The Bright one glanced sideways to the chaperone summoned from the hedge by the door. It was an intimidating beast, and Riley was confident it would prevent anyone from doing something stupid, themself included.
Drawing their eyes from the approaching hound, looked to Dani and Lucas.
"Partially," They admit. " Dani told me they were hanging out before Litha. I hadn't realized their friendship was to this "
They gesture slightly to the rite. There is a look in the Wisp's eye for a moment; was it sorrow? Regret? Envy?
They look at Archie with a soft smile.
"I believe Dani and I are due for a chat."
Riley couldn't help but smirk as Archies frustration was made ever more explicit about the summer event.
"Colosseums are some of the oldest stages; you expect me not to dance? You know I am not fond of all this."
They say in regards to the direction the season of wrath had dragged the freehold too.
"But Linden would have been down there, and some of the best people I have known belong to the season. Besides...the people want a show, they need someone to boo at."
They flash a smirk to Archie. You cant have good theater without a Villian. Besides, Odile was always the more challenging role.

“Between the two of them one can’t let go, and one can’t pick up the phone. Both are just leeching off of you. What makes you think this wasn’t part of everything all along? Danica clearly doesn’t respect your boundaries, so you’ll probably end up kicked to the curb like Rowan was. I’d kick first.”
Between disrespect, and flippant consent, what was worth salvaging? Who knows, once the emotional vulnerability was gone maybe her date would get bored and burn that bridge too before moving on.
“I built it and even if it hurts seeing it go the way of the Globe’s last show would be bitter but sweet.”
He released a long sigh at Riley’s explanation of being down there. They were wrong.
“What. Is. This. Going. To. Accomplish.”
He repeated himself.
“I’m not keen on the idea of throwing yourself into harm's way for a crowd that will just relish in your pain because they can hoop and holler. I was sick of it at Litha, I’m sick of it now.”

Riley gave Archie a look that he was treading into dangerous territory. Then, in a dull tone, they respond.
"Your opinion and thoughts have been noted. I will take it into advisement."
Riley sighs, glancing down to the colosseum floor, watching as the handfastings took place and the other members of the Freehold signed up for the games.
"I can't sit on the outside Arch" The punishment of isolation weighed heavily on the Moth. Isolation from their troupe, their family, now the Freehold?
" You need a reason why? Fine. It's not just for their entertainment but for me. I am done getting my face dragged through the mud. It might not win hearts, but maybe I can win some respect for myself."
Their eyes were fixed down at the Elemental and Fairest below. The two mean something to Riley, and it hurt. They turn back, looking to Archie.
"That good enough for you?"

“While you are taking notes, can I add that that whole ordeal looked rather intimate, and I think she really was into the opinion of that hug.”
The Dancer could give him all the looks in the world but at this point how many people were going to deal with the oathbreaker as is. His skin already crawled and keeping a measured voice was hard enough. Opinions and thoughts were just another trust to be tossed away, so why would he deliver them with care.
“Never.”
A simple reply to their question.
“We went over this before, it is never enough. That was why we came together. Because settling was a failure.”
“Whatever you do, just don’t make it worse.”
With the given circumstance it was one of the kinder things he could say.

The moth chewed on the side of their cheek as Archie mentioned the intimacy of the hug. His prodigy was only causing the Moths hackles to rise, and become more agitated by the situation below.
It wasn't jealousy that ate at Riley as their motley mate pressed the point. Riley was perfectly fine with the idea of Dani hugging, kissing, hell even dating or fucking other people (not that Riley could see that happening). But it required communication.
It was envy that pulled at their gut, envy Lucas was down there for that rite and not Riley. It was embarrassment and shame that tightened their throat, that Dani didn't think, or perhaps worse knowingly knew, how it would look in the eyes of freehold.
Dont make it worse.
It was a fair warning and it gave Riley pause. They opened their mouth to say something, but then shut it again. The wisp tried to bring their smile back, and bring a softness to their inky black eyes. But there was still an unmistakable fire behind them.
“Thanks” was their final response to the warning given. “We’ll see, I guess”
