"Good evening, gentlemen," Alecto chimed, sitting next to the Onyx courtier with a drink in hand.
"I've called for a round of tequila. Hate me later."
Wink.

"Hate you? Never. You're gifting me with libation."
She was knew, and yet she radiated something that Oren really appreciated. Warming, even. Oren's marble gleamed and reflected dark scales in brief.

Broken from his contemplation his guard was back up. He knew how quickly gossip spreads, especially at these kinds of functions. He liked a bit of obscurity.
“She’s a client and a friend.” Ian said before Oren even asked the question. A little too quickly and flatly. There’s clearly something between these two. Good work, real slick.
Clearing his throat loudly he shifts his gaze to Alecto. “I appreciate the drink... Alecto? Don’t think I’ve had tequila since my undergrad years.” And then there were three. Not how he was expecting the night to progress but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t like it, if only a little.
Ian turns back and holds the marble statues gaze. “A silver-fox kind of man yourself?” Ian chuckles and snaps the band on his wrist. “I’m not much for flings, I’m afraid.”

"You're a man of principle. I respect that. Age looks good on you. You should be proud of it."
Oren swiveled towards Alecto, offering his hand. "I don't believe we've met and that is so unfair. I'm Oren and you are beautiful."

The Beast didn't appear to be bothering to mask much of anything. She was eyeing Ian up, but not in a way that spoke of closeness or attraction but rather throwing her weight around like a predator sizing up a potential threat and deciding to have fun with it. No ill will, unless he was going to give her a reason. "We're friends? That deserves a toast." Once the plate of drinks comes, she holds the glass aloft and snorts a bit from the raw alcohol. One was set aside for Linden . "Just outed myself," she chuckled. It wasn't like she was cruising bars these days either. With Oren's compliment she splayed a hand across her clavicle and rolled her eyes in a swoon. "That's why I'm fixing it. Anything special to the name?" The question could mean several things. Turning back to Ian, she nodded to the black band to match his namesake. "Is your partner here? Or keeping them safe?" she asked idly. Some Lost carried on Bargains or previous relationships with the mundane. Winter had a whole thing about keeping details to the chest, so the gesture baited the question.

There was less tension in the Ogre's jaw as they settled in beside Alecto, giving their date an apologetic look. "Sorry, misread something." Elbow propped on the table, the clean lines of the Ogre's peach suit blended neatly into Alecto's; clearly a matching set. Actually taking a look at the other people around the table, they shot Oren a grin. "Hey, you. It's been a minute." They didn't know the Elemental well, at all, but his magnetism was undeniable.
Unsure if it would be pushing the envelope to hold a hand out to the well-dressed Darkling to shake, Linden tipped their glass at him instead. "Don't believe we've met; Linden. Hope I'm not butting in but I need to make up for neglecting my date."

“Ian.” He returns the gesture, finishing his whisky. “You’re certainly welcome; though I’m sure your date can more than take care of herself.”
Loosening his bow tie Ian briefly wonders how he came to be surrounded by three Summer courtiers before turning back to Alecto. “To answer your question, no, she’s not here.” He tugs the rubber band and it’s clear he’s not wearing a ring on his left hand. “The band is more principle than anything else.”
Alright, time to move the spotlight. “Oren, why is it you’re sitting here with an old man and not up there?” He asks gesturing to the dance floor. “That’s not a suggestion, by the way, I’m grateful for the company.”

Linden. Peach. Matching set? Fun. "Hey, yourself!" he chided, playfully. "How are you?"
And to the distinguished Winter Courtier: "Contrast, mon ami. Those lights will always be there. But Winter shades? Cold colors? You have to appreciate them before they fade into the forgotten corners of the world. I see you, just as much as you see me."
"Tequila!", he poured some salt on the back of his hand, knocked it back, and went straight for the lime wedge that sat on the edge of the glass.

