"And...CUT! Take five, guys. We're doing great! Prep for Scene 19. On in five, people!" The bells rung out, calling all hands to hop off their dollies and stop the presses. Oren leaned on the prop bar, having just spent twenty takes mouthing peas and carrots with another twenty-something counting the minutes. He felt a kindred impatience, but the gulf between them was woefully apparent, for he had a taste of all that she aspired to be. Granted, it was a horror unlike anything she would ever see, Blumhouse be damned, he pitied her and her lack of experience. All the same, they would be collecting their checks at the end of the day, so at least they had that to bemoan about. And yearn for. He pulled at the chains around his neck. The leather around his waist. He was busy envisioning the persona of this cardboard cutout of a person. As an extra, he couldn't depend on the director to give him a sense of... Young Barfly. He mulled over would be names, clicking his tongue behind his teeth as he sauntered to the craft table. He would accept any role in the universe for the splendor of the Craft Services Table. And appreciate any chance to bump into someone even loosely familiar. That was always a treat. Especially if they were from another production on the lot. He loved a stowaway.

Riley's mask today wore the face of another. At least to mortal eyes, their Mien remained a clear to the lost. They didn't want her mask to be seen on the set; with her rising status in the entertainment scene, she didn't want the attention, not today. The Moth made her way across the set floor, dodging past some Grips lugging C-stands and a P.A who looked like he had not had a chance to sit down in the last six hours. The key to getting around a film set was to look like you knew what you were doing. Which is how Riley was able to nab a cold brew from the Crew-only craft service table. The sight of another Lost and a familiar one at that drew her attention. She fluttered her way across the room, avoiding the incoming camera team and the dolly crew before landing near Oren. "Well, fancy seeing you here," Riley said with an amused smirk.

"Hey, yourself."
All smiles and a gentle wave, Oren promptly shoved a doughnut into his mouth. He had become a master of talking with his mouth full, talking around the crumbs. "God, this is dry."
He held it within a napkin, with every intent to throw it away and making absolutely no moves to do anything about it.
"Does this one have a name?", he asked pointedly. He was genuinely happy to see them. "It's a good look, all things considered. I would have tried on something new, but today just felt like a me day, you know?"

Riley chuckles at the doughnut. "Yeah, I bet that's been out since four am. It's Maria"
The moth smiled at the compliment before taking a sip from the Coldbrew.
" Yeah, I get that. I don't wanna draw any attention here; this is just sort of fun on the side thang, ya know? "
Riley glances around the organized chaos of the set for a moment. "I dunno the stop and go of film isnt always my thing. How about you? "

"I honestly forgot about this one."
No, he hadn't.
"I totally get it. I'm taking Apollo's words to heart. It's actually quite easy playing thirty-sixth fiddle. I don't know what I was so flustered about in the very, very beginning."
Now, that was rough. Saying his name. They weren't even that close. It all just felt like a missed opportunity. No matter, he had done his mourning. That time had passed. Besides, Riley was much more chipper.
"Say, Maria...have we ever worked together?"
He meant that in a professional sense. Stage. Film. Couch? But he supposed the question broached on work for the Freehold as well. They'd respond in whatever fashion best suited them at the time, and Oren had no issue.
It was just fun to talk.

Apollo, she had not been particularly close to the man. His death had made ripples both within the freehold and entertainment world: a fading echo, a trickling reminder of those events—those failures.
The moth shook the creeping thoughts from her mind and took a sip of her cold brew, raising an eyebrow at the question if they had worked together.
You would have remembered me, darlin'.
Following the mental feather, preening was a dawning realization that they may have. There was every possibility that the Mirrorskin had been part of a job, and Maria would never have known.
"Not that I am aware of. Have you done much work at the local adult clubs? theatre or film arent my scene often. Back up dancing, variety show, cabaret, kind of thangs are more my scene. I haven't had an actin' role in a while," At least in the traditional sense.

"That depends, are you older than me?"
He had done sex scenes. He hadn't done porn. At least, not by general audience standard. It occurred to him then that they may just as well have been on the same call sheet and never knew it. Before he had ever come into the fold, even. There was that one time...
" Ever shoot for Four Chambered Heart?"

