The thing about shooters is that if you let them free-fire, they'll keep you pinned down as long as there was ammunition. Maybe until their friends arrived. Maybe until the cops showed. Maybe until someone did something heinously stupid.
Alecto wasn't letting any of that happen. To what would have been a mortal eye was sheer, dumb luck, the Beast dove forward through the shattered window at a well-timed moment. The suppression fire continued to spray over her, and she slid at a key moment, getting under the arc of fire and up against the car that the shooter was engaging.
Ian couldn't really see what was going on without taking gunfire, but he could get enough of a glimpse that Alecto had actually made it to the car and was still mobile and active before his head was driven down by molten lead.

Welp.
She never can let someone go alone and she wasn't about to start. Besides, what are the chances they showed up here? And where is her Summer nature hiding? The Fire gets up and sprints to catch up to Alecto at the car. Firearms are some bull compared to arrows, but she just hopes the tactics she learned from Kai pay off. ...if they stuck. There is a fire coursing through her veins, too slow for her liking, but going.

Two-handed weapon.
Back-up pinned.
Stop the auto-fire.
The afterimage of her Mantle streams behind her, leaping at the woman with a shriek.

The spray that had gone over Alecto's head as she slid against the car swept up and peppered the not-yet-supernaturally-protected Firebringer. Three rounds struck her, one above her left hip, one center mass just below her heart and one in the right shoulder. If she had not been running, she would have been tossed to the ground, but the Ifrit made it to the car door next to Alecto. Shock would set in eventually, but not yet -- there was a shooter to be stopped.
As the teenager that Alecto was mimicking came screaming around the corner, 'Detective' Chin tried to spun the assault rifle onto her -- but the Beast was on her, fighting her for the gun. She simply let it go, moving with ease in the grapple, trying to leverage Alecto into a disadvantage...

The bullets had stopped spraying and the silence was deafening. Rowan risked a peek around and saw Alecto wrestling with someone. Dani looked wonky from this distance. Either way, he had to move up.

The hail of lead halted and Ian peered his head out from the doorway to see three of his acquaintances had already closed the gap. His hands were shaking and he had no desire to start firing into the melee or at all if he had the choice. He settled for recon and flanking instead.
Ian picks his way through the remains of the front end and stealthily starts making his way to the shooter's vehicle. He kept his eyes peeled for other threats as he skulked through the shadows. No repeats of the diner situation.

Finn takes his opportunity once the gunfire stops. While Alecto is in a grapple, making it a hard shot, the Sergeant is still a professional police officer. He focuses, firing a well-trained round that strikes Chin center mass despite the Beast being in close proximity. He advances as he does, moving out and to the right to cut off one avenue of escape if she tries to make a break for it.
It's a legitimate shot, by the book, with a heavily armed and dangerous opponent who a group of civilians are trying to rush to stop. Unless she makes a break for it away from him, she'll be in melee range when he moves next time.
Ian sneaks up to the car next to the others. He sees no other immediate threats, but notes that there is a closed convenience store's security camera that likely covers this, as well as the Desert Wind's camera.

In a flicker of glittering after-image, Alecto flows from the agent's grip. Planting her weight on the gun, she swiped.

Fire swallows, leaning up hard against the vehicle as she realizes the gravity of her wounds. She feels dizzy, lightheaded, not enough to pass out, but enough to be jarring. Taking a breather, stepping back, letting the others handle it at this point would be the smart thing to do, the safe thing to do, the sensible thing to do.
Dani, however, is none of those things.
Nope. Danica Allred is a Fire, which means that once she catches, her flames are spreading everywhere and there's nothing you can do to stop her without intense smothering. So...
She stands, swiftly moving behind the vehicle to confront Chin with the others, going in for a punch as best she can manage in her bloodied state. That last hint of glamour also seems to finally glimmer through her, the agility finally catching up to her. Fuck. Where were you 6 seconds ago?

Live a minute in her shoes.
An expert in martial arts, the assassin known as Xiaofeng Chin had been paid a great deal of money for this job. A woman, a description, confirmed instructions, additional instructions, further instructions... it didn't take much to tell that something fucking weird was going on. This was the third description she'd had for the woman she was chasing, figuring her out by process of elimination.
It was enough money to warrant the kind of reckless, shock-and-awe approach she was engaged in.
An expert hold, whirling the target's arms around to a spot where a quick-draw and a bullet to the kidney would be easy. Then suddenly, she was gone, a blur of motion as she escaped somehow and struck her with a knife. Chin had dodged the worst of it with a timely step back. Thank God for the Kevlar, both due to the bullet fired by the big redhead who had pushed out of the building and now the knife strike. And then the intimidating little one, wounds torn across her torso, came around the car where more help was coming. A punch thrown, a punch blocked, and she pressed the gun to Danica's chest.
No.
BANG.
As Firebringer fell to the ground, slumped over and bleeding out, Chin stood right on top of her, gun aimed down as she maintained control of the position over the fallen woman. With the number of people she was facing, position was everything.

Rowan moved fast, but not fast enough. He had jumped out of the ruined bar and ran across the street just in time to see their assailant shoot Dani straight in the chest.
He saw red, the same colour that was now flowing against the concrete. He was a Darkling, the predator in the dark that moved silently like the night. Ice formed at the end of his fingers, wicked talons of cold that were aimed to kill. No more hiding, no more quarters.

A whirlwind of violence ensued, Chin's life-threatening round setting loose the dogs of war. Rowan's claws pierced through her armor into her stomach, knocking the wind out. Finn charged forward, flipping his grip on his firearm because of the press of bodies around her. He snapped his pistol out expertly and with all his might, smashing her again. Still, the assassin stood, her movements and parries tired but still effective. The Triad soldier was still in the fight, a grave danger to anyone around her.
And so it was that Ian Black found himself with an opportunity and a tired-out opponent if he chose to enter the conflict...

Ian watched the display of carnage unfold in front of him with a mixture of awe and horror. He reached for his gun but thought better of it, hands shaking.
What the hell am I going to be able to add to combat?
Instead, he grabbed the Elemental and half dragged half carried her out of the immediate threat range and behind the car. He hoped the "detective" stocked a decent first aid kit.

Ian manifested from behind the car, trying to grab for Firebringer to get her out of the fight.
Alecto blinked.
Throwing the other's life to chance, for the satiation of Wrath that screamed within, was the choice of something feral and beaten.
The gun was trained on the Elemental, as if he thought the woman was just going to let her go. Twitch reflexes demanding for her to move, she made the snap decision that she needed to try.
