Mirror space was strange, a world of strange fractals and threats that would pull the unwary off into the space between reality and unreality where the Contract dragged the Elemental and her passenger through. On the other side, Firebringer was invisible, allowing her a moment to check the place out through the open bathroom door. All clear. The place was locked up tight, its basic security alarm on for the night. Everything was as it was expected to be, and there was even a spare uniform if Alecto wanted it. White blouse, black pants, real straightforward. It probably wasn't great for concealing blood, but if she was bandaged well or healed by someone, it would work out. They had a moment to breathe and try to staunch the injuries as best as they could with the first aid kit from the hardware store, if they thought to bring it along. For now, the only cop that was immediately coming was Finn. They had time, some of it, at any rate. The time was 12:30am.

One thing Danica was learning quickly was that the Beast was used to relying on herself. Once the Elemental tugged her through and gave the sweep, the stumbling club girl appeared white-faced as she pocketed the Bath and Body Works soap pump.
It had a sticky note imploring that it was for sensitive skin.
Her influence was thrown to the wind; staking territory with a wild call to the Wyrd. She held an ugly snarl to drag herself to the first aid kit before Firebringer even had the chance to come back.
She used super glue for the entry point, hands vibrating as she pinched around the wound and cried a silent scream around the shirt she held between her teeth. It wasn't great, but it did more than just slapping on a band aid. Face twitching and wet with tears, she smeared more blood across the face to wipe them away.
"Okay. Good. We're good."
Her claws were still sharp, glistening with the viscera of the man's arm.
She hadn't even thought to wash her hands.

After leaving the police, he had to walk around in circles and through some back alleys in case the cops decided to tail him.
There weren't many people out at this hour to blend it with, and the streetlamps cast hash light against his pale skin. But at some point, he had had to commit. Rowan knocked at the front door. Cupping his hands to block out the light, he looked inside to make sense of what was waiting for him.
This nonsense started after Megan and Ian showed up. He still had some words for Dani, and he wasn't letting her get in trouble before he said them.

Once out of sight of the scene, Ian had given Rowan his number and thanked him for playing along in the diner. He said he'd take a look into the plates on the "Fed's" vehicle and Rowan could contact him later for details if he was interested. From there he decided to Uber home instead of taking his truck. Driving off in front of a cop without a license seemed like a poor move, plus he didn't want them to have his plate if he could help it. He’d come back for it sometime tomorrow.
Unlocking his front door it took a great deal of effort to not just crawl into bed. He had more important things to deal with though.
During one of their few interactions, Roger had been kind enough to give him the names and numbers of a couple of desk jockeys who didn't ask too many questions. Hopefully one of them liked working nights.

Being an assistant manager and someone who frequently opens the shop, Fire disables the alarms, but doesn't turn on any of the main lights, save for the ones in the employee back area where she's slipped them into. When Rowan indicates he is there, she directs him around back to the employee entrance where she'll let him in. Every once in a while, she takes a moment to stare at her phone, hoping to hear from Finn.
When she comes back to Alecto, she is surprised by the way she has uh... fixed herself up. It'll be fine when Finn gets there. He can do more. "Hey. We should have a bit more time now, some to breathe." She purses her lips and then asks, "I'll get it if you don't feel like sharing right now, but what is going on with the Feds? Does someone have something against you?" She watches Alecto carefully, trying to figure out where her headspace might be at. She couldn't imagine it would be much more than just freaked out, frightened, fight and flight.
She takes a moment to gaze over Rowan, checking on how he is doing visually, also trying to get a read on him and how he is feeling.

Alecto couldn't get the pants on herself. It hurt too much, and of all things she was scared of pissing herself or vomiting from the shock as everything spasmed.
So did lifting her arms to try and put on the shirt.
She was at a point where the needling adrenaline of continued movement was better than sitting with the metal embedded in her muscle tissue, and got herself some water while the Elemental asked her questions and checked on her Darkling friend. She then proceed to help herself to whiskey straight from the well, dropping some bills on the counter as not to come off as a complete leech. Her pallor was as white as a sheet and her vision sparked as she bent to shovel some ice into a bag to hold to the wound.
The silliest thing was that she felt a flicker of tired, resigned loneliness. The hand was someone else's, so she allowed the fantasy of someone sitting her down and handing her these things.
She's probably scared of you, or just pissed how much you've inconvenienced her. You've dropped her in this crisis; you're in charge. Alecto's a badass.
"No clue. They shot at a random girl. I have some doubts." The answer was bit off with a numb tone. She wasn't pissed for the normal line of questions; moreso she just wanted to get the bullet out and be on her way and get out of these peoples' lives.
"You never had your replacement come at you? Or the Huntsman slide a hitman some cash?"

