By the time they arrived back at the main gathering location for the party, Lucas had finished off his bottle of water and responsibly disposed of it. The next stop was grabbing some quick snacks since he was planning on doing round two of drinking in a bit. Until then, he wanted to make sure he had some food in his system so he could keep his mind somewhat sharp. "Over here."He gestured for his Cold Weather Squad to join him at the body painting station. While Lucas was aware of his good looks, he usually tried to be more subtle in how he expressed them. Outside of special occasions, he wore stylish yet modest clothing. Tonight was the night to set his modesty aside, especially since he was no longer on a solo adventure. The plan was to help bring sexy back to the cold weather courts.
Unfortunately, it looked like sexy would have to wait another day to come back. Lucas quickly learned that he may need to grab more snacks because he fumbled with unbuttoning his shirt in a smooth manner, cutting off his dance before it even got the chance to get going. He shook his head, amused at himself and his failure. Once his shirt was off it was quickly discarded to the side. Several small bottles of paint were picked up and he began to paint them across his chest and his arms. "Rowan, I may need you to help me run interference later. My game is apparently off at the moment." He continued to laugh while he briefly eyed his shirt before glancing over at the bar area.

Rowan was methodically removing the bracelets from his arms - he counted nine total. He moved between people and tables as best he could to the basket at the entrance, trying to look natural. The glow in his chest kind of made that impossible. He sheepishly placed them back and reached for a singular yellow one. There went nothing.
He made his way back just in time for Lucas' failed dance routine. "I thought you didn't heat up?" he asked as the Fairest removed his shirt. Interference? "I could always scare people away. I'm good at that."

Following after Lucas' lead, Eis finds herself singularly possessed by the need to make something of this event. Lucas' plan was... surprisingly agreeable. And Rowan even offered some information that had been entirely new to her. Though her eyes trace a path to the nearest bar, as a last resort, she puts those thoughts aside in favor of focusing on the task at hand.
When Lucas leads them to a body painting station, however, that laser-like focus falters. No... please don't tell me he's - But Lucas does. With all the practiced grace and sensuality of car wreck. All at once, its too much for her, and she cracks an amused, relieved smile. Relieved that whatever fleeting, girlish feelings she'd felt moments ago were just that; fleeting. Confident once more, she's sure she can handle anything else Lucas has in store for them.
Only then does she notice Rowan had joined them once more. The change in choice of bracelet seems the right choice for his new look. Though, honestly, she'd rather see what this new look can do than examine the aesthetics that go along with it.
"How much participation is required in what is obviously the next step?" For emphasis, she gestures with a flick of her chin towards the body paint. "I've nothing to hide, but this seems like a gesture for the young and flippant." Her eyes linger between the two, face stern and set and clearly demanding an answer.

"Rowan..." Lucas thought Rowan was joking with him but the Darkling seemed to be asking the question in earnest.
"I don't get warm. One, it means that my shirt isn't going to be ruined. Two, putting modesty aside for a moment, I'm in pretty decent shape so I'm likely to catch some eager eyes. Three, it helps me let go of some of my own inhibitions to get into the spirit of things. You should give it a try too if you're really wanting to live it up tonight." He gave Rowan a playful nudge in the side.
The Fairest then considered Eis' question about next steps. For a moment, his mind wandered back to the time he spent on the dance floor with Ivory. Thinking about the way she whispered exultation got his blood pumping again. He definitely needed to shuffle Sorsa away to some dark corner or a mirror so he could get back to chatting with Ivory. But first, he needed to organize the troops. If they were going to be productive tonight, they needed to let go of their inhabitations and actually have fun. Otherwise, anyone who looked at them would easily be able to tell it was all an act.
"Okay, so here's the thing about tonight. The point isn't to plan too heavily or create a check-list. It's about bringing about the end of mourning and exultation beginning." If a Spring Dragon with a decently potent mantle believed that to be the point of tonight, then that was good enough for Lucas. "We need to actually have fun. If you look like you're chewing on glass the entire time, no one is going to want to come party this way." He smirked at Eis, noting her expression.
"Find whatever it is that pings your desires tonight and follow that. Maybe it's putting paint on yourself, maybe finding someone to read poetry to. Whatever it is, you want to be genuine in your pursuit. Hell, maybe it's digging deep and giving into the desire to be true to yourself rather than whatever mold others want to put you. Don't over think it, just go with whatever feels right." He offered in an encouraging and what he hooped to be an inspiring tone to rally his troops into feeling comfortable in their own skin. While he spoke, he made sure his eyes lit up with energy and his smile shone brightly at them.

Ooh, a handshake. So...mature.
"That it would be."
Oren took the hand and shook it lightly. They traded looks, trying to flip a couple of pages of their respective books. Sneaking peeks? "You can call me Oren."
And then he sat down, crossing one leg over the other as he did so.
"Do you like them young, then?", he asked entirely in jest. Bands didn't lie, and Oren was in no mood to play homewrecker. It was a never a role to be proud of...but it was one to relish.

