"-You're not Dong-mei.
-My sincerest apologies, sir. Dong-mei is indisposed.
-Hmpf. Then send another girl. I don't want another man touching me. I'm not a rabbit."
At any other time, Yuan would have winced from the slur. However, he was on the clock and his smile held, unwavering. He silently cursed Dong-mei for calling him to say she was going to be late. Apparently, her neighbour wasn't home and couldn't watch her kid, so she had missed her commute.
"-No other girl is available at this moment. I was told that you were a busy man and that you shouldn't wait.
-I don't care. Get me another girl! And tell Jiang to cancel my next appointment.
-Of course, sir."
The customer was an older gentleman that visited the parlour regularly. He had never been particularly difficult, so long as things happened exactly the way he wanted them to. He was also part of the triads, like most high rollers Yuan dealt with and apparently was important enough to have a personal assistant. Bowing before closing the doors to the massage room, the Courser set out to find this Jiang. The quest wasn't very long, seeing as there was only one person in the reception area.
"-Mr. Jiang, I presume?" He bowed slightly.
"-Yes?
-I am Hua Yuan, the receptionist here. Your employer asked me to instruct you to cancel his next appointment.
-Th-thank you." Jiang tried to remain impassive, but the perceptive Beast could tell he was bothered. Bowing again, he walked of to leave the assistant enough space to to his job. The man fished out a cell phone and thumbed something on his screen.

Thumbing through the ledger, Yuan couldn't help but look up at Jiang. He was an attractive man, a few yeas older than the Emerald, judging by the soft crow's feet at the corner of his eyes. Either that or being a personal assistant was remarkably stressful. A few times, the man almost caught him staring, but his Arcadian nature helped him look away just in time. Eventually, the call was ended and Jiang made his way to the reception desk.
"-Thank you, Hua Yuan.
-Nothing too important, I hope? I'm sorry, I'm asking you questions when I don't even know your full name.
-Oh. It's Kan Jiang."

Yuan giggled his crystalline laugh. "Reed and steady river. It's certainly thematic.
-And you're named after the god of medicine, correct?
-I'm impressed, Kan Jiang."
Was that blushing Yuan spied?
"-Anyway. No nothing serious. He does this regularly, so it's just business as usual." Jiang scratched the back of his neck, causing his shirt to reveal his wrist.
"-I like that club. I go there too," said Yuan, smirking at the sight of a Club Piranha stamp. "If your experience is anything like mine, we should just go together next time."
Jiang's eyes widened and he quickly covered the stamp, shooting a look at the massage room where him employer was.
"-Your secret is safe with me." He had, after all, just outed himself to a stranger.
"-I'm not- I mean-
-It's fiiiine. Don't worry about it." Ripping out a post-it, Yuan wrote down the digits to his phone. "If you feel like it, call me next time you go out. I finish around nine, usually."