Memories like Ian's were rare, but effective. He knew the plate, no problem: HRK132. Ian's Contact took a few minutes to get the answer back to him, reporting in a flat tone that the plates were from Hertz Rent-a-Car, McCarran Airport. They'd need a warrant for further information. His pal at the cop shop chuckled and quietly said that he owed him decent tickets to the Golden Knights.

Rowan shrugged at Megan. "My replacement's not really in a position to do anything." Her hair was still tightly wrapped around his finger, safely tucked away in his pockets. He would have to wait for a moment when she wasn't looking at him to invoke the Contract.
"We managed to send the cops away. They have nothing. Gave me their card."

Finn pulls his van up about half a block from the address provided and texts Firebringer to let her know he's here. He checks his sidearm and grabs his kit, then locks the van before heading out to the shop. He follows the instructions Fire provides to arrive with as little fanfare as possible.
Once the door is opened he nods to Firebringer. "Hey, sorry it took so long." He glances around, at the Lost gathered, giving a nod to Rowan. While the numbers here surprised him, he wasn't shocked at the Darkling's presence. Rowan and Fire seemed to often be together, and when trouble came knocking on one of their doors, it seemed inevitable the other was there too. That must be nice, having someone always there at your back.
"Catch me up. What do you need?"

Fire purses her lips, "Didn't have a replacement. I wasn't important enough for one of those." She doesn't mean for it to come out as dryly as it does, but it was out there now. Nothing she could do about it. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to-" she sighs. I have no idea what the ever loving hell I am doing right now. So, please forgive me. Also... where is Finn?
She sends a text to Finn one more time, trying to get his ETA. She didn't want to see Alecto in so much pain for longer than she has to be. "Keeping an eye out for our dude."
But then there is Rowan. She keeps watching his demeanor and the little things he is doing. Something is bothering him, right? She lets out a slow breathe and says, "Rowan, can we talk a second? Not that we- Alecto, we're not gonna pull anything weird. Not going to leave you alone alone. Promise." She meant it. There is a worry though with Rowan. Does he have some bad news he is trying to keep to himself? Or is he really just bothered about something. Whatever it was, he seemed to want to tell her, so... sure.

"Y-you don't need to apologize. Saved you a shitload o- of trouble; at least your family knows you were kidnapped." Her eyes pinched and she downed more alcohol before setting the bottle aside. She kept running her mouth, taking shallow breaths.
As the Elemental danced around and nudged at her Darkling companion, Alecto grunted a laugh. "You know I've got super-hearing. Can't it wait? You were texting each other earlier. Either it's a magic ritual or something came up you don't want me to know."
Or they're running. It wasn't like she was stopping them.
"What if I collapse and whip my head on the counter? Y'all can gossip later." If she was serious, she would have offered Glamour. Bringing attention to it and offering condescending placation so they could be alone rolled over her as she grit her jaw.
It's like she's a kid.
"No n-need to apologize," she repeated as Finn emerged. Alecto blinked- he was massive. At his question, the Beast blinked at Firebringer, too stressed to hide her bewilderment that she didn't tell him. "Um. I've been shot." The 20-something blonde gestured to the glued hole above her kidney, clear in the bedazzled crop top outfit. "I already gha- ot myself ice and water and disinfectant. I've drunk some liquor because I don't have morphine on tap." She stared off, white faced and tired.

