Linden returned Kai's nod and stepped back, out of her way as she managed the false Lancelot. Buck's disappearance didn't wholly surprise them, but it wasn't comforting to think about either; someone that upset and destabilized shouldn't be operating alone. There was nothing they could do about that, though, and Agrippa's disappearance had happened in the midst of so much other action that they weren't honestly sure where the Beast was, beyond that their leaving had not been loud or violent. Which probably meant it was fine? So they moved to make sure doors were open and paths clear as Kai escorted the captive.

Liden and Kai walk calmly out with Lancelot, descending the stone steps in the shadow of the mansion as the vehicle promised by Solomon shortly arrived. They drove a little faster with the incentive that the police would likely be there in a few minutes, and lo and behold the sirens were heard shortly with the departure.
The woman spook with the cook as he greeted her distress. She was honest about calling the police, and explained she had seen the master of the house speaking with strangers in a coded manner. Agrippa realizes she would have seen him fade from reality, though she likely was leaving that out to avoid sounding insane. A murder attempt, an accusation of their manager being an infiltrator for an organization looking to exact a grievance- as she spoke, some of the other staff leaned in to listen, some with mild concern and others with rapt interest.
At the announcement that the police had arrived, she nods, excusing herself to the bathroom to have some time to compose herself. She turned down accompaniment; it was ridiculous to think something would happen with this much attention on her. Some of her coworkers were clearly more invested in seeing her outed as a crazy paranoid, given her history in claiming she could see spirits.

It was about half-way through her conversation with the cook that Agrippa got the sinking feeling that indeed, no one was doing anything. They felt somewhat like an abandoned hunting dog, having dutifully caught up to a downed duck only to find that that the hunting party wasn't in tow. Feeling more like a trespasser by the minute, the beast was frozen in indecision right up until they heard the idle accusation that this maid would talk of seeing spirits. If that was the case, she was either incredibly good at pretending she hadn't noticed them, or she was a bold-faced liar. They somewhat expected the latter, but if she could see them...
"I must say, if you can hear me, you are an incredibly talented actor for pretending you can't."

As she rises, she begins texting as she enters the bathroom.
The shrieks of the restless dead fill the mansion in a rising harmony.
The temperature around Agrippa starts to drop.

Oh. That wasn't good. That wasn't good at all... Agrippa didn't think she could see them, but suddenly they didn't care very much at all about that. They booked it away from her, through whatever walls they needed to get to the street, and a good block beyond that- they wanted to be caught lurking around the police cars only slightly more than they wanted to be caught up in the specters, after all.

Ivory was long gone by then, of course. The Pale Dragon had already taken her exit when the Polychromatic signaled that it was time to move. Given the two Summers were taking him to Kai's superior, Ivory elected to instead go home. Summer business was not her business and, so long as Kai did not call for her to attend, the Pale Dragon assumed the investigation was no longer an item of concern.
The matter was being investigated. For the Fairest, that was what mattered, although she trusted Kai knew she would be available should the need come.

The ephemeral Unicorn blasted through the corridors, billowing anything that wasn't tied down as they retraced their earlier ventures. Skiing down the bannister to the bottom floor like Mary Poppins with flames at her heel, Agrippa vaulted from the steps through the front door in a graceful leap, not even having time to clock any ghostly hands coming through the walls.
Cold sweat trickled down the back of their neck, but they were safe, panting outside the boundaries of the estate and nestled in the neighbour's hydrangeas.
It would have made for a lovely Instagram shot, given their complexion and the noon lighting.
