All work and no play made Summer a very dull Court. Ask anyone. Who the hell liked joining an organization where nobody had a sense of humor or a social atmosphere? If all they ever were was a group of soldiers fighting an endless war, they would forever find that people decided to find their fortune in Spring or their knowledge in Autumn. This was especially true in a city with as good a track record of safety from the Fae as Vegas.
You had to make community. When you lived and died on the bonds you formed with the guy in the foxhole next to you, it was everything. The Verdant Court could not be the only group that knew how to let off some steam. Kai did what came naturally to her. She decided that she was going to have a night to let loose and she let it be known to Summer that she was looking...
...who would've thought that a hella popular guy like Loki would be down to host?

Loki pulled from strings, likely with some sort of status among the mundane to clear out a chunk of a normally busy neighbourhood. The Commonwealth was a well known establishment downtown, with an iconic rooftop bar with a spacious dance floor. The main floor had most of its furniture moved aside for the tried and true fraternal tradition of Flip Cup, with a board ready to write down contestants for various small prizes that allowed for one of the Lost to gain access to venues often far above their income. A quiet Snowskin manned the bar, his hood up and doing little in the way of conversation, but his hands moved with precision, roses of Summer frozen beneath the skin. There didn't seem to be any issue of speaking in code, or having to hide one's nature this evening. The rooftop had been set aside for greater breadth of movement, music ringing through the speakers and the open air of the neon city. The familiar markers of heat, light, and passionate energy had overtaken the block, a large chunk of the court available due to its modest size in comparison to the rest of the Freehold. The bar appeared to be open to whomever wanted to mess with the well. The VIP level, known as "The Laundry Room" was situated beneath for a more intimate setting from the roar of the upper floor, opened up to the Mantle of the Iron Spear. A few crows perched, watching from the top of the stairwell with quiet cackling.

Familiar faces numbered among patrons. Loki's personality taking up a good chunk of the room as he loudly chattered with the Arrayer of Distant thunder, the Blightbent's black teeth flashing while the nuances of Contract coordination in the field is debated. Three other Chevaliers were nearby, a serpentine giant of a man watching Apollo with sharp eyes as the Fairest aims a dart, the armoured woman known as Beryl had elven features and a braid as thick as a forearm nursed a wine glass. She was almost as tall as the giant, her skin shifted with the light, like a chameleon.
The Sun's Tongue, Cinderella glowed as she laughed into beer stein over an unheard joke told by the other young Spear, Rook, almost lost in the corner with his hunched shoulders and nervous eyes as his attention kept wandering back to the crows.

A dart flew over Apollo's shoulder, landing squarely in the double bull as Kai moved on past without stopping. She flashed the Fairest a playful grin as she rolled on by without stopping. Her cup was full of Stella's, her beer finding her lips as she gave their host a wave.
"Bet a Patron Silver nobody else matches that trick without Contracts."
Sip. The challenge was levied. Let the games begin.

The Ifrit arrives, anxious for what she is going to come upon. Her last court had been all about battle, dueling, prepping constantly. It is what she lived for, breathed for. The burn to fight back against the damn Others was often all she could think about.
When she gets to the venue, she takes a good look around. This was... not what she expected. Man... I was hoping for some kind of fighting ring around here. She felt eager to prove herself. Back home, she'd been a terror in the ring, but she's losing her touch.
She walks up, seeing the dart hit the board and was thoroughly impressed for a good moment. She approaches, "Sup, got a challenge huh? Do we gotta throw it over some person's shoulder for it?" She asks with a bit of a laugh.
Smoke burns in the air around the short fiery elemental, her hair like it is about to be lit aflame and her skin seemingly crackling.

The serpentine giant's head swiveled to track the dart as it flew over Apollo, hands flexing as if he wanted to snatch it from the air like a cat with a moth. Beryl laughed into her glass, waving the Kai and Firebringer, "Nice! I have the coordination of a drunk three year old, though," she bemoaned. "I'll throw in Grey Goose. Worth the show."Apollo jumps with the sudden challenge, flushing a bit from clearly taking too long. "Fine, fine," he muttered, taking the dart and spinning around in a flourish. He blinked in surprise, before masking with a cocky smirk, "Just like a knife," he hooted. "Kai, you meet the other Chevaliers yet?" He offered a hand of graceful digits to Firebringer, "I think I saw you at Samhain. I go by Apollo...this is Beryl, one of our best scouts. Big guy's Nathaniel. He talks, I promise, mostly to Loki though." He looked small between the two Ogres, despite his own height.

