"Humans don't know any better," the Magpie laughed around his drink, "And no one needs to like you to owe you favours." If he had taken note of Rick's erratic body language, he didn't signal it.
As the Darkling spoke to the human-skinned hob, his nature emerged as his eyes darkened with excitement, light catching on the Tapetum Lucidum. It made no effort to hide its motives, regarding Rick in a predatory manner as he switched seating to move closer. The energy was giddy, like he wanted to swat at a racing vole—just to see what would happen.
"A situation where I would require it, has yet to occur," he offered, "Things have been interesting without the twist. You will appreciate the victories more, I am sure, if it is about to be snatched from your hands." There was no malice in it's words; the Broker truly thought maximizing Rick's danger was for the best, as if he were a character escalating dramatic tension and higher stakes. Of course the Bright One would want to be more interesting.
Gedeihen just wanted to watch.

"Well, best not rub them too hard. You might get an infection," the Nymph quipped back. He wasn't really one for being vulnerable with strangers, either. The mention of Afterparty got a forced smile from the Spring Courtier, neither inclined to derail an otherwise pleasant conversation with a verbal thrust, nor involve himself with a group that was in bad standing. He did follow the eyeline and didn't see anything.
"Tell you what, next gathering, if you wouldn't mind making the introduction to Wayland, I'd call it even."
Glancing about the den of iniquity, Henley stuffed his hands in his pockets.
"I'm in finance. It made sense to study the finance of the fae -- for there is finance to it, and rules of business that our kind would benefit from being quite skilled at. Of course, few people bother, which is a mistake. Beneath the whimsy is rot, where a wrong footfall could cost you your freedom as fast as any enemy could. Faster, even. You showed the right caution."

Rick raised an eyebrow taking in the cat's reasoning about not calling in debt yet. In his opinion, he didn't need any more difficulty with his victories, but it seemed the Hob desired even more drama.
"I see," Rick said, a half-hearted smirk on his lips.
" I appreciate the offer. Gedeihen. But I think this is somethang I need to negotiate for myself. Your free to watch, wont stop ya"
His attention moved back to Magpie. "Thanks, and if your ever in the market for more information. Let me know"

Blaze thanks Talos for his time - he's given her quite a food for thought and she feels like a character in a "choose your own adventure" book: if you want to become a spy, flip to page X. If you'd rather your character pursued a career of wholesome healing, see paragraph on page Y. And the truth is, she doesn't know which path to take, distracting herself with trying to remember some snippets of background info on Solomon, Mordecai and Cailleagh instead of deciding. She's still around, orbiting near Victor and the metallic Elemental, but no longer an integral part of the conversation. Looks like those two might have some common topics to discuss.

She's still around, orbiting near Victor and the metallic Elemental, but no longer an integral part of the conversation. Looks like those two might have some common topics to discuss. As Blaze reflects, she knows that Cailleagh is an Archer of the Lonely March — Onyx warriors that scout hostile environments and secure safe havens for those in needs. Her work with the Bishopric of Blackbirds seems unsurprising with context, given the Spring Entitlement's mission to improve community. Solomon was the Knight of Scales sworn to Queen Uriel of the Iron Spear, who had a reputation for being quite intimidating, but lately had surged in popularity among the Spring courtiers for his steady application of order and expectations (his new Squire may have had a hand in improving optics, as 'dour' didn't even broach the bad vibes the Fairest gave off). Mordecai held no official capacity within Winter, as far as Blaze understood, but he was the guy for navigating the Skein. The Ogre came off as a little dangerous in his lackadaisical attitude towards politics.

Talos nodded, lighting flashes behind his eyes signaling he was engaged despite not offering any comment. With Victor's question, he typed out that they could really use the help, honestly. Trained forensic cleanup was a rare skill, and even rarer for those who could tolerate it long enough for anything worth a tenure. To Blaze, he mentioned Solomon or Mordecai were good to get into contact with if she was looking for espionage. However, if she was vouching as a properly trained therapist, the Freehold had a dearth of mental health advocates, and providing therapy in the Dream was often essential to detangling deep seated damage that would normally take years and medication to even approach functionality. The Bishops of Blackbirds were a good touchpoint, which Cailleagh was friendly with. The Elemental himself was obviously a tech person, though he tossed in that liked mountain biking and painting murals. It was up to the Onyx swordsman and ID cracker to humanize himself, after all. Victor lit up, reaching in and fishing a worn leather wallet from the inside panel of his jacket "You really do know how to tell a guy exactly what he wants to hear, don't you? Here, you can pass around this number if you get the chance. Or call me if something comes up. I try to keep my prices cheap and I'm willing to negotiate alternative arrangements- we don't want messes to be left uncleaned, after all."He broke eye contact to leaf through his cards, pulling a manilla one out from a small stack of duplicates and offering it to Talos. a Number, an email, and the title "Janitorial Services" was scrawled onto it in blue ink. "As for the first thing, unfortunately my funds are running a little low right now. I'll have to get back to you as soon as I can afford it. As said, I already got something, so what I really need is the expensive option. 'Least now I know who to go to, and how much dough I need to pony up for it!"His tone was overtly optimistic, in part because he legitimately wasn't too worried over the whole affair, though it was also an effort to let Talos down gently- he wasn't sure whether Yuan had made him a sale, and he didn't want to be the second disappointment in a row if that was the case.
