered, the words leaving her mouth with the absence of affection and her features lacking strong emotion.
With that, the Pale Dragon was gone, slipping through the crowd with Kai to leave... this behind.

Riley stared, their black eyes almost coal with the anger they felt towards Loki as he left. They, for a moment, glanced at the others. So many stood by and just allowed, maybe even wanted to see this happen.
They glance down briefly towards Archie as Linden made their way in. Leaning down, they hiss to themself.
"Talk? He calls this talk?"
Riley looked over Archies face. Their own contorted into an expression of regret and anger. Loki's words couldn't help but burn like coals in the Wisp's mind. Where had he heard these things? Some Riley hadn't even heard before. But that didn't matter right now.
Riley looked around at the crowd of mundies. It was lucky for Loki they didn't call the cops. But Lucky Jack didn't deserve that kind of shit on his plate.
They kneel down, grabbing a napkin off the table to wipe some of the blood off Archies face.
"We need to get this taken care of"
They glanced up as Ivory approached, standing at first, their mouth opened to greet her. But the look in her eye and the words of hollow congratulation stung. Their friend turned to leave, Riley felt a sting of shame. Their eyes scan the crowd again; all they could see was the judgment.
They didn't want to be here now. Looking ot Mitch they gave him a nod. It was time to go. "I'll grab Linden to get him there"

Mitchell dumped glamour, apologizing for his lack of action and looking genuinely disturbed by it. He wasn't the best at channeling Spring's miracle, but he did his best to make up for his failure to protect those around him. He seemed quite frazzled by the whole experience, not holding much of a conversation if it was attempted, before excusing himself as he dealt with his shaken anchors of the Fairest Curse.

All of that. The sudden, unannounced violence; the robbing of hospitality; tainting a night of celebration; revelations - or merely accusations - about Archie she had no idea about before now. What could she have done? Loki's fury had streaked through their otherwise friendly conversation, and the fallout is something she doesn't quite trust herself to try to contain.
But the fact remains that she had done nothing. Archie, Linden and Riley aren't her friends. But she owed at least Archie more than stunned silence. Linden's defense and Mitch's compassion leave her feeling ashamed. She puts down the rest of her glass of Hennessy on the table, as unobtrusively as possible, then moves to tap Riley gently on the arm.
"I'm... sorry this happened. This wasn't the time or place for that kind of display." Her words drip with a venom she doesn't try to contain. She turns to go, but a nagging voice in the back of her head says that might be too cold. She spins back and levels with the remaining, fully functioning members of Archie's Motley. "I'm coming with you. To help with Archie. I need to find out where your 'home' is, anyhow." A bold declaration... to cover for her moment of weakness. Appearances, after all.
