@archie 's business operated out of the top floor in Spring Valley, with modern renovations struggling to find the balance between trendy and sterile. Reception had diffused lighting to try and mitigate the florescent white, and was experimenting with one of those garden walls to make the air less recycled. The smaller offices had glass paneling to maximize space, colour, and brightness, with the windows slightly tinted to fend off the dessert sun. The hall remained mostly unexplored, due to the insidious nature of having one's computer on full display of a passing supervisor, and this wasn't really that kind of work environment. Verdant over Leaden. Archie had foot the bill for monitor tint as well. His own office clung a bit to an older presentation, with books and files instead of negative space and geometric shelves. Nevertheless, it was spacious, with his own personality splashed onto the blank canvas that the new consultants insisted on. At least the leather chair was white, right? A balance between nostalgic comfort for the older contracts, but not allowing the whole thing to get dated. Peterson's chat handle pops up in the corner of the computer. No more desk phone, but audio calls were an option. Your 2:00 is here.

Archie was simply not impressed, what he was reading was an absolute low ball. However, there were ways to deal with this situation. Yes, he was working on getting one of his clients booked, somewhere where they may be able to make some waves. Thankfully ol’ Archie was working with a full Swiss Army Knife of options. Strike out what he didn’t like, use his stylus to write a vibrant WHAT!? On the screen with a counter offer, and add some addendums about bundling talent - get the venue someone they wanted more so on the short term - and at a price that made everyone work, and use that as a way to worm one if not two people onto the stage. Of course he tempted fate, added a few points on the offer he could easily drop to get where he wanted to be. Really it was the egg that would become a beneficial deal for everyone involved, and ol’ Achie would be responsible for hundreds of peoples enjoyment, and all without a thank you. What a world.
But what was this? Did he have a 2pm? Had he missed lunch by this much?

A well dressed, gangly younger man with dark complexion poked his head in. Eyes dart around the room and he seemed momentarily amused at the novelty of Archie's set-up, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hartman," he said with a large grin, before he offers his hand.
"I'm here about representing my client, you see?" Hands go in his pockets as he nods back towards the front office, "How familiar are you with influencers and marketing? We've actually seen a few of your own clients doing well with their social media following and are hoping to boost their exposure to represent advertiser interests and shit." He laughed, waving a hand as he caught his overly casual tone.
"Obviously, we'd go through you, right?"

Archie stood to greet the eager figure, and with practiced ease a handshake was conducted and he let the glamour let loose, hoping to sneak a peek into the man’s desires and get a better image of just who he was dealing with. “Oh boy, howdy, let me tell you - Team 10 and Jake Paul? What they did was special and I am the only person in this town that has a beat on the pulse. It ain’t just about singing or fucking anymore.”
He let out an almost obnoxious but somewhat endearing laugh. “But smart goy, you are in the right office otherwise we would have to have this chat while lawyered up, right?”
Archie wasn’t going to give any impression that his clients were approachable in sense regarding business. Otherwise it would negate the purpose of paying him. He couldn’t have that now, how else would he pay for the Country Club? Seated again, he leaned back and tented his fingers as he looked on intently, smile beneath his caterpillar lip. “So what are we talking about? Chairs, Supplements, maybe something to do with Beets? Beets are super in I have heard.”

The man wanted money, but not just small amounts. Snapshots of tropical getaways, gorgeous women on the boat, the smell of the ocean and the cold feeling of metallic weight against the fingers.
The man laughs at the mention of a lawyer, shrugging before taking a seat and getting comfortable. "Ah mean, like, anything really. We send your people off, they get sponsored to use a few different phones to film their vacation, they show themselves drinking a specific brand, wearing a specific bikini and makeup, driving a specific car. You know, show off the high life as interacting advertising. If they have some kind of channel, that helps, they can vlog about it and shi-" he stops himself from swearing again, clearing his throat.
"They gotta say they sponsored now, but you roll it slow and then they can hustle their own brand. Then it ain't obnoxious, it's seen as business. New generation respects that. I know a few of them could do Coachella. As long as they got no scandal, should squeeze out a few grand before they ain't relevant anymore. Then they just move on," he smiled.
"Hopefully networked some during travels."

Archie leaned back in his chair as he let the man explain things in bread and butter logic, he had that much going for him at least. Had probably been on the Youtube, or really admired the wrong guy from that Fyre Fest documentary. Either way it seemed like the man here wanted some names to dress up.
“Nice, cool,”
He placed his thumb and forefingers together, then pulled them apart is if tugging an invisible thread to accentuate his statement.
“Leeeeeeegit.”
He clapped his hands together, pressing palms together and pointing them forward.
“Now, do you have something a little more tangible? Like event or venues off the cuff, or you know an actual product. I am not about to just jump on this before I send some fucking Zoomers to a Trump rally, or endorse some Neo-Nazi appearal.”
He pulled his hands apart and held them up like he was getting pulled over.
“No accusations, but you gotta know there are some people out here who will drag you through the schmutz. So do you have Coachella slots? And please tell me about what kinds of beets you have.”
He motioned forward with one hand, inviting the man to share some details again.

His eyebrows go up at the Neo-Nazi comment, "Aight man, I get it." He takes out an iPad and opens up a spreadsheet, listing online realtors, and lets Archie scroll it or airdrop the file to his own tech, if the man had anything Apple. "I can email it, too?" He offered tentatively.
Most of it was apparel, beverage brands, weight loss supplements, make-up and other beauty products, kitchen wares... "Yeah, we got two," he laughed, grinning at the question like the man was screwing with him, "Electronics on there too. Beats are usually with artists and film, man."
Once Archie was done with the file, he opened up a schedule, "We mapped some festivals out in Haiti, Taiwan, and Mexico. Honestly they can just get creative, we're getting some contracts with cruise companies. Travel blogs are a thing." The names of the events looked legit with a quick search online.
"Depends on your client's brand, yeah? If you wanna set up an appointment, they'd probably be good to add their own ideas. You want it authentic."

