Opening a dream was a lot of work.
Pistols for the range, bows, tack and consumables for the horses, office supplies, computers and desks, materials for the obstacles and basic tools for the set-up and maintenance of the place were all necessities that could be purchased. Much of it could be acquired at auction on the cheap - even the horses, though they needed additional training. Day labor was something Kai knew well, and she knew the organizations to order that from. Leases left and right.
Nothing about any of that was so daunting as dealing with the government licenses, insurance and bureaucratic red tape. That was the piece that required a lawyer, money to move the pieces and smooth the way. The fact that Ivory could swing around her nascent reputation as a charitable actor was certainly helpful, and she had plenty of cash to grease wheels.
The math had been done. What they needed had been sourced. But before they could pull any triggers, they needed the bureaucracy done... and Kai Rose was terrible at it. She could source things. She could make deals. But when it came down to getting lawyers involved, she was out of her depth.
"Hey, Ivory?"
The necessary applications had been sent in. So said the lawyer, and now it was just a matter of waiting to find out if they could pull it all off with the City.
"Wouldn't it be fun if Solomon was willing to train our horses for us?"
He was such a salty bitch sometimes that she couldn't help but wonder if the Fairest would be happier around animals.

Kai fails to offer any meaningful assistance in the Academics piece of the business. Most of what we need is Resources 2 (which Ivory can get without difficulty). The big ticket item is the lawyer. A great Resources 4 lawyer provides +4 bonuses to all rolls.
Ivory should roll an extended Intelligence + Academics + 4 to do an amazing job!