Linden sauntered in on the end of the introductions, flashing a wave and a smile at Kai. In a band t-shirt that had clearly had the arms ripped off authentically and weathered black jeans, the Ogre looked much like they ever did: androgynous, easy-going and strong. Though, in this instance they found themself quite outdone by the other Ogres present in terms of height and overall size. It was always a bit novel to feel small, but it wasn't necessarily a feeling they sought out.
Leaning on the back of an empty chair, they waited for Apollo to be done before speaking up. "Linden," they said by way of introduction, raising a hand for a single, brief wave. "And if I start throwing darts you'll all be sorry." The self-deprecation and amusement in their tone made it clear that this was not a brag. "But who... will rise to challenge me at flip cup?" Taking a step back, hands spread wide and chin jutting up briefly, the Ogre's challenge was playful but sincere.

"Sup!" Firebringer says with a pleased grin, nodding at all of the people that Apollo introduces her to. These people seem cool. "Nice to meet y'all. Name's Firebringer," Though now Ivory had made her feel just a little bit awkward about her Changeling name. It isn't like she chose it and she couldn't go around calling herself Danica.
"I'm your punchy, punchy elemental. You need fire, I've got it." She seems excited and eager. She's missed being around other Summers. She gives a wave to Linden as well.
"Just came from Baltimore. It's nice to actually get to meet up with my court." This is my second Freehold, I have no idea what to expect. Compared to the Ogres in the room, she must've looked like a halfling with her little 4'9" self. A little ball of fire with the fiery personality to match it.
She looks back at Linden, "Flip cup? As in flip the bottle shit or...?" There is that eagerness to dive right in, "Sorry, I get antsy. Where I come from we duked things out constantly for fun." So much of it was her challenges.

Kai flashed Firebringer a bright grin, gesturing at the board. "I mean, if you've got another stunt throw, by all means," she said with a chuckle. "I'm Kai Rose. What's your name?" The girl wreathed in flame had a certain intimidating aura about her. Needless to say, the Wizened did not want to end up on the wrong side of a battlefield from this one. Her attention was caught by Apollo's flourish, and she clapped once, twice, thrice for his matching trick. "Well, how about that? One Patron and one Goose," she gestured to Beryl's kind offer, "coming right up. Serves me right."
Apparently, she wasn't the only one with hand-eye coordination here. In reply to Apollo's question, she shook her head. "Not yet, no. Good meeting you folks. I've heard of the Chevaliers, but haven't had a chance to hang yet." Linden's arrival warranted a pleasant smile and a wave even as Firebringer described herself as... a bringer of Fire. Well, yeah. That made sense.
"I mean, I bet you can find plenty of training partners here for later. Tonight, though, we celebrate Loki's fine hospitality!"
It seemed like a room full of people who could throw down as required, but there was tons of time for that. A good party where they didn't have to front for the other Courts -- that was a rarity.

The fashionably late were gifted with an everlasting boon. Not once, would they ever walk into a cold room. The room was alive with bodies and smiles and libation. A perfect welcome for one such as Oren. An endless canvas of faces and dispositions. He would reflect all of them, their perspective sliding into view like a body passing by a funhouse mirror, before coalescing into stony angelic ivory. He saw a face in the crowd, by the dart board. He could never forget a face. But rather than point and shout, he slid very comfortably next to the small throng of Lost, beaming at one Kai Rose. "Hello, lovely."

Linden's arrival was greeted with various nods or waves, their challenge for flip cup getting the young Bright One's attention, "Omigosh. Yes," she laughed, tugging Rook from his stool. "Finally a university skill I can apply!" a small hand with blue nail polish was offered to the Ogre as she looked up at them. The edges around her pupils glowing as if she held a ring light aloft, diffusing into a galaxy within the iris. She gestured for Firebringer to come join them. "Figured we would meet at some point, you're Linden, right? And you're Firebringer! I go by Cinder when we're being all informal. I speak for Summer in the diplomatic sense." "Rook," the Wizened said with a polite nod. Looking over at Kai Rose, recognition dawned on him, "Oh, man- you were that lady with the Sunset Prince! When all the bullshit went down with time travel. God, that was a weird night... Watch out Apollo, she can run across walls." His laugh was quiet, before turning back to Linden. "You mentioned Flip Cup?"Beryl shook her head at Kai's request for the drinks. "Nuh-uh. Ties don't count. You'll have to keep going until someone loses."With the Polychromatic's cheer, Loki laughed and lifted his drink, which was taken up by the patrons that had one.

