The Pale Dragon's head lifted lightly, looking back to the Moth as her question was interrupted by the coming of Marina.
"Hmmm? Oh yes, a near death," she admitted, her tone casual despite the severity of such a statement, "Such is life, love! All is well."
At the statement of being a 'pleb' the dragon froze, pride overcoming her basic knowledge of her place in the ladder of spring.
"Ivory," she offered.
Leave it to Archie to provide levity. On his arrival, he pulled a genuine smile from Ivory, which only softened further the arrival of Agrippa. The obstacle circumvented, Ivory followed with the group, her eyes readily falling upon Chugunkin upon their arrival to the VIP area as he greeted them. She would shake his hand as it was offered, her grip delicate and, as he instructed offered them to sit, the Dragon would do so, the gilded gaze shifting inevitably to his company.
Ivory's practiced smile remained on her lips for most of the introductions. Until Lady Sedna spoke directly to her directly, of course. The reminder of her husband's death hit a chord with the Pale Dragon and, coupled with the woman's seemingly genuine delivery, Ivory found herself disarmed. The smile lessened, eyes resting on the woman for a moment. It took the Fairest a moment to recognize it was her time to speak, but, eventually, she cleared her throat, formulating a response as she was hit with lingering feelings of grief.
"Your condolences are appreciated, Lady Sedna," she offered, her tone soft, but grateful. It wasn't often that another Lost abruptly acknowledged the loss she must be feeling, "He rests well."

Riley shot Ivory a glance at her statement of near-death experience, had it been a joke? Or was it brutal honesty? The moth didn't have time to ask before they found themselves in mixed company.
Riley gave a smile and nod to Agrippa and Archie raising their glass in greeting. as they followed behind Marina to meet the "nobles". the bright one seemed to pulse softly with the music and light of the club as they approached Chungunkin and Lady Sedna. Riley provided a bowed head in a sign of respect alongside the handshake.
The greeting from Sedna took them by surprise. The woman seemed to have an impressive knowledge of those present, even the likes of Agrippa new to the freehold. The darkling glanced to Ivory at the mention of her late husband's passing. It was a kind gesture from the Noble, but none the less such a public declaration made the Darkling nervous.
Riley Looked to Lady Sedna and gave a respectful nod of their head.
"It's a pleasure" The moth flashed a playful smile.

Archie wasn’t going to throw flack, this was a more muted Archie of course. More cautious of the general atmosphere than in situations where he leveraged more control. Did he oppose the Knight of Coin? Of course not, so he came in and offered a raised glass in greeting, knowing enough to pretend he knew nothing in this situation. Though he would take the hand of the Knight respectfully and the seat, and use this moment of a request to tap into his durance. Will that be all, Knight of Coins?Following that he turned his attention to the supposed friend of the Spring Knight and laughed with the proper social queues. When he was picked out he smiled and shrugged “Guilty as charged”
A small chuckle, but he paid attention more so to collecting the information of the others. He was familiar but not intimately so with the others. So this was quite the learning experience. Strong King - ArchieToday at 10:59 PM

Having not heard Marina's initial invitation, Agrippa followed the group mostly out of curiosity, and because it seemed that they were expected to do so. They didn't want to get left behind, and if their friends were going it couldn't be all that bad of an idea- at least Agrippa trusted that Riley, Ivory, and Archie wouldn't make any worse decisions than they would... So it came the them quite a shock when they found themselves inside a private room being personally greeted by the Knight of Coin himself. It was all they could do to keep the surprise from bleeding out further than a momentary expression and brief hesitation before they gathered enough of their senses back to actually take the hand that was offered. They had barely the time to process being in the same room with Spring Royalty before their attentions where ripped away by the lady in shadow as she spoke their name.
"Charmed to make your acquaintances!"
The plural was intentional, made quite obvious by the way Agrippa pivoted a quarter-bow so that it could be directed towards all in the room. It was only once seated that the unicorn breached a level of calm where they could feel something gnawing at the back of their skull. There was something about this situation that bothered them, and they couldn't quite put their finger on exactly what that was... They gave the feeling less than a moment's consideration before forcing it back to the depths of their subconscious- they could deal with it later, right now they had impressions to make.

Sedna offered the drinks, prompting those gathered to share something about themselves. The conversation is long, wielded like a true master of escalating small talk and establishing some level of familiar intimacy.
Chugunkin listened impassively, waiting to be impressed that these people were worth his time beyond the passing whimsy of an old friend.

