A quick mute of the phone.
"Do you even care about what happened to Ivory?"
He unmuted the phone

Rowan didn't say anything to Archie. He passed his hand over his face a sighed. 'Screw you, Hartman.'

Rowan's vision on the forklift reveals the last person to touch it was a uniformed forensics investigator, with other officers in the background talking about remains recovered and to be on the lookout for increased violence if the Crips decided to retaliate. However, this was particularly gruesome, and there was some argument on what would be released to the media: help the Cartel's image while giving pause to another gang, or allow the situation to aggravate and correct itself?

Finn listened intently once the call was put on group speaker. A lot of information was coming out that hadn't been made clear to him before. He was slightly amused at first by the circles being talked around here. This Fawkes was asking for substantive evidence to back up their claims - granted almost certainly to ascertain if they had any real way to connect this back to him - and the rag-tag group of investigators here kept throwing vague implications and unnamed sources at him. It was a tactic that might actually work, if that was what they intended to do and if they had Fawkes detained in a station somewhere. They didn't and the man could hang up on them anytime he wanted. Probably the only reason he hadn't was that he hadn't gotten the whatever information he was looking for from them yet.
Finn pipes up, adding to the conversation...

“Alright everyone, Fawkes is going to come and have a look around and see if there is something that can help us determine the next rung on the ladder. He said we need to make sure that forensics didn’t leave any cameras or anything else. So let's clean up anything like that so we can be good hosts. Finn, once he’s done here he’ll head straight to the station.”
Archie makes sure Agrippa gets his phone back.

Fighting the urge to delete the number from their contacts right then and there, Agrippa pocketed the phone and wandered away from the group without a word. There wasn't anymore cameras- they had searched just about every centimeter of this place, but the suggestion from Archie was a good excuse to duck under the radar and hopefully weasel their way out of further searing a negative image in Fawke's brainspace. Clutching their hands nervously infront of them, the helldiver paced about the building and stared intently at anything and everything that didn't have the greymatter to judge them.

A black 4x4 truck arrived after around forty minutes, gravel crunching lazily under the thick tires as it cruised into the expansive parking lot of the warehouse.
The smell of oil and gasoline rolled out with wisps of smog pooling at the Arrayer of Distant Thunder's feet like a wave of mist, his hand flashing with a spark as the door was closed. On the passenger side, the telltale porcelain sheen of Fawkes' face caught the noon sun, as he retrieved an equipment bag that looked like it should have been heavy, but he shouldered like a feathered purse. The Sun Banisher closed the door behind him with a dismissive kick of his foot, a little harder than necessary as he lit a cigarette in a mechanical, practiced movement. He might have been called pretty if the cold, bright stare and doll-like features had an inhumane, unsettling quality to it.
As the pair approached, Fawkes' Mantle mixed with his motley member's influence and the air began to feel oppressive as iron crawled in the back of the throat. It felt like a sniper had trained on them; like they were being sized up as targets, but Fawkes moved on right past as Sweeney opened his mouth. The Blightbent blinked, grinning sheepishly at the group with black-stained teeth. The other Elemental himself always looked a little sick, prominent blue veins snaking under his skin while the flesh of his forearms slowly withered to pitch black hands, muscle crackling with energy as the occasional streak of ichor leaked to the surface.

"Afternoon! You boys having some trouble?" Sweeney laughed, offering a large hand to whoever approached first.
There was an easy going vibe to him, despite Fawkes radiating irritation past the placid mask. Maybe he was just used to his quirks, or found the whole thing quietly entertaining.

"Hi Sweeney. Fawkes." Rowan greeted them from behind Finn, and probably Archie. Making sure to keep his hands in view, he looked at the glass Elemental. The last time Rowan had seen him, at Mabon, Fawkes' forearm was a wreck. It had been a while ago, but call it Darkling curiosity.
Rowan had connected a few things, regarding Ambrosia and the Hedge Gate, but was following Archie's lead to not tinge the newcomer's perspective. He stayed out of the way, trying to take as little space as his stature would allow him. Compared to Finn, he was doing great.

Finn steps forward, recognizing Sweeney from his own recruitment. He grasps the offered hand and gives a smile in exchange. "You might say that. We need a.....hmm....expert opinion?" The quirk at the corner of his mouth belies the euphemism for what it is.

