Texts were fired off in quick succession.
The first was to Jiang, his Contact with the Triads. Had Yuan been making waves? The story he had concocted was identity theft, seeing as the young man was rising in popularity thanks to his recent vassalage oath. Then came the messages to Mitch. They hadn't spoken in months, but he was what made the most sense.
If Whisperwisps were involved, Yuan didn't trust phone calls.

Somewhere in the dark, the Dancer's eyes fluttered open to his cell buzzing again. He flinched in tired disgust as he pried the device from the pooling liquid behind the door.
The texts were disjointed.
The second call eventually hit the right one.
"Hey. Password?" There was a beat of confusion as Yuan didn't know what the other was talking about. "Okay, good. Don't text. It can go to either phone," he coached, sounding quiet.
It almost seemed that was all Carr was going to say, but apparently the Fairest was just wrestling with his Curse. "He already asked and exited here. Uh..." the audio corrupted, or maybe it was the other weathering the crack to his clarity. Carr provided a general address to one of Eurydice's smaller spare studios within reasonable distance.
"You'll save time cutting through the building instead of running the blocks to try and go around. But I'd get not wanting to," he advised, almost mumbling at this point. "Um...he can do whatever you can do. Might be a rough fight."

The Playmate was still shaken by his conversation with Mitch. Texts weren’t safe, and apparently neither were calls. When he got Jiang on the phone, Yuan simply didn’t manage to string a convincing story. Or maybe it was the alcohol cycling out of his system.
Still, he had an address now, a lead.
Shit. Fuck. He needed to get his head on straight if he’d have any chance to see this through. Still, he proceeded to the studio.

Yuan took the long way so he could dodge the signal jammer to make his call, choosing to skip over cutting through the chaos of the industrial complex the Winter court had used as their ritual ground.
Jiang asked where he was and where he was going.
The studio had its lights off, with steel shutters keeping vandals from smashing the glass in a rougher part of town. It was part of a single story chain of other businesses, with a bakery and coffee shop flanking the left and a bike shop on the right before it broke off into an alleyway. Rats skittered from Yuan's approach, carrying freshly discarded bagels from the dumpster.

He sounded irritated and stressed from the confusing exchange, and was trying to get an idea of where Yuan was to actually accommodate what he was asking for.

The gears had started turning with protest, forcing the Grimm to stop in his tracks. Something about what Mitch had told him over the phone... "What's the password?" he asked in a small an uncertain voice. He scanned his surrounding, paranoid about potential threats in the shadows. His grasp on Reality had been waning for a while now and Yuan was having a hard time making out the details.

Jiang listed off a word that Yuan recognized as the original street he used to live on.
"I'm just a couple of minutes out. You didn't leave?" He sounded a bit exasperated. Maybe his clone was panicking too.

“Yes, I haven’t moved,” he confirmed. “I think I’m seeing movement in one of the alleys.” By the time Jiang would arrive, Yuan would have climbed to the roof. Maybe that way, he would catch Not Him by surprise. Maybe.

"Well that's no good," he sighed about the statement that there might be something in the alleyway. "...You haven't told me the password, Hua," he sighed, signaling that the Playmate was expected to clear himself as well.
Yuan was eying possible routes to the roof as Jiang spoke, but as it was only a single story there was no fire exit. There would be emergency exits that would also receiving shipping, on top of the front door to the businesses. The fact that the buildings were all connected in the same complex denoted that he could gain roof access through any of them as long as he could get inside.

Yuan ventured a guess.
He answered back what came to mind. Time was of the essence now. He left the shade of the alley and headed for one of the complex's other doors, circling around the shutters where he saw movement. Glamour danced at his fingers as he brushed them against the locking mechanism, convincing the building that he belonged.
He took the stairs two at a time as he rushed to the roof, worried that reinforcements would show up any moment. The gun pressed against his belly, tucked behind his belt.

He was of average in intelligence and sharper on the draw than most people he met. With friends offering seemingly random names or locations that would ring true to him, Yuan assumed that he would, in the situation of himself, toss out a nonsense word that wouldn't have any hope in hell of being reproduced. It could be anywhere from "pineapple" to "snowshoe", or a curse word to contradict his innate politeness. Either way it wasn't happening.
Jiang only acknowledged his answer, which could mean the Beast had been blessed by Fate if a Fairest or Henley had done him a solid, or Jiang was rolling with it as not to scare him or invite arguing. Either way, he said he would be there in around seven minutes. As Yuan ran across the rooftop, he opened the skyward entrance of his new territory to pick his way down the stairs, ducking to the top floor that doubled as a storage space. There was a metal bar that served as a railing to separate the overhang, where his eyes flashed as he squinted in the dark to try and see the bottom floor of the studio.
It wasn't a large space, where he assumed the change room and manager's office was directly under him, and that was a the sum and total of it.

The weight of the weapon in his hands gave him clarity of purpose as he went down. The phone was closed and tucked into a one pocket or another as the Beast focused on the grim task at hand. He didn't have time to stop and think why things were going so smoothly so far - he hadn't the presence of mind.
Soft footfall brought him to ground level as Yuan scanned his new surrounding for any clues of the whereabouts of his double. Remembering the events of the warehouse all too well, he ducked under the closest cover he could find in case NotYuan opened fire.

A light crunch alerted him to the broken glass of one of the studio mirrors, now clearer in the darkness with his descent. There weren't really places to hide other than moving behind the stairs to see if the other was lurking in the office or spacious bathroom. His musings were immediately answered by the human reflection of himself swinging silently with a wicked shard.
His addled state sensed the movement on instinct, triangulating the reflected shadows to dance back from a slice.