It had to be the kith. No way Rowan actually wanted to let go of the cold and revel in the sweet warmth and bask in the light of Spring. Right?
Slowly, he pulls of his t-shirt, the brightness between his ribs dimming as he he shyly rubs his arms. He'd never felt at home in his body, not since coming back and finding out he went from sweet summer child to salty winter adult. It moved weirdly, the proportions and the reach longer than what he was used to. Clothes he liked never suited it and it had strange reflexes, like memories buried in the flesh rather than the mind. The t-shirt was tucked in the back pocket of his shorts in case he decided to put an end to this spring merriment.
He was in shape, maybe more so than Lucas. He wasn't as defined as the ghost whispered, his superior mass focused on practicality rather than aesthetic. Sure, he had to complexion of a corpse that was left in the snowbank for several months and a personality to match, but it was more than his kith's shine that made heads turn. Soft illumination pierced through his rib cage, coming through in warm oranges and pinks as it was filtered through flesh. Trapped behind the bones were tiny shadows of moths that fluttered about and bumped into his chest in a vain attempt to break out. It was both delicate and unsettling to look at. Rowan was self-conscious about the way people were looking at him, but once he figured out it wasn't in morbid curiosity, he relaxed a little. Rowan felt exposed, in a way he hadn't felt before. Being in the centre of attention rubbed him the wrong way, and he had to fight his urge to hide.
"So..." he asked meekly. "What next?"

The Beast blows a raspberry at the wrist bands. It really wasn't her speed, but she at least understood the idea of flagging consent to avoid stupidity with booze and Spring indulgences. They matched in colour choices, Alecto relenting to Yellow and White for Summer solidarity. She grabs Linden's arm like it was a life raft, hauling them to the bar with an uproar of laughter the shed off the awkward backdrop and pump their date up. "I owe Archie a hug and a cherry pie. Should we get him over here or is he going to be busy?"
Philicia's eulogy held her attention: deaths were rare, and if it were an accident she would have heard about the gossip. It didn't seem to be a total mood killer, but the Spring Court sounded like just the types who would spin this as a celebration of life rather than linger on the sorrow. After she held a Negroni in her palm to swirl like a neon orange brandy, she tapped the Ogre, "What did you bring? We're supposed to plant something at some point."

She blew a playful kiss back to Oren as he bounced, gone as quick as he came. Keen eyes swept the gathering for anything that warranted attention or just plain seemed fun. It didn't take long to find The Key Development. Rowan? Had he taken off his shirt at a party? This she had to see. "Luke, I feel like I'm watching Spring in progress up in here," Rose said, a compliment that was cast to both fellas with a glance. Real clean, ain't gonna touch or nothin' -- it just looked like the guys were having fun. Lucas was pretty, but she knew what 'pretty spook' meant. Rely on the power of the Red Bracelet. "Fun looks good on you, Rowan. How was the day shift, boys?" They were half-way through 'partying all day and all night'. Surely, there were good stories to be heard. She offered Eis a handshake. "Hey. Kai Rose, with Summer. Nice to meet you."

Lucas... such a charming boy. He’s certainly trying. Though Eis has to wonder if this sort of event isn’t really his thing, either. If anything, she should show the two of them how it’s done. She just had to remember what, precisely “it” looks like. She’s certainly never bothered to socialize with the High School staff after work. It must have been ages ago that she’d ‘let her hair down’.
Rowan seems to have the right idea. Maybe he’ll draw in others with his display like so many moths to a flame. Or lamp. Or something. He does at least sport an impressive figure.
With an unfamiliar face coming to greet them, Eis gives Kai a once over, noticing a sensible red bracelet. Something of a relief, she supposes. She’d at least have a chance to ease into this party scene instead of diving headfirst into pheromones and loose intentions.
Eis accepts the handshake with two slow pumps and a hand clasped over the other side. “Eis. Of Autumn, though. Never mind the word play on the cold. It’s a moniker I adopted out of reputation more than anything else.” She offers a smirk.
What would come next can only be her best attempts to play the flippant young party goer. “Lucas! Be a dear and fetch us some shots, won’t you?” Her smile fades and her face scrunches as she winces a little. “Make them doubles. The four of us should properly ‘spring’ into the occasion.” Good Lord... what is she doing?

"Rowan, my man! That's how it's done." Lucas gave Rowan a hardy slap on the shoulders, proud of compatriot for taking such a big step out of his comfort phone.
Before he had the chance to plot their next course of action, Kai came rolling in.
"When in Rome, right?" Lucas replied with a playful wink. "Can't complain so far. Work hard, play hard, as they say. How's the evening been for you, Kai?"
Lucas watched all of the exchanges taking place, pleased that so many of his fellow Lost were connecting and that he had been the social catalyst. While the others talked, he finished putting on the rest of the body paint. The last area he wanted to cover was his face. He put a couple of dashes underneath his cheeks, down his nose, and across his forehead. There wasn't a mirror around for him to check out how he looked but he wasn't too worried if it was perfect or not.
Just when he thought the surprise train was going to come to a stop for awhile, Eis kept it rolling. He flashed her two thumbs up.
"You got it."
Fortunately, Lucas did not have to wander back over to the bar area. He wanted to wait a few more minutes before he made his triumphant return. One of the servers passed by him with several shots on the tray. Lucas collected the UV Blue Bombsicles from the tray, leaving a generous tip after doing so. Once he returned to the group, everyone who wanted a drink was given a double shot glass. Before anyone could take a drink, he quickly fished his phone out of his pocket.
"If ever there was a time to take a selfie, this would be it. Who knows when we'll get a photo opportunity like this again." The Fairest raised his phone up in the air, backing in towards the group so that they could huddle up.