"Well, that's a hard one to answer, ain't it? From a guess, I'd say older. but looks are deceivin', arent they? "
Maria couldn't help but let out a laugh at how fast the conversation moved towards porn work. She was, however, pleasantly surprised by the suggested producers.
"Never had the pleasure. Though I am a fan, and I know a few folks who have. "
They couldn't help but reflect for a moment on their job choices and work since they arrived. In truth, "artful" would not be a word most would describe most of Riley's work in the sex industry; of course, the Moth had some strong feelings otherwise.
" I believe we could do this dance all day and still find ourselves no closer to the truth." She laughed and glanced towards the set for a moment as the lighting team shifted a prominent light fixture.
"What's your 'thang' by the way? Saw you at the auditions The Pearl. Great stuff, wouldn't figure ya doing background work."

"My 'thang?" He wanted to put the word in his mouth and move it around a little. Texan? Definitely southwestern.
"I like to think of myself as an Everyman. I never forget a face. It makes me well suited for performance."
He reflected on his words, just as much as his body could reflect the world. "I adore film, but musical theater?", he patted his chest where his heart would be, "Changed my life. Made me who I am." There was a graveness to that he wasn't expecting. It made him think about one of his very first lessons in the Amphitheater.
How a body was composed of so many smooth muscle threads, bone fasteners, and skin layers. How it can twist...
"Now, I know what you're thinking. Classic backstory. Little curly-haired ragamuffin singing show tunes at the bathroom mirror with his mother's hairbrush?"
He laughed. "Choir boy, actually."
Now that, was a deep cut. "How about you? What's your 'thang?"

"Musical Theater, huh?" Maria beams, the living light within them seems to swim and swirl.
However, how the Oren spoke of it shaping him gave the moth a slight pause; it was the tone of his voice. How easy he fell into roles. His mouth playing with her accent, twisting it and echoing it. Some might be offended, but the Twilight Dancer was more intrigued. Yet there was a feeling that slithered its way across their flesh at how he reflected their voice. It was uncanny, unsettling as it was harmonic.
"Choir boy? Ah'rite yeah, I can see it. My folks tried to get me into the church choir, didn't work out." Her antenna flick and swish at the idle thought.
"Something we share, it seems. Musical theater guided me towards my passions when I was younger. Dance is my first love, but these days my passion and focus are Burlesque. Sometimes I miss classical and Modern."
Maria looked Oren over for a moment, taking in the transparent eyes and carved marble and ivory.
"I never got to go see many musicals live m, at least not put on by high schoolers or College student." That changed only a little since their arrival to Vegas. "What's your Musical of choice then?"

"That's a great question." Paralysis. Too many to count. His eyes took in the rafters above her, for a moment, the tip of his tongue jabbed at the corner of his mouth. He really had to give it some thought. He had been in so many. "It's a bit obscure.""Serse. Handel. 1738. It opens on a gorgeous aria. Handel's Ombra Mai Fu."

Maria watched as Oren struggled to think up an answer. It was a relatable feeling; picking favorites was always a challenge. She raised an eyebrow at the answer, and a smile crossed her lips. "Oh, so operas are musical now? One would say the narrative style, not to mention the use of music is different enough to separate them...but I'll let it slide."
She reached over to the craft table, picking up a cup before shuffling some gummy bears into it. " So you're into the classic classics, huh? I admit I honestly couldn't sit through most operas." an attention thing. "But if we are talking classic. The romantic ballet, Giselle, Eighteen forty- two, no, one. Composed by Adolphe Adam."

Oren's eyes narrowed at the Lost before him. There was a smile behind the faux suspicion. "Oh ho-hoh."
He took a gummy bear from the cup and popped it into his mouth. "You're cool. We should do dinner. You have so much to see."

Maria smirked at the faux suspicion. The offer of getting dinner cocked her eyebrow as she took in the other lost. Dinner could mean many things, and she tried to gauge what exactly his intentions were.
The follow-up statement, however, was interesting and a bit off-putting. What did she need to see?
"See, hmm? What exactly do I need to see?"
The moth chuckled, taking a bite of another gummy. The mirror skin was an odd one, fascinating...but an odd one.

"Art, beloved. Can I spoil you?"
He said it as simply as a person breathed. "A panoply of story. The furthest from Broadway. The masterpieces. I want to buy you tickets and overpriced wine."
