The Unicorn successfully unbuckles Ivory's seatbelt in a swift movement, leaning into the front to shove her forward. The maneuver is complicated in the chaos, only serving to jolt her but at least she wouldn't have to struggle with one arm as Agrippa flattens themselves.

The last thing he needed was to get shot. Agrippa already saw to Ivory, so he found that the next best thing was to hunker down with what cover could be provided, but not before trying to spot the shooter.

Oren's quick relay of the scene clocks that one shot came from up high and from cover in the direction of the bank or the surrounding buildings.
There was a sniper somewhere.
The back tire led him to note there was a secondary vehicle parked behind them. Who knows how long Ivory had been tailed, but it was now clear at some point she had been spotted. The Fairest trying to continue to follow the high profile criminal after the target had received a warning call had likely triggered the firefight. Agrippa's earlier announcement signaled it might have been about the firefight Mitchell was involved in—the timing too close.
This woman had people on her bankroll, and they had looked awfully suspicious with their timing—neutralizing a potential second hit to their people. The BMW wasn't going to be able to pursue Melnyk now.
As the trio kept down there was a slight tingle of relief when gunshots don't ring from the front into the engine. The vehicle has gained exceptional distance, the figures within no longer visible.

Melnyk was gone and part of Ivory felt the fault was her own. However, the sudden shock of pain cause Ivory to reel a pained yell of surprise and anguish leaving her throat as the force of the shot sent her backward into her seat. Then came Agrippa, calling out to her and hands attempting to coax her down as the left side of her leather seat became stained with crimson. Ivory was wounded. Her emotions mixing between fear for her life, anger at the damage to her vehicle, and, oddly, a tinge of annoyance at the prospect of yet another hospital visit to explain to Anthony. Chugunkin's favor was coveted, but was it really worth all of this? In any case, none of it mattered. Not right now. In this moment, Ivory, Penrose, and Agrippa needed to survive. Ivory wasn't a fighter. Moreover, the shot had knocked out whatever fight she might have had, but she mustered the strength to do what came naturally. She couldn't fight... but she could still use the Wyrd to weave a Lie. Sitting up in her seat as the Wyrd course outward, Ivory calls out with fury and a sense of indignation, tempered as it was by her pain and weariness. "You fucking idiots!" Ivory was pissed, but in far too much pain to do anything violent. Still, what else would one say when subordinates fired upon them? Ivory couldn't afford to be meek, lest her actions promote suspicions that could lead the gunners to the Truth. Time would show if it worked. Another beat.
No shots were fired from On High.
A man in the vehicle behind them laid on the horn, gesturing for them to get inside with a shocked look on his face and offering a get away as sirens whooped on the horizon. It was up to them whether they wanted to be processed as victims of a shootout, or take the getaway Ivory's new ally was offering, but it was going to have to be within the next few seconds to make the call before he had to bail.

Face buried in the carpet and mind still reeling from the shock, Agrippa's breath caught itself in their throat as Ivory screamed insult at the shooters. They looked up, locking wide eyes on the dragon and nearly accusing her much the same before they realized what she had truly done. They jerked themselves off the ground so abruptly that the car rocked in response and saw their would-be tail offering a ride. Their hands were on the door handle before they had the chance to think, and they just barely managed to stop themselves from running out before they had the chance to speak
"I'm taking it!"
They nodded towards the get-away car, voice breathless and drenched in panic
"My records aren't good enough for police. Are you taking it?"
Though they looked to Ivory primarily, a glance to Penrose made it clear the question was for them both
"Will you be okay? I- I'm not- I don't know first aid."
They looked positively miserable