It was a strange feeling, getting complemented. Emboldened by Kai’s kind words and how natural everyone was acting, Rowan allowed his light to grow a little brighter. He grabbed the shot that was given to him and awkwardly posed for the selfie.
“Thanks, Kai. I- um. For everything. Thanks.”
He was happy. Well, as happy as he could be with the nagging thoughts in the back of his head. It was similar to Valentine’s Day. People liked him well enough, but it wasn’t for who he really was. He had to twist his identity to match what was socially acceptable. In a sense, he was doing exactly what Eis had denounced earlier - he was sugarcoating who he was. He pushed the thought aside. He just wanted to enjoy it while it lasted, even if it weren’t fully real.
Rowan moved to the body paint station and tentatively dipped his finger in the glowing substance. He hadn’t finger painted for a long time, but he seemed to remember to quite enjoy it. He smeared some red against his skin. It looked like blood, viscous and cold. He had no idea what he was doing, but he was having fun with it.

Cradling their own drink, a tequila old-fashioned with nectarine muddled in the bottom, Linden looked down when Alecto tapped them. "I brought a pin off a coat I wore when I moved here," they admitted. Dipping into their pocket, they pulled out a bright yellow pin with the words 'don't die wondering' on it and held it out for her to see. "Seemed as good a thing as any, and I don't wear it anymore. What about you?" The pin vanished back into their pocket, ready for whenever that part of the ceremony came. As they scanned the room, indulging in a bit of people-watching, their eyes were caught by a light unlike the others. A blossoming of warmth under Rowan's usually frosty skin, and something moving within. Hard to tell from where they were, but as they silently moved closer, it was unmistakable: moths. Something tightened in Linden's throat, displeasure settling into the tension of their jaw. He'd done this before, changed his form; they didn't really get the nuances, but the combination of glow and moths felt like an intentional gesture toward Riley. Riley and Rowan had already sparked off each other more than once, but at a Spring event? A little more respect was due to a host than playing at being them. Linden themself had been lightly traumatized by the Autumn event, but it had lead them to take it out on Rowan had it? They looked apologetically but resolutely down at Alecto. "Sorry, one sec.""Hey bud," the Ogre said, raising their chin to Rowan in greeting. "What's this about?" One of their beaten metal fingers made a circulation motion in front of their own chest, indicating his newfound glow and fluttering shadows.

Alecto popped her tongue, watching Linden square their shoulders and approach the group thank frankly popped from the crowd. Between the gorgeous Twilight boy that belonged on a Harlequin Romance cover, the powerful ice witch, the lava lamp Amazon, and passive glowing corpse she couldn't guess what the Metalflesh was wanting to poke at.
She wiggled her own blackened finger tips, suddenly feeling weirdly out of place among giant personalities and testaments to ethereal power. Feeling even sillier about the wrist bands sans-date, she quietly stuffed her hands in her pockets and saddled up with the mostly-empty table with the smartly-dressed Ian Black and living Greek statue, if only for the spectacle of the flashy Elemental try and crack her debt collector.

“What are we drinking tonight?”
A simple innocuous question as Archie found a familiar face in the front not yet having their attention stolen and decided that like a decent deputy it would be worth engaging. Plus he was less exhausted, and less business than their last meeting so who knows what would emerge. “Saw you made it early enough to catch the more down notes of the whole thing. Thankfully things will stay a bit more upbeat through the night, it isn’t Spring if it doesn’t get a little sprung, right?”
A chuckle at his own humour - but his delivery was flat today, hopefully the Ogre didn’t hate the humour. Strong King - Archie — Today at 7:05 PM

Doubles sounded all right. The Fairest was intense, all personality like they tended to be. Not that she was one to judge; she was weird as Wizened went, herself. The stereotypes were relevant. "I'd be the last to judge a tongue in cheek moniker," she chuckled. Lucas being sent off to grab shots sounded about right. "Or a pun."
Selfie it was, along with a tasty-looking double. She tossed deuces and a big wink into the camera, turning her body to the side a little. There was no Duckface. Such a thing was beneath her... for now.
As Linden popped by, she tossed the Ogre a wave. "Superpowers, Linden. He's got all the superpowers." She whispered, "One time, she even turned Icarus into a Polychromatic. Talk about tough to get used to. It was like watching reality stutter."