The tag team was clever, almost good cop bad cop - only one of these two was a hard man, and there were certain virtues he would love to hear espoused, which the Fairest would make sure to dot in throughout the casual conversation. Measuring his words - not too much, not too little, and making them count. However there were things to mention that may be be as obvious… Archie was often not left wanting...Money Archie rubbed shoulders with the hottest celebs...Status Archie was a man who understood faith...Loyalty Archie was flexible but firm...Get it done, or else Archie could say things without saying things...Social Fairest, amiright? Archie was respectful...He could have come in ridiculous but he knew better Archie had connections to the old country...Could you turn away family like that? Strong King - ArchieToday at 7:04 PM

Even if the stakes were higher, making friends was making friends, wasn't it? Agrippa tried hard to shed the nervousness that they felt, projecting a solid wall of charisma and confidence in its place. They were easy going, led the conversation readily when it was handed to them, and tried above all else to be the kind of friendly magnetic face that royalty often collected for their court like living décor. They were vague about what they did for the most part, implying a way with words, a knowledge of the court, and a wealth of friendly faces they could reliably call upon...They were however not so cagey about their Kith, elaborating with exciting and intriguing tales of close calls and triumphs from beyond the gauntlet.

Riley was all too happy to speak about themself and their services they wished to provide for the court. With two snaps of their finger, the gauntlet channeled the Wyrd giving the moth elegance to their words and poise. The Darkling weaved a image of flirtatious mystery when they spoke of themself, while being graceful enough to share the lime light, and even setup their companions moments to shine, another display of their talents.
- Riley saw themselves as a social shapeshifter (both figurative and literal). They were able to engage in social groups both high and low with ease. - The bright one had a knack for being able to find their way into any bar, establishment, or party in town. - They were well connected, to the adult industry, a network they continued to foster. One day Riley hopped their talents in that industry could be of use to the Freehold, while also providing a useful network of information and services deeply connected to the feelings of desire.

It took Ivory some moments longer to ease into the conversation alongside her peers, but, in time, she made some account for herself. - Ivory's pride and joy was the security of her identity among the mundane - and her ability to move among them without a great deal of caution related to the need to safeguard any weaknesses in her alias. - Curiously, the Pale Dragon spoke of some minor Goodwill among the Iron Spear related to some activity in Las Vegas an elsewhere. She seemed keen on expanding it through association with Summers here in Las Vegas. - Ivory considered herself a social Lost with an understanding of mundane politics and an interest of those among the Freehold. Off-handedly, she associated her interest in politics of both stripes through her time with her late-husband, who was a Congressman and a figure of some importance among the Lost in Pittsburgh. - The Pale Dragon was, like Archie, quite affluent and was currently focusing on her assets to push her into the ranks of the very rich. She was close and, most of all, protective of these assets. A dragon knows every coin. - Throughout the conversation, Ivory evoked the regal, pleasant nature for which she was known. She could command a room, when the mood took her and signaled that her contracts reinforced that gift. However, perhaps to her detriment, the Pale Dragon also possessed a stubborn streak and, most disconcertingly, a growing comfort for violence. She believed it may be necessary to unlock "a part of her that she had forgotten." Post by Rudolph Chugunkin on Feb 13, 2021 20:25:49 GMT -8
Both Chugunkin and Sedna seemed to enjoy listening to Agrippa's bardic yarns, the drinks flowing naturally as the Beast embodied the carousing of the Court of Desire. Even if he didn't set forth a specific skillset, phasing between realities and generally just being a likeable Face to any social deck shuffle was nicer to have in one's own hand than another's.
The Winter Princess wedged herself between the Unicorn and Riley, the snap of the finger drawing everyone's attention in a dramatic fashion, with a certain thrill like everyone was on the set of a tense movie. The fact that they were a social chameleon, and knew how to prop up their companions to boot differed themselves from Agrippa's raw Beastial charisma: they were an agent for information. It was easy to buy that the Darkling was going places, and overlooking the Bright One would make you look late to the party.
Ivory was queenly as always, delaying her input as a gesture of responsible nature and patience for one of the Arcadian Crown. Her confidence was steady and established, signaling a foundation that could be relied on rather than just green eagerness. She could be a community pillar, she just needed the distractions of the court to stop scurrying around the pearl they already housed. The signal that she was capable of violence triggered a knowing look from the pair; whether it was well received or not was unclear.
Archie was clearly comfortable with the setting as well, nerves evaporating as the familiar beats of Socialization As Business showed his hand without sounding boisterous, boring, or desperate. His chatty nature started to overtake the conversation, watching Chugunkin's grin grow as he made reference to his Russian connections; as smooth as a jazz musician weaving the lie of the Wyrd into the music of his pitch as one of the Bratva.
What he didn't expect was the Pakhan to start belting out his native language, waiting for Archie to respond as he ramped up the jovial familiarity. He was clearly asking questions from his tone, ignoring Hartman's polite signals that he couldn't understand him. It was the friendliest public shaming he had ever seen, and anyone looking would think they were brothers.
"See, if you wanted to be my adjutant of my affairs, you should have just said, little Chatelaine," he laughed, the serrated teeth sharper than ever. "The brass balls on you, eh? Maybe you should have been one of the Domovoi — puppeting the Master's household." There was a moment where an uncomfortable silence spread within the tight quarters of the table.
Sedna took a long sip of her champagne, clearly enjoying this as she afforded Hartman a wink. Chuginkin leaned in, holding out a large hand towards Archie.
"I am sure that you will take the vassalage, rather than make me look like a limp dick cuck by running off to some other knight while I foot the bill for your dinner date, huh?"

