Lost being upset with him wasn't a new experience; what mattered was that Gavin agreed to keep contact with them, or the seal would break and one of his motley would be aware that he had found Tanner. Autumn wasn't going to cover up whatever they planned on doing with a rogue Witness, infected or not. The Fairest would make it up to them once his people were safe—they didn't need to know about Dawn Catcher's Trods and networks if he was going to check them himself. Aello gestured to Aster pointedly, expression tight as she silently agreed with the viper. She wasn't looking to force Jack's hand, but she had to admit she was nervous about her motleymate's safety being priority with everything going on. Calling out to Golden to stop baiting the Summer, she noted the plugged ears.
On account of the Nightsinger.
The Winter courtier's eyes danced from the leaving Lost to the Summers looking to cage him, shining as the Fae's dirge roared in his mind.
A familiar crescendo rose that resonated with Gavin and Aster as Golden Boy's infected magic strewn through the ethereal roar that rumbled through the neighbourhood. The glamour reverberated the sound of a jet engine in the human ear, to mask the impossible note. Displaced air punched at Aster and Gavin's backs, causing a stumble as the massive silver wyvern's unfurled and took flight, before winking from sight and mind.
There was a beat, with Aello covering her face and her own hysteric snickering escaping her clenched teeth, body unconsciously rocking to the Keeper's song.
"...Who the fuck taught him that?" Lucky Jack shouted to no one in particular, gesturing for the Summers to mobilize as he started making calls.

The blast of song began to ruminate in his mind, drawing up subtle shifts in his perceptions of the world around him. The shattered glass had turned into the coarse sand of a dust blasted hellscape. Only he saw it blowing about any further than where it had landed when the reptile took wing.
Instincts roiled as he came to understand: his prey had gotten away.
The Dragon's little 'I will not be contained' tirade was understandable, but tiresome. Gavin was glad to have sealed up his promise to keep his distance. If things progressed to where Golden Boy started to interfere, Gavin could keep pace with him and force the reptile off to screen for Aster to get something done, or drain what little he'd have left in his mental batteries with a broken Seal.
There wasn't a long list of transformative Ogres around. The Beast's mind immediately jumped to the canny political cannibal. Grendel had even made a particular point of it being one of his few points of unique value to the Freehold. Why then would he agree to exchange that clause with Golden Boy after being so reticent about sharing with him? The Dragon wasn't his assigned Sword of Damocles, for one. That alone would not be enough though. He got something out of the deal or the Dragon knew enough to hold it over him. Gavin had need of other secrets more than he needed that clause at the time. This new information was giving him pause at that choice now. Grendel was also directly involved with the Order of Eternal Echoes. It wasn't a long leap that perhaps the topic came up because of that Entitlement and Tanner's membership. Something to think on.
"Send us a text so we have a way to update you, yeah. Unless you want a rock with a note on it coming through a window and us wasting time doing it." An effort to keep them in the loop didn't have to be gentle, and he was tired of them wasting precious time dragging answers out. Aello's hysteria landed on Gavin's ears as amusement and it pissed him off.
On his way out the Beast offered to Lucky Jack, "I Sealed his promise. Since we can be quick too, he'll be staying away from us. It's likely he's following up on Tanner in a different direction neither of them deigned to share with the class. If you come across anything that might help bring Tanner back in one piece please pass it along, yeah?"
With his responses in tow, he followed in Aster's steps.

Aster's features twisted, moving from annoyance to pure contempt staring at the silvered draconic form as Golden took to the sky.
If I need too, I'll kill him.
The thought remained unsaid. Aello didn't need that. With luck, all Aster would need to do is slap Golden after the fact, but the recent incursion meant that there were potentially other reactions. Why was Golden fighting them? With luck, she could address that with him personally once Tanner was found.
Looking to Gavin, the agitated viper spoke.
"We're losing time," she offered, "We need to know where Sage is. I might be able to tap a few folks, assuming the Cartel even knows about 'im. Otherwise, you talk to Aello. You're call."
Golden and Aello had not yet answered the question. Given that Golden was gone and Aello was a giggling mess, they had lost their best leads.

The harpy appeared to be struggling to settle the bout of infected madness, but she texted Gavin what she knew about Sage, opening the door for both Aster and Graves to tap their own knowledge and connections with the streets.

Volunteering to take the lead in the investigation to find Sage due to her connections, Aster would get on the phone in order to hit up her allies in the Cartel. The conversation itself was largely in Spanish, occasionally slipping into English slang and statements as Aster conversed with her associates on the other end in a friendly enough manner.
Seeking information, Aster poked their brains to see what they knew about the kid, looking to learn his territory, usual hangouts, and explained her desire to talk with Sage about respect and to address some recent threats to some associates of her own.
Naturally, the Serpent would also inquire about Sage’s associations. Aster had no wish to shit where she ate if she could help it and the Cartel was a source of occasional income. If Sage was one of the Cartel’s boys, that complicated things, though it didn’t necessarily them. Now and then it was sometimes better to ask for forgiveness when it came to getting your own shit done.
Unless she was able to net a Lost on the phone, Aster would keep the details on the mundane side of things, but a Cartel-affiliated Lost would learn she was dealing with Freehold business if they probed her overly much.
Gavin himself assisted in his own way, with the pair as a whole eventually piecing what they could together when the phone call finally ended.

Shoes were on and his phone was buzzing with the necessary digits to follow up on the drug dealer. The Summer Elemental seemed mostly satisfied with the quick exit the pair of Beasts were making from the zone intended for quarantine and only just caught a glimpse of Gavin lagging back a moment.
The Razorhand could not help himself. He was in the lair of a Dragon that just fled the nest. It was time to steal away with the eggs. A primal call to action from his reptile brain. The clawed hand reached around the corner and slipped the fridge open, one eye scanning the room for the shadows of a returning guardian. None appeared in the scant few seconds he had required, and the carton of eggs were away with him. The door sliding shut with a click.
Aster was already somewhat rushing herself, impatient with Gavin's momentary lingering with Aello and was already on her way down the building's stairs. He skipped a few stairs in a dash to catch up. He had his prize and it was time to make the getaway.
Arriving at the lobby the pace slowed and the calls began to flow. Gavin worked some of the people he knew to get a feel for the drug connections on campus and shared the list of names and numbers to follow up on with his fellow reptile. She had a crew to call on, so it was only natural that he fall in line to support her more extensive connections. He diligently followed her lead once cartel people showed up on the list that was not an area he liked to mess around in, nor did he speak the language.
When there was a break in the flurry, Gavin opened the egg carton with wide eyed delight. Delicately pulling one of the treasures from its seat, he moved to place the cold offering in Aster's hand, "have some."