A pain ridden Ivory looked over to Agrippa, her face swiftly focusing on theirs as they spent the little time they had asking questions. Her expression was one of frustration. Why were they still there? "It's my car," Ivory answered, her tone curt and to the point through the pain of her injury. The car and blood was 'Abigail Cartwright's' so Ivory would be processed whether she left or not. That and Ivory's secure identity among the mundanes was, by now, a well-established fact. "Go. Now. Quit fucking around."Ivory could apologize to Agrippa later. Right now wasn't the time to be polite. She needed the two of them out of her car and she needed them gone now. "Both of you," she quipped, a glance darting to Penrose to include him in her demand. Ivory's good arm reached, her hand fumbling through her center console and retrieving an old, shitty pack of cigarettes. It'd probably been in there months. Maybe years. "Close the doors when you get out."That'd make the investigation easier. If they felt she was alone, Ivory could probably weave a narrative of being interested in property. To that end, she set her smart phone to display the recent listings for the neighborhood on a realty website before tossing it in her lap. She paid the other two no mind. Her wants for them to leave was clear and, to her, they'd be fools to stay behind. " Stay alive, would you?" There was no question as the Wyrd was beckoned in name of the Shrewd and the Unrelenting. Ivory was going to obfuscate, and Penrose had every intention of using the smokescreen to get himself clear. He took the opportunity and got into the other vehicle, but not before sniffing after his own invocation of the Wyrd; his Relentless Pursuit. He would keep tabs on Melnyk and trace her position. This mission may have been messy, but Oren had every intention of spilling blood tonight. It was simply a matter of when.

The Ivory had given the word of permission, and it was all that was needed for Agrippa's instinct to finally fully take over. Without another word or even a nod of acknowledgement, the unicorn snatched their phone from the seat, leaped out from the car, and slammed the door shut on the way out. They booked it to the tail car, pulling the backdoor open with the same urgency and nearly throwing themselves into the back seat. Something at the back of their mind was screaming at them about just how badly this could all go if they didn't figure out who exactly these people were quick enough to pretend to be an ally, but that voice was screaming about a future Agrippa problem, so present Agrippa didn't much care.

Ivory shakily smoked through her shock as both the block is cleared of an active shooter and the police clog the road. The ambulance comes after as one of the officers questions her on the way to the hospital. It wasn't horribly invasive — a quick background checked turned up nothing and she was clearly a victim. She was asked about potential motivation on who or why, but her grey-truth that it was likely a misunderstanding held long enough. She's diagnosed with fractures from impact and stitching, along with the bullet being removed and kept as evidence while she was sent home with painkillers and contact information for communication on the file. Her vehicle was seized as well for the time.
Oren directed for the pair to be dropped off at the Strip, not seeing any point in stretching Ivory's magic — his Mask was close to dropping and he was running on fumes. A quick tour of glutting himself on the highs of the tourist trap would do the trick, but it took some aggressive coaxing to get Agrippa's confused stare to play along. The Beast didn't want to lose the lead, not fully understanding what Oren intended to do. After various iterations met with a innocent blinking, he spelled it out. Quite literally. He then vanished from view to pursue his own Wild Hunt, as Agrippa was left to parse a murder. They opted to order some miserable cheese fries while they stared off into the darkening sky.
Their phone dinged to indicated Mitch had been recovered.
For Oren, the act itself wasn't complicated. He took a face on duty, walking into the property as one of their own (if anyone bothered to check the cameras, otherwise he remained unseen). Time was on his side, with the Contract favouring the Torrents till dawn anew, so he took one of the ridiculous ice picks from the fancy bar while he helped himself to a toast to political victory. Vengeance for the block was then shoved into the ear canal of Maria Melnyk just after she retired herself for the evening.
Greeting Chugunkin, the Elemental slid the phone with pictures of the evidence, while conveying Solomon's appreciation in being part of inter-court relations. He wasn't shy about touting that he was integral to securing the block for Spring's project, as the others weren't ones to pull the trigger. They did, however, show themselves tactful in uncovering the web of power with their social prowess! Now isn't that nice?
Chugunkin reached out to Ivory and Agrippa, relaying that the Sun Banisher, Roger, had doctored enough footage where the pair was cut from jumping into the shooter's vehicle and absent from the start. Abigail Cartwright's name was aired as a novel target due to being a recent widow to a congressman, leaving some tabloids to speculate her involvement. However, their curiosity mysteriously dropped as soon as the first inquiries blew up her phone. Chugunkin offered immediate healing from his own hand for the Pale Dragon's trouble, visibly frustrated that their investigation under his watch had somehow escalated to them being on the receiving end of violence.
To date, Cartwright's housing charity, Giving for Las Vegas, has seen lots of success with offering legal aid and translation work to the families negotiating their businesses, owned properties, and new tenancies as the neighbourhood sees no violent pushback to the slow march of gentrification under the shadow of a massive stadium.
