Bullets and Burgers was an outdoor shooting range and possibly the most cheekily-named business venue since the Curl Up & Dye hair salon. Chosen not so much for the staggering variety of death instruments as it was for the privacy - the place was relatively remote, with expansive area dotted with targets of varying difficulty. True to their name, the owners even provided an appropriately protein-filled lunch. Blaze sent Olivia a quick text with a place and date, just like they planned.
The dry heat of the last days of Summer was hitting like a leaden sledgehammer.
The Elemental was dressed casually, in a shirt and a pair of worn trousers. She knew some liked to cosplay for these things in camo or tactical gear, but she got more than enough of it in the time before her Durance, thank you very much.

The sound of a motorcycle engine approached, distant in the open space, and puttered to a halt. A couple of minutes later Nott appeared around a corner, helmet held at her hip and headed for the front of the range. Her eyes were hidden behind a pair of sunglasses that all but glowed, the trails of gaseous flames pressed up toward her eyebrows and down against her cheeks. When she spotted Sofia she punched the air above her head, clearly excited.
Hastening into a sort of shuffling jog, the Wizened flipped the glasses onto the top of her head and grinned. "I cannot wait. You wanna eat before or after?"

Between the desert, the motorcycle and the 'glowing' sunglasses, the scene was one leather jacket short of a Mad Max frame. Blaze tried to be more reserved in her reaction than the other Winter was - and it almost worked, but her enthusiasm proved infectuous, causing a smile to appear as Blaze moved in for a brief, solid handshake.
"Let's go with after. These things have a heavy calorie count, I don't want us weighted down... Olivia. Good thing we have some more privacy here. Our people call me Blaze, for self-evident reasons" Elementals were rarely subtle, and their miens followed that rule. Although her relatively weak connection to the Wyrd prevented her from looking truly outlandish, the skin hue and flaming hair were hard to miss. As was the Texan wedding worth of firearms behind her "So. Guns. Not a lot of experience with them, I assume?"

"Great- won't have to worry about greasy hands."
Nott wasn't phased by the extra syllable added to her mundane name; it was a decent guess if Sofia thought she'd introduced herself with a nickname. Besides, it had a nice sound to it and she honestly couldn't be bothered. Mundane names were fluid- it was the other name she cared about. "I'm Nott- don't worry about the spelling. Good to really meet you."
"I know enough not to hurt myself, though now that I've said that I'm concerned. I'm betting you know a lot more than that." Blaze's reaction to her mostly-innocent question at the networking event wasn't far from her mind, though she imagined the Elemental didn't need a gun to be lethal.

"Blaze. Likewise."
Nott was a curious name. Blaze vaguely recalled a Norse figure called that, but was fuzzy on the details. Perhaps some further research could lead to interesting insights on how the other woman operates, but for now the Elemental listens, attentive and friendly, and nods to the presumption of knowledge.
"I hope so. Did multiple tours of duty in the marines, which is how I know that in an ideal world I wouldn't even touch a gun anymore if I could help it." And yet here they are. The dark irony of it all isn't lost on the Sprite, and to focus away from it she starts to inspect one of the provided rifles, doing it almost automatically, like an expert pianist barely having to look at his work, letting the hands go by themselves "But it's not an ideal world, is it? And we can't help but do what we need to do instead of what we'd like."
Last part of inspection: looking through the scope at the targets in the distance. Evidently satisfied, Blaze puts the gun away for a moment and looks back at the other Winter.
"It's not the guns themselves that are the source of concern. It's the people who hold them. A gun is just a tool, if a powerful one, and the problem begins with lack of respect for the power you wield."