Oof, offering the hand already. Strong play, Arch Man had used it himself, see an opportunity where they are a little shaky and turn it into elation that they managed to crest the hill. Smart, it wasn’t like the Emerald Court wasn’t filled with ambition, right? So when the most steady presence in the court says you have chutzpah and offers you a job why would you say no? Because he is trying to close the deal and lock you in before you realize its a lowball. The dead give away was the self deprecation, cheerful and approachable - Archie could see himself laughing as he shook the hand - if he took it - basking in his ‘yeah I sure got one over on you’. But he wasn’t going to lock in without seeing the details, and without knowing just how deep the well went. If it was as deep as Chugunkin’s lasting power?
He put on his big smile.
“Honored, really, but how about some foreplay first? At the very least it makes me feel less desperate, eh?”
A humble chuckle, tossing his own shot at himself.
“Though this may be one heck of a dinner date if it's going to win over vassalage, since normally I consider hospitality part of the package in my own dealings.”
Veiled question, just how big was the ‘dinner date’ if it was worth allegiance, and a nod that ‘hospitality isn’t going to be enough to bribe’. Archie was not wanting financially, so he wanted to hear more from the Knight, it was a dangerous game potentially but he was already in the bears den, so if he wasn’t at least somewhat forward the already cautious courtier may get annoyed with him.

Riley had seemed to be enjoying the chance to show off their colors alongside the others. That was until Archie decided to play mobster and Chugunkin called him on his bluff. However the Knight seemed more than anything to be pleased than angry.
The moth raised an eye brow looking to Archie uncertain if the man knew what he was doing or flying by the seat of his pants. They decided it was best to watch it play out, and tap in if the talent agent needed the help.
Meanwhile The Moth turned their attention to the Winter Princess Lady Sedna. Powerful, beautiful, and a member of the winter court, it drew the moths curiosity. In particular they took a moment through the engagements to try and read her opinions on the social engagement so far, and more importantly if her opinions of the company.

Ivory was enjoying the light discussion, speaking cordially of herself while also having the presence of mind to grant others the space to speak of herself. Even if she wasn't seeking Chugunkin's direct vassalage, it would be beneficial for them to begin their acquaintance on pleasant terms. Then Archie's little ruse came to light. He lied, Chugunkin called him out, they laughed... but the danger of the act had annoyed the Pale Dragon. They had been brought to the Knight of Coin as a group and, even if mobster was well and aware they were indeed independent from each other, the mind was a fickle thing. The chance remained that their interactions with Chugunkin as a whole tonight could influence perceptions of them going forward. To risk of trying to pass a very blatant lie on a seasoned courtier and could have been disastrous to her their aims for the evening if things had gone wrong. Nonetheless, Ivory let the feeling roll off her shoulders, her face remaining the picture of regal tact, her eyes remaining observant as a cordial smile hit her lips. However, with her focus inward, Ivory said little else, simply observing and remaining present to listen should the conversation move forward. Sedna's attention remained moreso with Riley and Agrippa than Ivory or Archie, despite their pitches being more appealing when one was considering logistical contributions to the Freehold.
As far as Status Quo on what the Lost found "impressive", Archie and Ivory having entrenched businesses and solid income brackets as something to be envied, and yet she was clearly more invested in the other two.

Chugunkin's smile softened a bit, "Ah, you did not get the joke," he intoned, referring to 'puppeting the Master's house'. "Forgive me, English is not my first language, but at least I speak it, eh?" he laughed again, referring to Archie's lack of Russian.
"All right, I shall explain, and kill the joke, so it can be a lesson. Tell me, mister Hartman, how often do you imagine in the fourty years I have been Changeling, that I have run into the Chatelaine? Now, I sit here, asking myself, my my does this man here radiate the confidence of a Bratva! And he likes to say, 'why yes, Chugunkin, I am Family,' with a cheeky little wink to his shit eating grin. 'Give me a bit of a boost, Family,' he ventures, as yes, he is very high indeed among our kind. Let the Wyrd replace the fact that I doubt you even know how to hold a gun."
Chugunkin waves off an Ogre guarding the VIP area, slowly turning his head as he overhears the Wizened's change of tone. "'How did he know?' You wonder as you keep smiling, trying to keep the game going. I ask myself another question: no Russian, and here is a Pakhan, or perhaps a Vor, and no word? No greeting of arrival or respect for what I have done. That's when I shake off the illusion, that this little Chatelaine has taken up residence in My House and has taken over my staff without even so much as an interview." He was still smiling, but his voice took on a rumbling, hissing growl as it dropped lower and lower.
"Then I ask myself, how hard is brass if this pig-shit if he says his use of magic over my assets is 'hospitality'?"
He spreads his hands,
"What do I do?"
There were several layers to the social trap of that question.
