He saw the struggles, he heard the challenges, and he nodded along with what they were all brought up and presented to him. They were all valid of course, this wasn’t a case of things being easy, it was a case of learning. And yes this was very much deep end mentality with where he was throwing them. He wasn’t going to let them sink, they were his motley after all...His friends, and they trusted him and let him into their lives. He wanted to try and do more for them.
“So poker face, right? Lets people determine what kind of money it takes to deal with you. Next is understanding how to look at money itself. Sure it is a lump sum, right? Its not about what you can do with the whole thing, but figuring out what you can do with $100, or $300. If you can make something off of that, then you can do it multiple times.”
He offered a way to view it past sticker shock.
“Need space? Storage is $75 a month, lets you keep whatever you want - can even get refrigerated. Collectibles, metal, heck, even pokemon cards these days. You can even use this to take opportunities to go and catch a name so you can stay on the level.”
Money for an ID was nice, would let Linden put pen to paper and sign for something
“Or you can both outsmart me, put your heads together and do something together and double that money.Listen I know I kind of popped this but while I admit I was never going to starve, I was always facing mediocrity in the face. I know you two can get passed that easier than I ever did if you put your mind too it. So please, for me, at least give this a try?”

"Ah'rite Ah'rite" Riley holds up their hands.
"I'll give it a shot. But I ain't gonna like it," The Moth says with both a serious and teasing all at once.
Looking to Linden, they gave a shrug. It wasn't like Archie was going to take their fingers if they didn't pay up.
"Maybe the two of us can knock heads on ideas." Riley chuckles a little.
Archie helped placate the anxiety they felt about this kind of money. But Riley didn't know the first thing about money or investing. It kind of felt like that stupid baby assignment from Highschool. Where Riley had to pretend to take care of a kid for two weeks. Hopefully, this will end better than what happened to the doll.
"I could chat to Claire, see if she has any ideas. " I won't tell her that I Have the money; that will bring up way too many questions.

Stretching their neck first to the right, and then the left, Linden let out a held breath. "Okay. I'm in too, I'm just going to need a minute to process. I'm not exactly a great planner." The words left their mouth and their eyes dropped to their cup. Why was that? It hadn't always been the case. But at some point it became petrifying to try and envision the future, try to build beyond what they already had. They had a roof, food, friends- what more was there?
At the core of it, what Archie was talking about was planning for the future- a time they had trouble placing themself in. They took things as they could: paycheck to paycheck, month to month, rarely making plans more than a few days in advance. How were they going to invest money, knowing they had to be around to see what happened to it?
So many people would jump at this opportunity, it wasn't fair to look at it as anything but insanely generous. Pulling their thoughts together, Linden slammed back the end of their drink. "How did you start making money, Arch? Your clients?"

He had a twang of guilt. He had hoped there would be more enthusiasm about the whole experience but he could tell the apprehension and the reluctance. However it didn’t dissuade him from the importance he placed on this whole ordeal. He was grateful for Riley going ahead with this entire pitch of sorts. Linden seemed lost in thought and so Archie would answer the query with gusto seeing as this seemed like a normal Linden sort of mood.
“Me? I really only started making a few dollars when I was going to school. Knew some friends who had a punk band, and was also down with one of the managers at a local bar. Said I would make the introductions and after it got them in the door with a payday I figured this was some good stuff. So I kept doing this, did the paperwork to make sure I was protected and started to make inroads where I could. It was all about going out, meeting a few people figuring out what they needed and bringing what they wanted to them. Then after that once I was established I cast a net and started going the other way because people would come to me looking for what they needed.”
A bit of a run away but it was an insight to his own humble origins of making money with two drinks.
"The trick is percentage. I don't really have any real talents, so I will help you live your best life, and just need something off the top so I can eat. Right?"

Riley watched Linden for a moment taking in the way they looked at the bag. The ogre was processing something. Riley had been around them enough to know whatever it was that this money brought up, it wasn't comfortable. However, the Darkling knew better than to draw public attention to the discomfort in the Gargoyle. They shoot the summer courtier a soft smile.
"Hey, take your time. We got some time to figure it out," They offer.
They took a long sip of their drink, finishing it off as they looked back to Archie explained his humble beginnings as a band manager.
"Punk band, huh?" They chuckle. "That's not what I expected, honestly. " What had Riley expected? Actors? Or maybe He started as an assistant?
Riley opened their mouth to argue that his management was a talent, once again. But decided not to bark up that tree for a moment. Instead, they shook their head.
"Percentages got it. Now I need to figure out percentages of what" They laugh a little.

"Okay, percentages." The way they repeated the word suggested they weren't really thinking about it at all, despite the nod of their head.
They looked to Riley and then to Archie, trying to spark some idea of what they could do. "I'm... kind of stumped. I mean, probably best to stick to areas I already know a bit about? Which means bars, brawling and-" grasping for something else, they laughed awkwardly and added, "Being queer. Something to do with the bar scene probably makes the most sense."

“Queer friendly bar tours? Rent a bus, charge per seat, get some tourists from point A to point B - let Riley handle cover and make sure things don’t boil over. Linden keeps a sharp eye out for any trouble and acts like a total rock. No overhead on materials, the bars cover all of that for you. You just need to make a phone call to make sure the bar has room, or maybe has perks, pay off a driver if you need one, and get a dozen people charging way too much but let them rest assured that they are getting the local queer experience.”
He shrugged as he smashed their ideas together.
“If you knew two who worked in talent you could probably see if he could line up some shows or special events to help spice up the scene for days you would hit them up. If you did know someone like that would probably be the handsomest person”
His eyebrows raised with that statement.
“It's a thought, it's a start. There are always more options but how about we dig in, and get to gossip instead of business?”
