Ivory was deflecting, but elements of the truth still resided in her words and her actions. The deflection itself seemed to be Ivory's attempt to remain polite on the matter. However, try as she might, the Pale Dragon's attempts to shield her feelings on the matter faltered under Rowan's perceptive gaze.
Slight eye movements, frowns, and the slight furrowing of her brow told the Darkling that Ivory's grief over Agrippa was outshone by her wrath. She was far more angry than saddened in regards to Agrippa's disappearance and her earlier statement showed the greatest weight for her anger rested on Bonnie Hill.
Whether by her own draconian ideals or the subtle influence of her allies in the Summer Court, Ivory felt like justice needed to be served. Regardless of what the missing Unicorn would want, Agrippa needed to be avenged.

He didn't say anything. He simply took the information and squirrelled in away, deep, right next to the knowledge that he had caused this. There was little he could do for her anger.
Heck, there was little he could do about his own. It was a smouldering ember that had lodged itself in the pit of his stomach and reminded Rowan of its presence all the time. He wasn't angry at Bonnie, not more so than he was angry at himself, and Dani, and Agrippa, and Linden. He resented the act of self-sacrifice, unsolicited and foolish, or the responsibility that the deceased had left the survivors with. They were dead, but the Autumn Courtier understood that dying was scarier than death by magnitudes. With the King taking a personal interest in his case, that might just be hid fate.
"I don't know if we're friends or not, but I'd like to think of you that way. If you need to talk about it, I'll listen." He could at least do this much. He cleared his throat to dismiss the grim thoughts, taking time to formulate his next request and giving Ivory the chance to take him up on his offer.

There was a slight shake of her head.
"Discussing it makes little sense in advance of the trial," Ivory said, "Your sovereign and his magistrate will come to a decision. My thoughts on the trial will do little to sway them and I'd prefer not to discuss the matter of justice in hypothetical. At the end of the day? A fellow vassal of the Knight of Rains - and a dear friend - went missing due to what I understand to be an Autumn ritual. Given that there is a trial pending, I don't really need to hypothesize the feelings of your sovereign on the matter. Trials are rarely called unless one feels strongly that there has been a violation."
Then a pause.
"And... if I didn't think of you as a friend, I wouldn't be here, Rowan. I would have politely declined," she concluded, "I simply bear no interest discussing the matter until the Leaden Mirror can appropriately weigh in and find justice for the lives lost, both Summer and Spring. What happened was a tragedy and tragedies are rarely unavoidable. Mistakes were made and they must be corrected or excised to return things to order."
That was that. If Rowan wanted to discuss the finer details of the matter, he would not find a willing listener in Ivory. She was avoiding the matter, as she bore little power to affect its outcome.

"That's not-" He stopped himself. He would not pressure Ivory into doing something she didn't want.
"That's nice to hear. I think I need friends. What you told me at Litha made a lot of sense. About having people who help you out? And like, I'm not good at people in general, but you are."
Admitting inadequacy was not something that came easily. He shifted from one leg to the other, mustering the will to press forward.
"I was wondering if you could, like, introduce me to people? If you have time."

Ivory listened to Rowan's request, her temperament cooling as it became clear that Rowan had no intent of continuing the discussion of the trial and her feelings toward it. Some things were best left untouched.
"I can do that," she offered, "Who specifically, if anyone?"

He shrugged. “Reputable people? I’ve been having a hard time maintaining my relationships and it’s mostly on me. I’ve been seeking out people who might be useful to me.”
Rowan looked uncomfortable. Despite his facial expression not changing, it was easy to see him fidgeting. He kept shifting from one leg to the other and kept his hands in his pockets.
“I just- I wanna try making friends. And you know who to avoid.”

There was a thoughtful nod from the Pale Dragon.
"I'll see what I can do," she said, "I'll send you an invitation to get to know some of my own contacts. Given my proximity to the Knight of Rains, you will find most of them understanding and relaxed. To a point."
"Otherwise, we integrate you my way. No threats, no hiding, and, certainly, no walls. I know it will take time to dismantle the latter two, but I am here to help," she said, "You must be amicable if you are to let others in. If you agree to these terms I will help."

"Fine," he grumbled, a definitely teenage sound. He wasn't in a position to dictate terms after all. "I'm willing to put Glamour on it, if you need."
Words were empty things, often said in the spur of the moment just to be cast aside and forgotten. Every Changeling he knew, except maybe Loki, believed in the added security of the Wyrd. It was a testament to his resolve, his Desire to change. He appreciated Ivory's firmness with him - it made him feel normal, adjusted. It was a thin veneer, for now, but together, they would work on something more lasting.
