The True Fae are largely understood as god-like beings who are omnipotent in their own personal realms within the expanse of Arcadia. The Lost do not remember their Durances until their connection with the Wyrd grows enough to allow for snapshots to come together in lucid dreams. The goals and actions of their Keepers are only guessed at, as human minds try to assign a pattern and motivation to their actions. To do so is folly. However, assigning symbology gives voice to one’s own experience, and allows one to process and connect.
No one knows the Fair Folk’s True Names. What is known instead is a series of enigmatic titles that the human tongue can replicate and give these chaotic beings a form that can be comprehended.
Below is an overview of active Keepers that have influence over the denizens of Las Vegas, including your own character. Please select the one your character would come from, and understand that these descriptions are to help with themes and inspiration to tie stories together. While the Titles themselves are cemented for communication purposes, the examples underneath are guidelines rather than hard rules, and kept purposefully vague for that reason. Your Changeling could have known their Keeper as a different moniker that was relevant to their experience.

The Duke of ZephyrMajor Arcana: Death Realm: The Welkin Glade Heraldry: Purity, air, glass, prisms, blades Monikers: Aether, The Surgeon, The Great Mirage, The High Throne, Metatron Victims: Servicemen, crafters, liars, murderers, healers, dancers, musicians ReflectionsFairest - The Vision of beauty is without humanity. Imperfections have been purged into sterile, featureless, crystalline automatons. Ogres - Keepers of the Vision, consuming broken failed projects, forever hollow and hungry, only awakened to serve their function. Wizened - Spinners of glass and knitters of flesh, ideas scored away as stains and aborted dreams. Their existence is paradox, their passion never enough, until there is nothing left to offer. Darklings - Deceivers, helping the other cogs let go of buried memories. The Broken are cast aside when tainted with too much of the world beyond the Vision. Elementals - The raw power of the Throne, channeled and unleashed when the Vision is disrupted. The clear ring echoes through the halls as the noise is tuned to order. Beasts - A rare indulgence of chimerical projects, improving what could be, until there is not enough flesh to pin and stretch with feathers and scales cleansed and crystalized.

These lesser serpents are emblems of Fafnir’s power, fulfilling any avenue from the prolific sentry to a prized hunter. Ogres - Behemoths of gems and stone hidden among the twisting labyrinths and treasure troves, labouring in the pressure that can only be shouldered by their enduring spirit, and enacting vengeance upon would be thieves. Wizened - Keepers of wealth and sacred promises. Notaries, miners, and even the inspiring works of art themselves, revelling to the audience with the glory of their Keeper’s splendor with their poetry as propaganda. Darklings - Faceless liars, groomed for spycraft in the cracks and courts of the Emperor’s enemies. Their lives are gambled in a race to claim a bargaining chip, in stranger lands where failure is synonymous with death. Elementals - The rending force that births mountains, above and below the sealine. The angry tides, pressured molten rock ground, and the vacuum of precious air being sapped from the lungs of trespassers. Glory in power goes to another, and here the elements are hidden and chained for daring to dream. Beasts - The mask of the dragon is reserved for those of the Crown, lesser animals dumb and feral, lashing out at the unworthy and serving as wretches to hunt and consume. Only the strongest are able to stake territory in this unforgiving landscape.

The Tzarina of UmbraMajor Arcana: The Magician Realm: The Spire Heraldry: Shadows, tomes, precious metals, obelisks, crimson Monikers: The-Primordial-Dark, Zorya Vechernyaya, She-Who-Conquers, Isis, Kalma Victims: Unionizers, architects, rising stars, archivists, prisoners, researchers, the curious Reflections:Fairest - Living chalices that retain the joy and positive feelings of their peers, so they may not have to shoulder such distractions. These beacons of inspiration act as founts that energize the denizens left in the dark, offering the fire of life before their light is snuffed. Ogres - Drudge workers, tearing life from the land to construct markers of Its glory. If one surpasses the demands of such conquests, they are rewarded as icons of success, set to serve their final purpose in gladiatorial combat, and dreaming of joining the royal guard. Wizened - Enforcers of courtly decorum and watchful escorts. Servitude is the highest honour, and well rewarded as they shadow the privileged, keeping loyal to their benefactor and stomping out transgression with speed and tact. Darklings - Cast from on high as forgotten parasites, given repetitive, pointless tasks as punishment for their pride. The presence of light burns their flesh to smoke, and soon the concept of happiness is forgotten, their sharp grins only knowing hunger. Elementals - Light and void, reflecting one another with rippling, flaming enforcers and cutting, piercing darkness. The shadowplay stands vigil over the economy of light as it is threaded and hoarded by the Keeper, the overflow cast into the heavens below the starless sky. Beasts - Shifting, mischievous entities that are only known as pets to the Tzarina. Coaxing the love from their core until they are nothing but hollow silhouettes, they are desperately loyal to their Keeper in order to feel whole again.