“Afternoon, you must be Sweeney. Archie - and yeah, our building full of clues burned to the ground and we need a better eye than ours to try and suss something out of the mess that was left behind. Figuring the man who can make these things disappear is good at spotting the details.”
He smiled, and kept his game face on but he was exhausted by this cat and mouse game. He had done his best, and it felt woefully inadequate. He had put his own neck out, and was willfully ignored. He could have pushed Sweeny on the guns but at this stage, he was sick and tired of being snapped at and talked over.
“Hopefully we can find something worthwhile.”

Having no need to introduce themselves and with everyone already having said what was needed, Agrippa kept their mouth shut and gave the pair a small wave from their spot a few feet behind the rest of the group. They smiled apologetically, risking the chance to glance at Fawkes before centering hopeful attention on Sweeny- maybe the tagalong motley member would make this conversation go smoother. They hoped so.

Sweeney holds the mild smile as he regards Finn, "Not following." The Ogre's hand is left marked with a black handprint as he drops the handshake, "From what he told me, you were super keen on Summer's weapons being lifted by the mundane gang that got torched here being connected to someone in Spring attacking Eurydice? And some other thread where everyone kind of assumed he did it, because he's a Sicario and the place has been cleaned real nice."
He waited a beat for someone to correct him as he condensed the confusing phone conversation into two sentences.
"Now he's a little agitated, 'cause you gotta understand once in a while he gets weird calls where people are upset because they think he hurt some other people. And this felt like one of those calls, because then you got concerns about me, and Eurydice, and Hunters! And this whole implication that if he didn't drop everything to help you guys out, you'd give him trouble. Or, you were him he 'might want to set the record straight', and that he 'wouldn't want to get muddled up in a mess he didn't make after all'," he said, using finger quotes.
The Blightbent officer blinked.
Far beyond the immediate conversation, the mannequin sets up a table and started pulling out lighting equipment, a laptop, several lock boxes, and well as gloves. The stub of the cigarette was ground between his fingers and placed in a pocket, before promptly being replaced with a fresh one, and the searing blue light was switched on with the a portable generator. If he noticed Agrippa, he didn't make eye contact, keeping his attention squarely on the task.
"I should probably let you guys know that the whole bust was a fuck-up on my part. In the sense that I didn't expect one of my cache's to be breached by a bunch of young blood cowboys trying to make a name for themselves. I find putting shit in Hollows just asks Lost to try, right? Also makes the mechanical all weird." He chuckles, "They died here, so, I couldn't exactly ask who hired them, if it wasn't sheer bad luck. Like if they got cursed by an Ogre. It's a little annoying. So you think it was a Spring courtier trying to fuck with Eurydice?" Sweeney covers his mouth with his forearm as he coughed,
"Now, I'm not the smartest gent in the universe. I feel like, I dunno, taking a shot at the Summer court's weapons cache is asking for way more blowback than street cred with the Emeralds. Do you have a reason to think Spring's going to war with us, Finn?" As he asked, he smiled again in a reassuring way towards Agrippa and Archie.

Finn drops his hand after Sweeney without cleaning it off. He had at least that much sense. "No sir," he says in response, "at least not in the sense of Courts and Wars. I don't know enough about what's going on to offer more than theory and speculation, but for now I don't think this goes farther than individuals acting on their own."
He glances back to the group, and the Springs in particular, "So far we've been cooperating to find out what's been going on. I had no idea you were involved in this site. What I do know is that our evidence points to a drug being moved through here; a drug that uses Glamour. It's hurt Freeholders. We believe one of the Lost sworn to the Freehold is involved and was involved here. We arrive to find the place blasted well beyond what would be necessary, but only after the surveillance data had been taken - not smashed or destroyed. And there's a dead Hedge gate in the center. Makes me think Lost. Makes me think Elemental."
He shrugs then, "But this new information makes me think that the site itself might have been something else. Something more official. Maybe our alchemist was using official operations to cover up their work. Maybe that's why your mortals came here in the first place. No one's taking a shot at your cache, but someone running an operation not as clean as your own slips up. Draws the cartel here because of their drug war."
He pauses, letting that idea settle for a minute. "But I don't know much yet. I'd like to know more."