The cat-eyed Chevalier frowned briefly at Beryl's insistence. He seemed a little too distracted to properly great the other three Lost, looking around the room for some inspiration to one-up his spin.
"Oren, yeah?" Apollo said in a hasty greeting, running past as he vaulted over the table in a backflip.
The dart didn't land anywhere near the board, but he stuck the landing at least. Flushing at the ridiculous task he has placed upon himself, the stench of failure caused the Fairest to immediately call for a round of shots.

"Oren, hi!" Kai grinned as her Elemental partner in crime showed up. "One sec, man. Gotta bring it home." She showed him the dart, even as Rook commented on her wall running and the time travel nonsense. Then she was moving, a quick move to gain speed before she tossed herself into an aerial - a cartwheel without hands - and threw the dart from the bottom. It stuck into the dartboard right next to the other one, and the approachable Polychromatic just flashed a grin at Apollo's back as he went off to grab the drinks. "Good game, Apollo."
There was no need to talk shit. She was pretty sure the Chevaliers would do it for her, judging by what she had seen of them so far.
"Yeah, that was quite the night, Rook. Like, timelines within timelines at play - some Christopher Nolan movie nonsense."

The Ifrit was distracted by the various people who'd all entered. Wow. So many pretty people. New people. Am I going to fit in with all of this?
Suddenly some doubt makes it's way inter her, but she pushes it down. She's a damn summer. It's just busy and she doesn't know anybody. She doesn't know anybody... It took her no time to choose a court, but being in Baltimore was nothing new. She knew the gangs, she knew some of the people having not even known they were Changelings. This is entirely, 100% new.
"Oh, uh, nice to meet you Kai. The name's Firebringer. Feel free to call me Fire though if it is easier. The Springs seem to have nicknamed me," She laughs a bit.
She gazes about at Oren, "Okay, your names Oren? Cool. Was telling Kai, the name's Firebringer." Ever since she met Ivory and Riley, she's been slightly self conscious about the name. Like, hell. I didn't give it to myself, I freaking swear.
She watches the Polychromatic and for a second she thinks, Man, she's as pretty as Frosty. Crap, I'd take being a Polychromatic. Then again, being a legitimate fire was the best. Mostly. Almost called me Calcifer.

Rook gave Kai a sage nod, turning his attention back to whatever the Sun's Tongue had literally dragged him into.
Meanwhile, Apollo returned with a tray of shots, not so much slamming it onto the table between the women and Oren, but still a little extra as he kept the glasses in tact. Tequila and vodka lined the ring, along with his own input of something red and amber. Beryl nodded towards the bartender, intending to make good on her offering despite the Fairest's grandiose efforts.
"A short fire Elemental who uses their fists," Apollo said to Firebringer, nodding towards his Knight Commander, Loki, "You two should team up. Your name is more straight forward, at least. Not like jackasses who call themselves after gods. Anyway, you sound like you could use a drink." His smile had a wicked edge to it, the glow of the feline eyes lining up a second challenge to move on from his public loss.
"I heard you and Linden were going to look into that murder attempt," Beryl ventured, lifting one of the shot glasses, her chameleon skin shifting to reflect the light that bounced off the glass like a living canvas of military camouflage. She eyed Kai, and then Linden over yonder with the forming game of Flip Cup. "You're looking to get popular quick."
Her delivery was sweet and earnest, but there as a hidden warning about the attentions of the Emeralds somewhere in there.
Apollo blew a raspberry, "Why not open up with 'what do you do for fun?' Oren. I'm dying to know- because guessing what you're about is like trying to pin a fly with a needle. I've learned to just be straight with Torrents."
He cast his gaze to the other newcomers, gesturing the shot glass and welcoming them to weigh in on the question as well.
