Philicia clears her throat as the Wyrd instills a thick presence of Crown and springs the Chatelaine forwards the the director, listening as she eats her fruit and taps some of the cherry wine.
She silently mused on who he was worried about being rude to him.
Upon nudging the palettes, she tucked her hair, "Mhn. If the party is being held outside, I think adding more greens and browns might get a bit lost unless you accent it with something like gold. The pastels are pretty, though definitely more an Easter and cotton candy vibe. If we go in that direction, I think just embrace the cheese and go full on sexy candyland." She snickered.
"But if you're wanting formal, glamorous and mature, stick with option three." The Wizened didn't seem as invested in palettes and aesthetic choice for her Court, knowing everyone would have their own vision and opinion. "As long as it's fun; after Winter's reign, everyone will appreciate it."
Her phone manifested from the hidden pockets of the dress. "Did anyone mention the funeral rights?" there was a pause to the blank expressions, "We had two of our own destroyed in late October."

Riley raised an eyebrow at the suggestion of a sexy Candyland, and couldn't help their lip from curling at one end. The Twilight dancer's eyes flicked to the others present to appraise their reactions to that.
"Well if we go with more formal, gold would add a nice touch. " They agreed.
Asking for things to be more fun than winter was almost too easy of a request after how the last two rituals had gone. Fun was exactly what this Freehold could use after all that had transpired this year.
The moth attention was pulled back sharply to the queen at the mention of funeral rights. Riley couldn't hide their surprise and confusion.
"Uh- this is the first I have heard- " Riley looked to the others for a moment. Who had died? Why had the funeral rights not been mentioned prior?
"Who?"

"Ambrosia, one of our best scientists, and Marquel, an aspiring Claviger...actually, his cousin is missing too; his Avowed. Police haven't been fast on his missing person's file, the brother, because of their family's gang associations. Last time I spoke with Marquel, they were quite close to having enough money to send his brother to a better school and secure emancipated housing. I'm worried he might have jumped the gun with a risky offer to make that happen." She frowned: a lot of their people came from struggling backgrounds.

Agrippa nodded solemnly- as much as it was a gesture done in earnest, it also served to camouflage an unsettled confusion.
"I would suggest that a memorial be held at the start. That way the mood can trend upwards organically. It would also be symbolically poignant I think- remembering those who passed before looking forward to the new day."
They pursed their lips, mentally cataloging the few options they could think of
"We could leave space for a presentation of eulogies. Request those close to the deceased to write something to present, and have them speak from the main stage area once everyone has gathered."

The Queen nods absently to Agrippa, sweeping her attention across the table to assess subtle reactions and anyone who seemed to know more.

The Darkling seemed surprised by the news as if it was the first time they heard it. But their reaction was muted and contained. Their body language, and how they hold their face suggests a level of concern one might display, when told a friend of a friend passed away. It was hard to say whether they were more concerned about the deceased court members, or the news of the violence.

Agrippa sipped their wine and deflected by attempting to follow where the queen was focusing. They affected the polite awkwardness of someone who knew that they should act sad about a funeral, but simply couldn't put their heart into it due to not having known that the diseased even existed prior to their deaths.

“Oh no…”
Fake. See through.
“I had kinda heard about some of the nonsense about that...My condolences.”
He didn’t try to cover it up.
Should he bother her about it? Did she know more? Did he know more? He just wanted to plan a party. Sad face.

"We can discuss what you know later, mister Hartman," the Queen said, smiling sadly. "Thank you for your patience. The Clavigers and Knighthood will be conducting a thorough investigation. I have some...reason to believe this was sanctioned by an officer outside the Antler Crown without any consultation to my office. Whether this was murder or something unknown is up in the air, but!" she tapped the pamphlet, "That's what two Oracles and the Knight of Lores' Autumn magic is for. Thank you all for being patient on this matter."
Her throne was shaky. She would be taking the steps to find out who in her Court was withholding information to gain access to her peoples' justice.
"As you were saying..."

There was a nod of agreement from the Dragon as Archie spoke of the need to allow Eurydice to flow through the crowd. He had a good point and Ivory wouldn't argue it.
As the conversation moved once more to decor, Ivory remained present, but said little. The idea of some gold in the theme did cause her lips to twitch a touch wider, however.
Then came Philicia's subtle interrogation of the assembled and Ivory looked to be the picture of genuine shock, pale scaled fingers traveling to her mouth as she regarded the doll with wide eyes.
The story was a good one, painting the aggressors in a positive light, but what's done is done and Ivory knew it was in her best interests to keep her knowledge well hidden. She was under an oath of silence, after all.
