With Gavin being the more adroit occultist, the task of crafting a satisfactory Oath to join them had fallen to him.
The pair had learned enough of each other at some few prior encounters to know they could do well together with each filling useful roles that supported and expanded on the other's capabilities and talents.
They had sat for a while discussing the concerns they each had in enjoining as they were planning. This was a preparation that was necessary to align the wording so that it could properly contain the intentions of the would be Motley in the Oath. With the weakening of the Wards, it was settled on to be a trial run during a dangerous time.
Gavin took on a solemn tone, in respect to the weight of what was to follow, "I swear that for the coming Winter to those mutually and acceptably sworn to this Oath that I will enjoin them in mutual defense when an outside party threatens the fellowship. I will neither betray my fellows to the True Fae nor the agents they may send in their stead. In this spirit of mutual protection, I call upon the Wyrd to allow myself the option to take up the burden or hardship suffered by my fellows. Should I fail to keep true, not only will I hold no standing among the fellowship, I will continue to feel the aches and pains suffered by them due to my failures until I make things right."
The words were also written out and provided for Henley to read from or sign.

Motley Pledge - Societal Oath
Open Oath - Others may join if all current members agree and the new member swears the Oath
Terms - Until the end of this Winter Season. Must come together in mutual defense when an outside force threatens the Motley. Must not betray one another to the Good Cousins or their agents.
Benefit - Once per Chapter. One member can suffer a Negative Condition or Tilt meant for another. The choice must be made at the time it would be applied, not after.
Penalty - Immediate Revocation of all benefits. Additionally, Breakers of this Oath will feel the pain of the other Motley members. (Wound penalties of any and all current members stack and apply to the Oath-breaker, up to a maximum of -3 until restitution is made with the Motley and the Wyrd. E.g. 3 members each are at the -1 wound penalty level. A former member then suffers the full -3 for as long as the others do.)