He exchanged the information needed to get the sheets the man had on his own computer, quickly opening it up to view what the man in front of him had to offer. At first glance it looked pretty legitimate, plenty of places to send people but there wasn’t much else to go one. To Archie it seemed like they may be cut from the same cloth of what they were trying to accomplish but at least ol’ Archie knew what he had.
“So, I mean this is real good stuff. What was the name of your firm again? And do you have any past campaign wins I can see? Because if this is right you got places to go like you say - some odd ducks, but I like odd ducks not much of my talent gets to travel anyway.”
He pivoted back and forth in his chair, swinging his legs back and fourth as he picked up his pen and twirled it in between his fingers generally fidgeting as he gave the man in front of him a chance to respond.
“You aren’t like a faceless shell firm, right? Like pretend to be new and hip but are just one of the big guys playing small for tax purposes?”

"Yeah, Cryptid Acquisitions," he said smoothly. If Archie looked it up, there was indeed a media management website, but most of the information was surface. At least there were some contact numbers. These guys felt small, or startup, but the coding was slick and professional. Their hired representatives weren't listed, likely for privacy reasons or the ability to drop a sullied reputation before the company got dragged into making statements. The Internet was brutal sometimes.
"Naw, we ain't huge," he laughed. "Too much of a good thing means more bullshit to manage. We're trying not to grow too fast without the right people to keep things working good." The young man leaned back in his seat, looking around the office, patient in delivery, but already starting to fade to his next task once he was done with the old man.
He didn't close it just yet, seeing if Archie had any other probing manners before moving to the next cold call. It was a little too lackadaisical, but honestly this was the New Normal with client attitudes, and mercenaries no longer universally considered rude. His phone was silenced at least, but his watch buzzed.

Well, this was shady. Archie smiled and leaned forward with a close lipped smile, hands folded together on the table. Mr. Hartman was the boss now as he adorned the Mask of Superiority. “We are doing a damn good job, small now, but we are going to be huge right? So tell me, where are we progress wise? What’s our best product?”
He was dressed to fit the role, it was his role they were trying to spoof anyway!

The man blinked, reality stuttering as his mind tried to adapt to the madness of Arcadia. He sat a little straighter, but not by much, "Uh- the pink stuff. Though it's not great for production, we only got the one lady, right?"
His eye twitches, looking a little glazed as he settles into the illusion that Archie is, indeed, his superior.
"People trying to copy it, but it's just EDM. Not the same. But, someone's a fucking rat. Dunno who smart enough for that kinda cooking. I think it's that white bitch that Spears totally didn't torch when she wouldn't suck his cock. Heard her daddy's a snitch." He rolled his eyes, sucking his teeth. "Tch. Dunno, man, we used to-" he halted, processing Archie was indeed white as well.
"Word on the street that at least three other gangs are using the same recipe. We got the guns, though. Lucky says he'd be good to move on the Mexicans."

Holy Guacamole.
This was some heavy shit, and here Archie was thinking they were just chasing clout. This was the type of cocaine cowboyery that got people in jail for a few dozen years for even sniffing around it. And here was ol’ Archie, already shin deep in this muck and possibly implicated for taking a meeting. No one ever trusted agents and always assumed the worst.
He pushed a pad and paper towards the man across from him.
“Your number, Spears and Lucky too. Where was our girl set up? We have an address. We are going to want to hunker down and prepare for the worst. Can’t afford to not have a presence.”
With some idea of what was going on he would be able to react accordingly versus letting things just happen to him. He hated that feeling. It is why he hated roller coasters. Archie took the time to lean back and tent his fingers as he waited to see what the man could give him.
“I like your moxie you know? You know what you want, and you want a lot of it. Humour, what do you think our end game looks like? Lets see that foresight of yours in action.”
He took the opportunity to wink and give the man a quick finger gun before returning to his fingers to their tented position. This gave him a chance to ease any tension or reservation caused by his newly acquired station. He was always a people’s boss. His secretary could attest just how ‘cool’ he was.

He looked a little reluctant to admit he had Spears' number, before updating his boss' old school repertoire of criminal contacts. "Uhh...north off Industrial, Wakeman's Storage Facility. I dunno which one, man. I just pick it up." He looked hopeful——Archie hadn't come off as volatile, or the crazy brand of street director.
He blinked at the finger guns, mouth open before he flashed teeth in a chuckle, "Money. Get out of my parent's house. Maybe get my sister out too." He was being weirdly candid, but he didn't see the point in flexing at this dude. It wasn't like he would get the other end of things, sitting in this fancy office with a wonderbread aesthetic.

Numbers obtained, got an address to hand off to the proper authorities when it all comes down to it. But hey, since he was already prying, why not try and dig just a tad deeper, eh? He already had his hooks in so may as well press his advantage. “Always a good goal, my parents were coddlers so getting out was a huge sigh of relief. But you and your sister? Must be a nice place, where abouts are you in town?”
Genuine curiosity of course, if he got his answer he would just need his guest to know that he knew that information. Strong KingToday at 5:13 PM

Apparently his name was 'Marquel.' He blinked at the question, a tired, practiced grin splitting his face, "Yeah dawg, got a sweet spot in Henderson." Unless he came from the richest neighbourhood in the city, he was being sarcastic, but his tone was so pleasantly deadpan that drawing attention to it would likely make it awkward.
"We good? Did you want me to put out a message to arm up, if you think there's going to be a problem?"