She chuckles at Linden's apology, "You're fine, saved you a drink."
Alecto glanced as Ian made the pointed gesture, not getting it at first because she assumed he could be dating. As the implication sinks in, she nods, smiling softly. "Such a gentleman."
As the pretty statue-man slid right past her prompt, she took the hint that it was probably rude to ask. Now that the conversation was rolling she let herself fade back, watching the joy and dancing evolve around her, and happy to absorb the atmosphere.

"Oh I don't doubt it," Linden responded to Ian with the flash of a grin at the aside that Alecto could take care of herself. "Good to meet you, I like your vest." It was a nicety, but not pointed or unkind.
"Oh you know, holding up," they answered Oren with a one-shouldered shrug. "Better for a night with friends and a good drink. Speaking of-" Linden picked up the shot Alecto had set aside for them and knocked it back, trying to wash away the mixed feelings they had about their previous interaction. Chewing thoughtfully on the lime, they looked to their date. "Thanks, that hit the spot. You thinking about dancing at all?"

Alecto snorted at Linden's question, "I'm terrible at dancing. So yes, absolutely. Everyone needs to suffer as I do."
She looks at the other two, raising her eyebrows to share in the question before squinting at the Metalflesh. "So what was up with Mr. Autumn? Or is that something to gossip about later?" The Beast leaned in a little bit, already getting tipsy.

Linden pulled a face, but also leaned in to a conspiratorial range. "Honestly? Not much. I thought he was being a jerk on purpose but turns out it was just on accident." Emptying their old fashioned, the Ogre grimaced. "That's- okay that's not fair. Basically he changed the way he looked in way that I thought was meant to upset a friend- of mine, not his- but sounds like whatever he did doesn't entirely let you decide the outcome. So, the intent wasn't pointed and if that's the case, well..." They shrugged. "He can get back to whatever he's doing, and I can do shots with you." They flagged someone down, asking for another round of shots. A wiser person might have learned from previous mistakes, but the impulse to drown any lingering social awkwardness in tequila was strong.
"So, no real gossip. Wait, I never got to hear what you brought, as a seed."

"Oh that's fun! Horticulture. I brushed up on my perennials for a role once upon a time. Small part, really. Little Shop of Horrors. What're you growing, hyacinth? Mint? Amaranthine?"
Linden was oh-so-comfortable summoning and dispelling this garçon with the glasses. Before they could disappear again, he tugged on his sleeve and beckoned his ear, whispering something that ended in an all-knowing grin. "I was thinking we could spice some things up before I take you dancing", Oren declared, royally. The server would come back with something rather extravagant; a flaming scorpion bowl with flower garnishes and more than enough straws. Oren would wink at Alecto. It was the least he could do to repay her for her generosity. "Some fun for the whole family."

Ian eyes the drink with both surprise and amusement. “Last time I danced disco was still in style. You kids have fun. I’ll hold down the fort.”
He gives a short sigh and looks at the garish drink again. Come on, old man. Live a little. Ian grabs two straws and takes large sip from the bowl. “Actually, think there’s a chance we could convince the DJ that disco isn’t dead?”

"Better to suss it out than regret it," Alecto said to Linden, "As for a seed, I just looked up Flower Language and grabbed some honeysuckle." The ritual was straight forward enough, thank God. She hadn't really signed up the play Witch Coven when breaking up a marriage cost her several years fighting off dragons.
She grins as Oren starts listing off flowers, "Wait! I didn't memorize the list," she laughed, "Isn't amaranthine made up? Or- wait, it's a Goblin Fruit... So the answer is yes."
As the drink appeared, the murderous Beast leaned forward intently towards the Elemental, "New best friend. Definitely keeping you around."
Her painted lips are already around one of the straws, conveniently marking her territory with gloss and glitter. She abandons the drink fast enough to not snort into it at the mention of disco, covering her mouth. "If you can't convince the DJ, me and Linden absolutely will; we should take bets."