Often living bright and brief, dying in a spectacular manner as they drive the fire forward as a fount of relentless energy. They serve as inspiring martyrs for those left behind. Ogres - The main body of support, providing armour, shared wounds, and shielding the advancing masses from retaliation. Metal behemoths charge as battering rams, the thunder of their strength splitting the atmosphere as the armouries are shifted between realities and forever propelled forward. Wizened - The wise run the gamut of rank and file, either falling under the footfalls of others for their ill fate, or rising as battle torn officers of hardened flesh. They often become mechanical and precise in nature as the strategizing never ceases, as long as information flows. The GreenmanMajor Arcana: The Devil Realm: The Black Forest Heraldry: the Wild Hunt, bone, trees, blood, panic Monikers: Artemis, Sylvanus, Damu, Oshosi, The Leshy Victims: Hunters, hikers, spiritual leaders, cutthroats, engineers Reflections:Fairest - The wolf in sheep’s clothing, be it the comely Huldra or the regal Kelpie, enticing prey from the edges of civilization into the rush of life and death so they may jealously feast on what is out of reach. Grace and beauty are a deadly warning. Ogres - The chroniclers of the ancient earth, hearing the true language of rock, rot and wood. These still figures rise from the landscape to bestow unspeakable secrets, with a tithe of sacrifice to the flesh. Wizened - Seers of the truth, following the signs until the body cannot bear the experience. The purpose is the journey, and enlightenment is giving the self back to the earth, so the cycle can begin anew. Darklings - The unseen eyes watching until nightfall, moving through wayward camps to reclaim to the dark. No blood is shed, no sound is heard, simply the absence of all once the sun touches the sacred glen and the hollowed trees are twisted with sadness. Elementals - Forces that shift and flow without pattern or warning. Seasons obey no order, the weather a capricious spirit that asks for supplication. Temperatures drop and rise with the smell of sweat and raw need, drinking emotion until there is nothing left to sap from the still worshipper, and they return to their Keeper with the harvest. Beasts - “All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and when they catch you, they will kill you... but first they must catch you.” - But the game doesn’t end with death, the trade of night and day breathing agonizing life back into the torn and swollen flesh. Keep running.

The Dauphine of FibresMajor Arcana: The Wheel of Fortune Realm: The Palace of Eden Heraldry: Weaving, flowers, statues, insects, decadence Monikers: The Bon Vivant, The Norn, Dalia, Arachne, The-Cracked-Mirror Victims: Conspiracy theorists, teachers, trespassers, scientists, warriors Reflections:Fairest - Frozen muses, encased in stone and wood to weather time just a little longer. Posed in states of raw emotion that burns through the subject at an agonizing speed as the world moves on without them. Ogres - Guardians of the gate, and keepers of the court, their overbearing presence not welcome among the noblesse, and kept to the architecture to serve a basic function. Looming suits of armour and carved figures burdening the base of a better sculpture. Wizened - Ladies in waiting, servants, and props of the party. The tasks never end, simply shifting between masks as the eternal ball spins at the center of time. Darklings - The beauty of the night captured in performing figures, doomed to die when the Keeper tires of such fancies, and decides the sun must come again. Perhaps the best will be blessed to eternity, but with so much competition, one must use their wits. Elementals - Life-giving water, the warmth of the sun, and the breeze that swirls in a still world, in a dance unseen to the actors on the stage. Beasts - The garden teams with life, transforming, growing, evolving in eternal spring. Mammals do not survive the march of time, bloating into meat and soil for the insects that simply shed the old.

The Necropolis Major Arcana: The Hanged Man Realm: The White City Heraldry: Silver coins, keys, molten gold, weathered stone, stale air Monikers: Anubis, The Packmaster, The Ferryman, Purgatory, Oizys Victims: Transients, addicts, survivors, the mourning, investigators Reflections:Fairest - Ethereal hosts, leading wayward souls to the quiet abyss with whispered promises and warm hands, the silent song waking emotion in the hollow darkness. Ogres - Bone gnawers and wielders of punishment, grinding the hopeful underfoot if they dare rise too high, but only when they think salvation is inches from their grasp. Wizened - Digging deeper and deeper into the void and cold, the knocking of stone warning all to stay clear of the descent. The abyss calls, and must be fed. Darklings - Sealed in veins of stone, their pleas serve as a warning to those who seek the embrace of the sky. Clawed hands reach out, pulling those naive enough to lend a hand in a moment of mercy and defiance of their Keeper. Elementals - The absence of breath, light, and foundation. These forces withhold their presence when the damned become too comfortable with their stability, and remind them why people used to pray to nature. Beasts - The shepherds, be it ravens, hounds, moths, or the dragonfly. The anchored and miserable, afraid and forgotten, are greeted by these energized guides, nudging them towards a new existence.