Rowan didn't even try to hide the Look he shot Dani. She really had a gift for misinterpreting everything, didn't she. "I think someone bleeding out is more pressing," he replied bluntly. He walked over to Finn and passed him the card the cops gave him. "I don't think they have something, but if you want to follow up."
He then made his way over to Megan, mindful of the vibes she was giving off - like an alley cat that was just as likely to claw your eyes out when you tried to help. "I heard the gunshot. Didn't follow, figured someone had to throw them off track. Black wasn't exactly subtle either."
"I can find you someone to patch you up, if you'd like. Bullet wounds are hard to explain to hospitals."

Fire grimaces a little, "I didn't mean to- I- uh. Oof." She shakes her head and takes a deep breath. "Yeah. Things. Wait. Yup, later." she wasn't in the mood to really put much thought at it. She felt like crap. She felt like a sitting duck and it felt as though everyone was making it seem like she wasn't doing anything. It made an ugly pit well up inside of her, nagging thoughts of insecurity hitting her mind.
She gets the text from Finn and goes to let him in, "Oh, Finn, thank god. Come over here and help us with our friend."
"We were at a diner, just met with this one," she points out Alecto, who is bleeding from the wound, "This dude Ian was there too. But, anyway. There were a couple of cops chilling out in the diner and then I noticed a car outside that just screamed fed. And, low and behold, we had the feds jumping in to try and get her. She... changed, but for some reason, they still came after us, recognized her somehow. Anyway, we were trying to get away, cops joined in with the feds, started shooting at us. She got hit pretty bad." She says it all as quickly as she can, trying to get it all out so that things can get moving. So Alecto can get patched up.
"You can help, right?" Fire needed to know she wasn't crazy and called the right person. It might have been selfish, but feeling like she hasn't done enough, it would give her some kind of 'okay, you're doing good', cause she definitely didn't feel like that right now.

"Shot?" The word was hardly out of his mouth before he was pushing past the others to see just how serious it was. "You said you had wounded, but I didn't realize it was this serious." Of course there was that dispatch call. Chances were pretty high he was about to aid and abet. That didn't matter, though. One if theirs was hurt. He quickly looks over the situation. The patient - yup, she was blonde - was conscious. That was good. There was blood everywhere. That was not. "Right. That looks pretty rough. I'm just a field medic, not a surgeon or a doctor, so I can't give you a full assessment. What you've done should help, but without a hospital your looking at a potentially lethal infection, provided you don't bleed out first." It was a grim prognosis to say the least. "I can help. Get that sealed up real fast and stop any infection, but I need to use magic to do it. And I'll need to use some of my own blood to do it. Your awake, so I'll ask for your consent before doing so. Also, do you know if the bullet is still in the wound?"Swift - Finn rolled 6 dice and got 0 successes. 5 2 7 6 1 1 Ask for a dramatic failure Swift - Finn, you know you want to! Finn waits for Alecto to give a short nod, the pain and frustration of the situation showing on her face. He drops his kit on the ground, flipping it open. He rolls up his sleeve, revealing layers of crossed scars on his upper arm; the light revealing the faint tracings of more, older scars along both forearms as well. "I don't suppose any of you thought to skin the bloke who did this to her? No?" His comment is under his breath, clearly not expecting an answer. He selects a blade from his kit, what appears to be an old Exacto knife. With a quick, practiced motion he slashes into his arm. Blood wells quickly from the wound. He drops the knife back onto the kit and cups his hand by the wound, collecting the blood for a moment before placing it and his hand on Alecto's wound. Moments pass, drawing out in a few short, quiet breaths as the magic gathers. Then Glamour surges and the blood is drawn into the wound, healing as it goes. Finn works quickly, applying his blood to the gunshot wound until it is healed, or until the healing stops.

After the call, Ian paced the room. Well, that was pretty much useless. Ian didn’t have any real friends within law enforcement. Maybe one of the others knew someone who could secure a warrant.
As he walked a tight circuit the knot in his gut grew. He didn’t like not knowing things. What did Megan do to garner this attention? What kind of average human would have been able to tell that blonde woman was their real mark? Did those gunshots do their job? He couldn't relax until he knew.
Within twenty minutes of him running the plates he was standing at the "Employees Only" entrance behind the café. He knocked, quietly, then stood off to the side. He didn't want to catch a surprise door, fist, or worse from any of the occupants.
